As one would know, there are two categories of school:

1.Private Schools: These schools are those in which students are required to pay
the fee as per the demand of these private institutions and in return get quality
education and get to enjoy numerous facilities that the schools have to offer. In
my opinion, the current situation need not be changed in these institutes.
However, one can give 2 suggestions :
i) There should be a check on the fees being demanded
ii) There should be a cell/a central institute which makes sure that the seats
reserved for students from various sections of society are taken by the same and
that no injustice is done.

2.Government Schools: Today the condition of these schools is not satisfactory. A

quick look at one of the government schools and one would notice poor
infrastructure, lack of teachers, low enrolment immediately. Some suggestions
that could help improve the condition of these schools are given below:i) Allotment of teachers should be done acc. to the number of students and also
acc.to the subject.
ii) Appointment cell should consist of those people who are honest and are not
succumbed by pressure from people of higher positions.
iii) The concept of daily wages for teachers should be removed from the root.
Teachers hired on daily wages often develop inferiority complex and do not get
enough opportunities of promotion
iv) In case of a teacher leaving, proper arrangements should be made for an
immediate replacement. Students often suffer a lot when a teacher suddenly
leaves due to various reasons.
v) There should be a compulsion for the newly-appointed teachers to start off
teaching first in rural areas (preferably for a year) and then shift to urban areas.
vi)Teachers should not be allowed to hold tuitions. However, enough salary
should be given to them so that they are able to fulfil their household needs
satisfactorily
vii)It is necessary that the reserved seats should only be allotted to the
deserving students.
viii)There should be an annual reorientation program for teachers that should be
held by teachers from private schools.
ix) Government school teachers should not be given duties in miscellaneous
events like elections, census etc.
**x)Vocational education can be commenced from standard 9 if the school can
form a channel for the students. For example, those students who are not good
in studying, or want to indulge in their family job, should be given scientific
education about their fields of interest.
xi)Account cell should be strengthened to prevent corruption . Therefore, regular
audits should be held and maintenance of accounts should be done.
MISCELLANOUS FACILITIES:
i) When a student is admitted to the school, he should be given a proper set of
the school uniform as well as textbooks.
ii)The concept of mid-day meals should be abolished. There are cases of students

getting ill due to the mid day meals. Mid-day meals rarely provide the students
with proper nutrition. However, one may offer these students packed food which
may be prepared by one central institute and delivered to the schools.
iii)Use of technology in teaching
