Pastors Remarks
Dear Church Family,
First of all, let me say a special thank you for Pastor Appreciation. I am
grateful for the cards, notes, monetary gifts, and words of kindness and
encouragement. A special thanks to the children for their cards and candies.
They were precious. You are a kind and giving church family. It has been
my joy to serve as your pastor these thirteen years, to be able to minister to
you and serve with you.
As you have heard from the pulpit in these last few weeks, discipleship
continues to be on my heart. After all, our mission as a church is to make
disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). A disciple is one who has trusted Christ as
Savior and chosen to follow Him. Our responsibility as a church is to guide
and direct that person in the truth of God, helping them to mature in their
spiritual walk.
Our strategy for making disciples is really a simple one. Two keys are
worship and small group Bible study. In the not-too-distant future, I am
going to encourage us to add another step. For those who will participate, I
am going to ask you to take someone under your wing, to serve as a mentor
to that person. Disciple-making is not just informational, it is relational.
This additional step calls for the disciple-maker to meet weekly to pray
with, encourage, look at Bible truths, in essence to model the lifestyle of a
believer in Christ. I will share more with you in the coming weeks. Would
you begin to pray about this and ask God if He wants you to be involved?
Lets make the most of the days we have left. The day will come when we
will no longer have the opportunity to win people to Jesus and disciple
them. But for many it will be too late. Who will be in heaven because of
you?
Teach us to number our days carefully, so that we may develop wisdom in
our hearts. (Psalm 90:12)
In Christ,

Bro. Darrol

DISCOVER THE LOVE OF CHRIST

Hey Family!
First of all, a huge thank you goes out to everyone who participated in our winter fundraiser, 100 Envelopes,
from both our youth students and leaders!! Because of your donations, we have raised over $3000 for low
income youth families for camp!! Once again, I am reminded of just how great God is in filling this church
with people who have both generous hearts and spirits. Thank you again:
And my God will supply all your every needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
This years camp theme for Super Summer 2015 is into
MARVEL-ous light! This theme was taken fr om 1 Peter
2:19, and has officially turned camp into a Marvel superhero
extravaganza! I am extremely excited about this summer, and
would like to remind you that if you know of a young adult
who would want to participate, its still not too late! Please
contact me at the office or call at (863) 635-3603.

Also, our students are looking forward to March 13-15, as we will be participating in a brand new event called
D-NOW. Discipleship Now is put on by First Baptist Church K issim m ee, and is sponsor ed by my
predecessor, Heath Woolman. D-Now is a discipleship weekend filled with awesome music, discipleship
classes, and professional speaker Dave Edwards! Dave is an amazing gospel presenter who has spoken at our
past MOBLIZE events, and we are looking forward to hearing his message for Jesus Christ. Cost of the event
is $35 a student. Register now before its too late!
Thank you again for all that you do, and keep
running the race with endurance for Him!
Keep fishing,
Bro. Brian

Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart

Life Group 4 KidZ/ Worship 4 KidZ:

I want to brag on our Life Group leaders! I have been in Childrens Ministry for many
years and can honestly say our Preschool and Childrens leaders are committed servants
in their ministry for the Lord. They do a fantastic job shepherding the children they are
entrusted with. I am so thankful for them.
We are launching a new approach on Bible memorization in Life Group and Worship 4
KidZ. We realize we cant be with our kids 24/7. But God can. We want them to
memorize inspirational Bible verses so they will carry Gods Word with them wherever
they go. (Psalm 119:11) In addition to their Bible lessons, the children will ALL be given
the same verse for one month. They will be taught what it says, what it means, and
where to find it in the Bible. We will also provide them each week with age appropriate
reinforcement tools. I believe that teaching our kids this discipline is one of the greatest
gifts we can give them.

AWANA
As with our Sunday Morning leaders, the AWANA leaders are dedicated to teaching and
ministering to the Wednesday Night group. In just a couple of months, AWANA will be
ending for the year- but until then they have lots of exciting things going on. March 4:
Regular Book Night, March 11: Shamrock Night (Wear GREEN) March 18: Beach Night
and Hot-Dogs, March 25 Spring Break (NO AWANA).

CHILDRENS SUMMER CAMP

The Childrens Department fundraiser luncheon is Sunday, March 8, in the Smith
Building. The menu is Spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Dine in or carry
out. We will serve from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Donations accepted at the door and proceeds
will assist with summer camp expenses.
