Networks
Hi there reader, have you ever
asked yourself what is a network
and does it components work?
well the common user doesnt
know the answer to that question,
and in case you dont know it
either Im going to explain it the
simplest I can to you, in order for
you to acquire knowledge of how a
system we use daily works, for that
reason Im going explain in detail in
this essay what a network is and it
components work, you wont regret

reading it and knowing more about

the topic.
A network is when two or more
computers are connected to share
resources (such as printers or CDs),
exchange files or allow electronic
communications. There are two
types of networks which are WANs
and LANs, each of those have a
certain task or function, the WAN
(Wide Area Network) connects
large networks like cities, and LAN
(Local Area Network) that connects
small networks such as a writing
lab, a school or a building, like each
building of ITLA that has a LAN
connected to a WAN, and that we
call an uplink.

The network architecture isnt more

than
a
framework
for
the
specification
of
a
networks
physical components and their
functional
organization
and
configuration,
its
operational
principles and procedures, as well
as data format. To have a network
architecture you need to use a
certain model, and the most used
is call model OSI (Open Systems
Interconnections) which consists of
seven layers which are in order:
Physical layer, Data layer, Network
layer, Transport layer, Session
layer,
Presentation
layer and
Application layer.

The physical network topology of a

network refers to the configuration
of cables, computers or other
peripherals.
Physical
topology
should not be confused with Logical
topology, which is the method used
to
pass
information
between
workstations. There are three types
of physical topologies which are
Linear
Bus,
Star
and
Tree
(expanded tree). Im going to
explain something else that is
network protocol, and this is a set
of
rules
that
governs
the
communications
with
other
computers, and those need to have
the same protocol in order to
communicate with each other.

Well, I hope youve learned what a

network is, how the work, their
parts, the set of rules and many
other things, because is useful to
know how something we use in a
daily basis work, due to the fact
that in a certain occasion it may
have a problem that should solve,
or just to know how it works,
because knowledge is the base of
society, it was a pleasure to have
this topic and explain it, I hope that
you have taken the most of it and
that it serves of great use to you,
thanks for reading.
