Robotic palletising

High output through short cycle times

CSi can optimise the number and range of the
robots movements using software routines
based on many years of experience in material
handling. In addition, the construction
and weight of a gripper tool enable rapid
movements without disturbance or damage to
the product. Special materials such as carbon
and titanium can be used to achieve the lightest
weight possible.

The friend of the operator

The role of the operator is the most important
factor influencing output and in this regard CSis
HMI touch screen is unique. Through the use of
pictograms it has become a truly intuitive user
interface. The complete PHRi can be displayed
and important errors reported transparently.
The HMI can be adjusted or even custom made
in specific situations to obtain the best fit.
Showing only information that is relevant at the
time makes the HMI user friendly and effective.

Very low maintenance costs

Maintenance on a PHRi is low, and the Mean
Time Between Failures is considerable. However,
when maintenance is required, the system
must be up and running again as quickly as
possible. CSi designs the cells in such a way that
maintenance personnel can quickly access all
critical parts. Several components are equipped
with condition monitoring, signaling before
breakdown that maintenance is required. CSis
24/7 support combined with the local presence
of a CSi service provider affords a prompt
response in all instances.

Any pallet, any product, any package, on or off

CSi offers a complete range of robotic solutions for material handling: either at the end of the production or
packaging lines or in a central place with buffers. The robot can work from as many lines to as many pallet
positions as space permits. The grippers are provided with local I/O to reduce wiring in the robot arm. This
facilitates greater functionality when extending the gripper. Robots can be programmed to move flexibly in
many different patterns. In addition, CSi construct gripper tools and pick points in a cell layout designed for
optimal use. In this way, the PHRi can handle a wide variety of products without any disturbance or loss of
changeover time.

Guaranteed production output

The availability of CSis Product Handling
Robot (PHRi) is extremely high. Based on top
quality components, standardized modules,
and many years of relevant experience, the
performance of the robotic cells is unmatched
in the market. Tool protection and collision
detection are measures taken (mechanically
and in the software) to prevent stoppage due
to damages.

High value of ownership

The combination of available
standard solutions and
bespoke adjustments
generates an excellent price /
performance. Whenever possible,
CSi integrates the periphery controls
in the robot controller thus saving a
PLC and gaining overview on the HMI
screen. Strategic partnerships with top
suppliers make relatively short order
lead times possible.
With sustainability in mind, the robots
are equipped with automatic speed
control. When the inflow of products
slows down, the robot slows down and
consumes less energy.

Crucial components
A-brand robots
CSi uses only A-brand robots in its design. These strategic partners offer
specific robots for material handling solutions. Fully reliable and service is
possible across the globe.

Unique user interface

The design of the HMI touch screen is unique. Through the use of
pictograms it has become a truly intuitive user interface. The robotic cell is
displayed and relevant errors clearly indicated. The HMI can be customised
to suit the needs of every customer.
Customised grippers
Grippers are the most crucial part of a robotic cell. Only the best
combination of gripper, pick point and software guarantees high reliability
throughout the process. CSi has built up a large collection of various
grippers based on the clamp hook, vacuum or shuffle principle.
Safe move principle
With the safe move principle, material handling can continue even when
people enter the robots immediate vicinity. High level production can
continue whilst personal safety is guaranteed. This principle also renders the
cell less complicated and therefore more transparent.
Reduced commissioning time
CSi uses the software of the supplier but is able to optimise the capabilities
of the robot. Off line, real time simulation of the movements is possible and
enables virtual testing, which shortens on site commissioning time.
