MUSIC APPRECIATION

(DRAWING INTERPRETATION)

On February 6th 2015 our activity for the patients was music interpretation.
The song that we first which was the fast song to keep the patient hyped or
interested in the activity was Forever by Chris Brown. After the fast song we
played Miss na Miss kita by Freddie Aguilar. Most of the patients know about the
song and we have instructed them to draw anything that comes up to their mind
based on the song we played. On the second time we played the song we game
them a bond paper each and 3 sets of crayons on the table. My patient, Robert
Gabriel used one color for his drawing. It was red. Instead of drawing something
based on the slow song that we played, he wrote a message for me and my
classmates. He also drew 3 hearts with a message written inside the hearts. The
message on the front of the paper was TO SIR MIGGS, YOU & YOUR CLASSMATE
ARE PASSES TO BOARD EXAM, GRADUATE IN STUDY. ABROAD TO OTHER COUNTRY
HAVING GOOD FAMILY HAVING GOOD HEALTH GOODLUCK. The second paragraph
read as GOD BLESS YOU ALL, ADVANCE HAPPY VALENTINES TO ALL OF YOU.
THANKS BY ROBERT G. GABRIEL. At the back of the paper he wrote ROBERT
GALANG GABRIEL PAV. 35 NCMH FEBRUARY 6, 2015 FRIDAY. He drew 3 hearts and
the message of the first heart reads as JESUS IS LORD AMEN the second heart
reads as GOD HONORABLE FATHER CREATOR AMEN the last heart he wrote
VIRGEN MARY HONORABLE MOTHER AMEN Then he wrote on the last part of the
message I GREET YOU ALL A HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.
He drew 3 hearts which signifies his feminine side (anima) the 3 rd heart he
wrote MOTHER which specify forms of place of origin; that which passively
creates, substances one matter; lower body; that which carries, nurtures, embraces,
protects; emotional being. The symmetry of his letterings was bilaterally stressed.
The placement of his message was centered but not extreme which signifies selfcenteredness. The size of his letters was large in relation to whole, it indicates
difficulty in controlling drives, compensations for experiencing the self as
inadequate, overwhelmed by affect. The directions of lines was continual change of
direction and it means an unfulfilled safety needs. The pressure of his writing was
heavy which indicates psychic energy available for acting on the environment, selfassertiveness. For the shape of strokes it was free and rhythmic which is
unrestructured. The movement was odd rhythm which indicates feminism. The color
that he used was only red and it signifies self-centeredness, feeling and intuitive
functions. The mode of handling materials was stroking which signifies complex
related to oral period, investment of libidinal energy in object. He drew 3 hearts
which is a diagram; projection of negative affect or aggressive drive, inadequate
fulfillment of safety needs. He drew a heart which is an internal anatomy and it
signifies overwhelmed by unconscious contents.
The patients message was all written in pure English which indicates that he
is quite good in English. Even though some grammars and punctuations are wrong it
was still good considering his educational attainment which is a high school

undergraduate. It was also written in capitals. Overall the message that he wrote
was a friendly message for me and my classmates which also means that he
appreciates our presence and what we are doing to them. Finally he greeted us with
Happy Valentines Day which also means he is aware of the time of the month and
is hopeful and excited for the said celebration.
