I.

Background
Amkor is one of the worlds largest providers of contract semiconductor assembly and
test services. Founded in 1968, Amkor pioneered the outsourcing of IC assembly and
test and is now a strategic manufacturing partner for more than 200 of the worlds
leading semiconductor companies and electronics OEMs.
Date of MOA signing: 4 March 2011. Duration of the Partnership: Three (3) years

II.

Responsibilities (of the Donor-Partner)


1. Assist in the information and education campaigns and community mobilization
activities of the DENR and Muntinlupa City Government, to foster harmonious
relations with, and solicit the community participation, cooperation, and support, for
the program;
2. Assist the DENR in training community leaders in (a) solid waste management and
(b) mobilizing their fellow residents to implement the Palico Creek Environmental
Improvement Program; and

3. Coordinate with local government units, relevant government agencies, advocacy


partners, and the affected communities in order to streamline efforts and ensure
the smooth flow of the program.

Clean-up activities: June 01, 2012


AMKOR conducted a clean-up activity at the mouth of Laguna Lake Station
on June 01. 2012, as part of their corporate social responsibility and
commitment to Adopt-an-Estero / Water Body Program of the DENR.
Some personnel of Lake Management Office of Muntinlupa City, Bantay
Lawa, Barangay Buli and Cupang Volunteers, AMKOR Team members and
EHSMS Council Champs participated in the said activity.

Information and Education Campaign


2.1. Training/Seminar
AMKOR in cooperation with National Solid Waste Commission - Secretariat
(NSWC) conducted Solid waste Management Training on the same day (June
1, 2012) at Barangay Buli, Muntinlupa City.

2.2. Streamers
AMKOR also uses streamers in its IEC campaigns.

2.3. Pamphlets
Pamphlets and newsletters were also used in its IEC campaigns.

v. Livelihood/Enterprise Development (e.g. Vermicomposting): None were Reported
