GRAMMAR { ARTICLES }
There are two types of articles:
The Definite Article (the) and the Indefinite Article (a and an).
The is called the definite article because it is used to indicate something
specific.
A and An are called the indefinite articles because they are used to indicate
something unspecific.
Examples :

i) I love an apple pie after dinner.


ii) Can you pass me a chair?
iii) I'm not a troublemaker. I'm the troublemaker!

GRAMMAR { SUBJECT VERB AGREEMENT }
Subjects and verbs must AGREE with one another in number (singular or
plural). Thus, if a subject is singular, its verb must also be singular; if a
subject is plural, its verb must also be plural.
Examples : i)The weather on the coast (appear-appears) to be good this
weekend.
ii)The center on the basketball team (bounce-bounces) the ball
too high

Forming Plurals

a. Most nouns take S at the end of their singular forms.

GRAMMAR { CONJUNCTION }
Conjunctions are words that join parts of the sentence. They may join two
similar parts of speech, such as two adjectives, two verbs, or two nouns.
Conjunctions may also connect two clauses. Coordinating conjunctions unite
two independent clauses and subordinating conjunctions join one dependent
clause and one independent clause.

To recall the seven coordinating conjunctions, remember


the word FANBOYS [For And Nor But Or Yet So]
Examples of correlative conjunctions:
Whether you earn an A or get a lower grade, do your best. [Each
conjunction is followed by a verb]
Both John and Bill are excellent tennis players. [Each conjunction
is followed by a noun]
