DESCRIPTION:

Iteration Must be turned on - see Special note below (if you received a circular
reference error when you opened this file, iteration is not turned on).

This program is based on the procedure in chapter 3 of ACI 530.

The procedure assumes the wall panel is simply supported with axial loads and/or out of plane uniform lateral loads only.
It assumes maximum moments and deflections are at midheight of the panel.
The load factors of the program assume strength level earthquake forces. If service level forces are used, they MUST be incre

The manual for this program is the ACI 318 code. All definitions and interpretations should be in accordance with ACI 318.
Some instructions are given in a comment box when you place the cursor on a cell with a red flag.
In order to see the comment box you must make sure this feature is turned on. If it is not, choose "tools" from
the pulldown menu (Excel 2003 or older) , then select "options", pick the "view" tab, and then under "comments" se
"comment indicator only". For Excel 2007 and later select the "file" ribbon button (round upper left button in Excel 2

SPECIAL NOTE: The program uses an iteration process to solve for deflection. To avoid macros, the built in Excel
iteration process is used. Iteration needs to be turned on. To verify or turn iteration on, do the following;
Excel 2003 or older: select Tools from the pull down menu, then select Options, pick the Calculation
Excel 2007: Click the round Office Button (upper left), click Excel Options (at bottom) , click the Formulas
Excel 2010: Click the File tab, click Options, click the Formulas category, then see below.
In the Calculation options section check the iteration box (enable iterative calculations),
set the maximum iteration value to 100 and the maximum change value to 0.001.
If you receive errors you may have broken the iteration process. Use the undo button and turn iteration
on. If that doesn't work start over with the original program file and turn iteration on.

REVISIONS

select "options", select "advanced" from the left menu, then under "display" select "indicators only, and comments on hover".
