Preparation, Characterization and Catalytic Testing of Copper Ferrites Prepared from Red Mud
Work (Aluminum Industry Waste)
Organization: The Energy Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi
Period:
Jan13-Jul13
Description: The project investigated the possibility of preparing Copper Ferrites by co-precipitation from
various Red Mud Leaching Acids, which were prepared by using different acids (HCL, H 2So4,
Oxalic Acid) followed by characterization of the Copper Ferrite using BET Surface Area, X-ray
Diffraction and FTIR Analysis. The Spinel obtained by various acid leaching sources were
tested for catalytic activity for Toluene total oxidation.
