MAKEMET
Utility
Issue of not being able to select the Non-Default Method 2 option under
the Source Pathway Gas & Particle Data window with only the NonDefault option selected in the Control Pathway was resolved.
Under the MAKEMET Utility (accessed from the Tools menu), when the
water land use category was selected, a surface roughness of 0.0 was
being specified instead of 0.0001 due to the limitation on the number of
decimal places allowed in the field. This issue has been resolved.

MPI
Resolved an issue where adding line source nodes in the Source window
created a row which could not be selected.
A new update of the Lakes AERMOD MPI for the US EPA Model Version
12060 is now available and it will replace the exe provided with AERMOD
View Version 7.6 (AERMOD_MPI_Lakes_12060.exe).
This new compiled AERMOD MPI executable contains fixes to an issue only
found for projects using the Multi-Year Analysis option (MULTYEAR
keyword). The MULTYEAR option requires the user to run 5 separate
years of met data using five different AERMOD runs. The MULTYEAR
option requires the previous year initialization file to be provided for each
subsequent year run.

The emission rate for the Line Area source can now be input as the total
emission rate for the entire line instead of the emission rate per unit area.
The area sources along the line must be generated before the total line
emission rate can be entered.
Fixed issue in which a fatal error was generated if a line source emission
rate was an integer instead of a real number (e.g., 1E-5 instead of 1.0E-5

Results contours will now default to the Transparent Shade Style after
the model is run. This change makes all lower-layer overlays (e.g., base
maps) easier to see beneath the results contours. Also, the Alpha Blend
option was renamed Transparent option for easy understanding.
Contour levels are now set using the Natural value distribution algorithm
by default. The Natural algorithm creates rounded level values (e.g., 10,
20, 50, 100, 200, etc.).
The default minimum value is now defined as the maximum between the
plot minimum value and the plot maximum value divided by 100.

Import
The Line Area source introduced in AERMOD View Version 7.3 did not
support the specification of variable emissions. This option is now

Now you can import sources with IDs greater than 8 characters and up to
12 characters long from an xls, csv, or tab file.
In AERMOD View Version 7.3, the message Error of database access!"
was being displayed in case any source IDs were greater than 8
characters when sources were being imported from a csv file.
The support for source IDs up to 12-characters long was introduced with
the release of the US EPA AERMOD model version 11103. Please note
that ISCST3 and ISC-PRIME models only support source IDs up to 8characters long.

MAKEMET Utility
The MAKEMET Utility allows you to easily specify the parameters
necessary to run the US EPA MAKEMET program. This program generates
a matrix of meteorological conditions, in the form of AERMET-ready
surface (*.SFC) and profile (*.PFL) files, based on user-specified surface
characteristics, ambient temperatures, minimum wind speed, and
anemometer height.
You have access to this utility by selecting Tools |MAKEMET Utility...
from the AERMOD View and AERMET View menu.
The screening met files generated by MAKEMET (*.SFC and *.PFL) can be
used to run the AERMOD model in screening mode by selecting in
AERMOD View, the Run in Screening Mode option available under the
Non-Default Options section of the Control Pathway window.

The Upper Air Variable Ranges tab was introduced under the Upper Air
Pathway which allows the user to specify the lower bound, upper bound,
and missing indicators for the specified surface met file for the QA of
upper air variables.
The US EPA AERMET model has been designed to check for problems with
the upper air data and correct them if the MODIFY keyword is used. The
MODIFY keyword directs AERMET to 'turn on' the process and perform
some preliminary quality control as the data are extracted.
This option is now available under the Upper Air Pathway Upper Air
Data tab.
If Yes is selected for the Adjust Sounding Data option, then the following
actions will be performed by AERMET:

The US EPA AERMET Model Version 11059 now checks for a range of valid
years for the several surface data formats. The acceptable range of years
are as follows:
NWS Surface Format
CD-144
HUSWO
TD-3505 (ISHD)
SAMSON
SCRAM
TD-3280
Start Date
--1/1/1990
--1/1/1961
1/1/1984
---
End Date
12/31/1995
12/31/1995
--12/31/1990
12/31/1992
---
Example: If a SAMSON file is provided for one of the NWS stations which
are present under the ASOS station list (see previous topic) and the year
of the SAMSON file is prior to 1961 or beyond 1990, then AERMET will set
all cloud cover values for the surface output file (*.SFC) as missing (99).
This SFC file will not be appropriate for use with the AERMOD model.
For stations IDs not found in the ASOS list (e.g., 99999, 66666, etc.), a
warning will be given under Stage 1 Report file (*.RP1) but cloud cover
values will not be set to missing.

AERMINUTE Utility
The US EPA released AERMINUTE (Version 11059) on April 8, 2011.
AERMINUTE is a program that processes 1-minute Automated Surface
Observing Stations (ASOS) wind data available from the National Climatic
Data Center (NCDC) in the TD-6405 format.
AERMINUTE generates hourly averaged wind speed and wind direction to
supplement the standard hourly ASOS observations used in AERMET to
improve the number of calms and missing winds.
In AERMET View, you have access to the AERMINUTE Utility under the
Surface section ASOS-1 Minute tab and by pressing the AERMINUTE
