Greetings!

The Research and Biotechnology Division (RBD), for its 18th Anniversary, will have a FUN RUN open to all
heads and members of study and databank groups, clinician-researchers, medical and non-medical staff of St.
Lukes Medical Center, and running enthusiasts.
We cordially invite you to theRBD Fun Run 2:Run for Health. Run for Research.
Join us in a race to (1) promote a healthy and active lifestyle; (2) promote a culture of research at St.
Lukes; and (3) encourage people to participate in clinical research studies and clinical trials. This will be held on21
July 2013 (Sunday) at St. Lukes Medical Center, Quezon City.
Official race call time is 4:30AM in front of SLMC-Medical Arts Building.
For a registration fee of Php350.00, runners can get a race kit which includes a race shirt and race bib.
You can visit and register at RBD, 3rd floor of Annex III. Pre-registration period is from June 24 to July 14, 2013.
Cash prizes will be given to winners and certificates for participants. Runners who will finish the race will also
receive a Finishers kit.
Come and be part of this fun-filled activity to foster and strengthen camaraderie among SLMC associates!

WHO MAY JOIN?


This is a 5-kilometer (5 km) Fun Run Activity open to all SLMC heads and members of study and databank
groups, clinician-researchers, and medical and non-medical associates of SLMC Quezon City and Global City.
Running enthusiasts who are not members of the SLMC family are also welcome.

WHERE TO REGISTER AND PAY?


Registration forms are available at the Research and Biotechnology Division (RBD) or can be downloaded
from www.facebook.com/rbdfunrun. Submit accomplished forms by fax, email, or in person to Veni Liles or Kay
Costales of RBD, 3rd floor of Annex III, St. Lukes Medical Center-Quezon City, Fax No. 726-0467, email addresses
veni_liles18@yahoo.com or kayluy@ymail.com.
Payment of registration fee can be done thru the following:
1. Cash in person to Veni Liles or Kay Costales of RBD upon submission of registration form, or
2. By bank deposit to Jeanilyn Kay Luy Costales with BPI St. Lukes account no. 003899-0505-32. Fax BPI
deposit slip as proof of payment and accomplished registration form to Fax. No. 726-0467, or
3. Cash on site to Kay Costales at the registration desk (shirt size may not be guaranteed)

REGISTRATION
1. Pre-Registration (June 24 to July 14, 2013): The participant shall visit RBD to submit the accomplished
registration form and pay the corresponding registration fee.
2. On-site Registration (July 21, 2013 4:30 to 5:00 a.m.): A participant unable to pre-register may still join and
register on-site during the day of the race at a designated area in the Medical Arts Building (MAB), SLMC-QC
but are not guaranteed to a race shirt size of their preference.
3. The Registration fee of Php350.00 is inclusive of a race kit which includes the race shirt and race bib.
MECHANICS
1. There will be two categories:
a. Mens 5 kmrace
b. Womens 5 km race
2. Interested participants must be physically fit.
3. Participants shall register on or before 14 July 2013. The race kit which includes the race shirt and race bib
will be provided upon registration.
4. Participants shall come in appropriate running attire or else they will be disqualified from winning the cash
prize.
5. Race bib should be pinned in front of the shirt and must be worn at all times during the race.
6. Thirty (30) minutes before the start of the run, all participants will be ushered and asked to convene in front
of Medical Arts Building (MAB) Front Parking of St. Lukes Medical Center Quezon City for the
announcement of the rules and warm up exercises.
7. The 5 km Fun Run will start promptly at 5:30 a.m. at the Medical Arts Building (MAB) Front Parking of St.
Lukes Medical Center Quezon City.
8. The race will officially commence at the cue of the start shot.
9. There will be marshals assigned to guide the participants along the route of the fun run.
10. Four (4) water stations will be available at designated areas along the route (1.25 km marker and finish line).
11. A medical team will be on stand-by at designated areas along the route.
12. An ambulance will be available to pick-up runners who are unable to continue with the race for health
reasons. Marshals patrolling along route are in charge of assessing the participants condition. The
participant who is not able to finish the race will be transported back to St. Lukes Medical Center.
13. All the participants who have successfully completed the race shall proceed directly to the Medical Arts
Building (MAB) Front Parking for the Finishers kit and a brief awarding ceremony.
14. Top finishers who have crossed the finish line will be determined through the time record they achieved as
recorded by the time keepers of the event. A video camera will be installed at the finish line to settle
differences between contesting runners.
15. There will be separate winners (first, second and third) among men and women runners. Each winner will
receive cash prize and a certificate. All non-winners will receive certificates of participation.

ADDITIONAL RULES AND REGULATIONS


1. The organizers reserve the right to cancel the event without notice if they consider this necessary for safety
reasons. The organizers will exert all means to post prior notice, whenever possible, at the race website for
any change to the event details, or for cancellation of the event due to inclement weather and/or force
majeure.
2. Each runner will compete on the approved race route as directed and will not accept outside assistance.
3. The Chief Race Marshals decision is final and irrevocable.
4. The organizers reserve the right to reject or cancel any entry at any time.
5. No refunds of registration fees.
6. No obstruction is to be caused to the movement of vehicular traffic.
7. The only vehicles permitted to follow the event are official race vehicles.
8. In the event of a tie, the tied competitors will be placed in ascending order of their race numbers.
9. No dogs are permitted to accompany runners.
