    I cannot allow myself in good conscience


    to vote for any candidate who did not
    participate in the forum presented by the
    Messenger Club. The forum was open to
    all candidates and was an opportunity to
    meet them in person, listen to their views,
    and ask them questions. The candidates
    who refused to participate do not deserve
    to be elected to any UCO Office.

    The politics of Fear.

    The politics of fear is a tactic being employed by


    more and more political leaders in their bids to
    garner support and maintain their positions.
    The war in Iraq was a prime example, the
    reasons the President gave to embark on this
    war were a masterful deception perpetrated on
    the public at a time when fear was prevalent due
    to the hideous attacks that cost many American
    lives . The President started beating the drums
    about weapons of mass destruction and the
    threat by the demons in the middle east. He
    presented himself as the savior who would deal
    with this threat and keep us all safe.
    Compare this to what is going on in
    Century Village. Our elected president constantly
    claims that Century Village is threatened by a
    group who are intent on destruction. He
    demonizes a few individuals and uses them to
    reinforce his position, He threatens to call the
    police at assemblies because the instruments of
    destruction and the proponents of anarchy are
    challenging him and threatening to ruin
    everything.
    Really ? Mr President. Do we really need
    to call armed security to the assembly because
    an irate elderly lady is saying something you do
    not like?
    Refusing to allow examination of the
    books, stonewalling candidates for committees ,
    demonizing candidates for election, claiming that
    opponents are nothing more than malcontents
    and disruptive are all ploys that Mr Israel uses
    while claiming to be the savior who will protect us
    , and that his actions are justified in order to
    protect us from those little old ladies and men
    who are bent on destruction.
