In the movie Exam, eight talented candidates reached the final stage of

assessment for a3

position in a prominent pharmaceutical corporation. In an enclosed room,

they were given instructions not to spoil their paper, not to talk to the guard, and
not to talk to the Invigilator. They tasked to give one answer to a question. After the
instructions were given, they were all asked if they had any questions this was
the question, in which they all missed.
At the end part of the movie the Invigilator explained that the position
requires someone who has sympathy alongside ambition, intelligence, drive and
hard work. What bothers me is what if they all answered No in unison (just like a
normal class answers together when a teacher asks them a simple question) would
they all be accepted for the job? How can they be evaluated? How will the evaluator
know if they acquire the required attributes? Nevertheless, in this paper I propose to
show that Black deserves the job more than Blonde.
The method of evaluation was a good way to look for the best person that fits
the job. However, they should have not made it last-man-standing type, but rather
the-man-who-stood-best type. Blonde does not deserve the job. She hardly did
anything. She gave no ideas. She offered no help. She just did what everyone told
her. Okay, she remembered her hairpin which saved Whites life, she remember the
room was voice-activated, and she remembered what candidate 1 said; you could
say shes sympathetic and incredibly retentive, but where is intelligence? Drive?
Hard work? She just won because she was the last to stay. My point, she does not
acquire the required attributes. Black does. Almost all of the ideas came from Black.
From the UV lights to the fire sprinklers. He is very active. You can say that he is
very ambitious because he just kept on blurting out ideas. Not just mediocre ideas
though, he knew a lot of things and all his ideas are very sensible, which makes him
intellectual. You may argue What makes Black sympathetic? He even tied a sick
person to a chair! That was before he thought White was just faking, but when
White started convulsing he knew it was real (because he knows a lot of things) and
looked for the pill undoubtedly.
Black deserves the job. There is no reason why Black should not have the job. Even
basing solely on the rules given by the Invigilator, he and Blonde have the same
odds of getting the job. He did not spoil his paper and did not talk to the evaluators.
The job requires the skill set Black has to offer and he has compellingly executed
them all throughout the evaluation.
