March Fruit of the Month

Blood Oranges
Item Number: 15090
Pack Size: 18 lbs case

marketnotes

The deep, rich crimson found in Blood oranges is the perfect

foil for both color and texture we crave during these long, cold
winter days and nights. Besides a splash of color, the hint of
raspberry flavor is what makes this so special.

Produce Market Report March 3, 2015

Good Buys

Grapes: Happily, the market

for all varieties of grapes has
moderated and we are
seeing good prices and
availability out of Peru.

Iceberg, red and green

leaf: Prices are down and
dirty with low demand and
good crop yields.

Mangos: Good prices and

excellent quality on sweet
and delicious mangos from
Peru this week.

Strawberries: Prices are

really are a bargain on
strawberries out of Florida.
They are big, juicy and
beautiful and the demand is
down right now.

Navel oranges and

lemons: There is a
slow-down at west coast
ports causing a disruption in
exports which will have a
favorable impact on prices for
oranges and lemons from
California.

Cara cara, blood oranges:

California is still shipping
excellent quality citrus at
good prices. Keep in mind
that Blood Oranges are the
very versatile Fruit of the
Month.

Broccoli and broccoli

crowns: We are still
receiving excellent quality
and prices but desert
temperatures have been
very warm so we anticipate
higher prices in the weeks to
come. For now, it is time to
feature broccoli.

Celery: Supplies are steady

and quality is very nice out
of Yuma and Oxnard.
Demand is slow and prices
are lower.

Red and yellow peppers:

Mexico is shipping large
quantities of red and yellow
peppers at very reasonable
prices now. Yellow peppers
are only available in 11 lbs.
