NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. Dont call him short-tempered or hotheaded. Call him passionate.
Thats how New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie described himself
before a full house of conservative activists at the CPAC gathering
Tuesday, when talk-show host Laura Ingraham read off a list of the
unflattering adjectives sometimes applied to Christie.
The word they miss is passionate, Christie said. Referring to a
much-viewed video of Christie barking at a New Jersey resident during a town hall meeting, Sometimes people need to be told to sit
down and shut up, he said, to applause.
Some more of that stuff should be happening in D.C., he
said. Theres so much ridiculous stuff being
spewed.
But he told Jeb Bush, in so many words, to
stand up and start talking. The town hall

JACKSON A 17-year-old township girl was killed
Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on West
Veterans Highway, authorities said.
A 1997 Jeep Cherokee driven by Kaitlyn Henninger
was struck by a 1993 Ford F800 flatbed truck when Henningers vehicle entered the highway from Hawkin
Road, according to a statement from township police
Lt. Steve Laskiewicz.
The victim was taken to Helene Fuld Medical Center
in Trenton, where she was pronounced dead.
The Jackson native was a freshman studying liberal
arts at Ocean County College, peers and a professor
said. She had taken time off for the spring semester.
Friends described her as a compassionate friend and
a dance fanatic who often practiced ballet.
Kaitlyn, Ive only known you since last semester,
but we became such friends in no time, wrote freshman Rohan Shah on Facebook. Whos going to teach me
how to dance now? Whos gonna buy me tickets to watch
plays now? Whos gonna sit next to me while watching
them?

NEPTUNE Gov. Chris Christies silence on a long-term transportation funding solution demonstrates a really troubling lack of interest in state issues as Christie gears up for an expected presidential campaign, Senate President Stephen Sweeney charged Thursday.
During a meeting with the Asbury Park Press editorial board,
Sweeney said he was not impressed by Christies 25-minute budget
address Tuesday, highlighted by Christies assertion that he had
reached an unprecedented accord with the states largest teachers union on benefit reforms.
He gave no vision and he gave us a budget address without a budget, said Sweeney, D-Gloucester. On top of it all it was not truthful.
The teachers did not have a deal. They came to the table willing to
have a dialogue and Christie announces this historic (deal), and Im
like, Whats he talking about? Theres no agreement here. They
