VCM-5T-A
There are two variations of the VCM interface unit, the VCM-5T-A and
VCM-10T-A. The difference between these units is in interface module
support. Two interface modules can be installed on one VCM, supporting two
channel interfaces each, thus one VCM unit can have four physical interfaces.
The unit accesses unframed user signals at rates 0.68448 kbit/s. VCM
supports end-to-end Tellabs proprietary CRC supervision of the user signals
when there are VCMs at the both ends of the circuit.
The VCM-5T-A and VCM-10T-A can be installed in Tellabs 8140 midi nodes,
Tellabs 8150 basic nodes and Tellabs 8160 accelerator nodes A111.

VCM Interfaces
The available interface types allow for cable lengths of a few meters. With a
G703-64 interface the cable length can be up to a few hundred meters.

The interface parameters for VCM unit are more complicated compared to the
parameters of GMH unit. The easiest way to define the parameters for an
interface is to use templates. The Interface Parameter Templates dialog can be
opened from the Interface Parameters dialog in any unit. The correct template is
selected from the drop-down menu, the template is read and the interface
window is updated. New templates are created using the Create New button in
the Interface Parameter Templates dialog.
