INT. KENNEDY RESEARCH LABORATORIES TESTING HALL - NIGHT


A grainy lab tape is playing, it is fast paced and a fast
music accompanies it. It is edited in colors that are not
natural, and an uptight pace carries the audience through a
series of events. At various points we suddenly jump-zoom
into the shot or de-focus to give it a more unnatural tone.
There is a watermark on the video that says: Project Hornet
A rifle sits on a hanger atop a table.
LAB SUPERVISOR (O.S.)
Test number 1, cloning of
conventional weapons for rapid
deployment. Machine set on particle
multiplier.
The emitter charges up and the screen flashes with a
brilliant light as the ray hits the gun. After the flash a
rifle drops to the table in front of the stand loaded with
the original rifle.
SCIENTIST walks onto the scene and picks up the cloned
weapon. He walks off screen and fires a few shots.
LAB SUPERVISOR (O.S.)(CONTD)
Test number 1, cloning of
conventional weapons for rapid
deployment successful.
SWAT GUARD stands in front of a lab wall with meter
measurements marking the wall behind him.
LAB SUPERVISOR (O.S.) (CONTD)
Is the machine in place?
SCIENTIST (O.S.)
Yes. We are a go.
LAB SUPERVISOR (CONTD)
Subject number 3, trained personnel
cloning, test number 1, machine
set on particle multiplier.
SCIENTIST
Powering the machine on.
A slow buzzing sound from low to high warms the machine up as
it glows with blue hue.
In the bottom of the view an emitter charges up and flashes
the laboratory wall. The digital camera loses focus and gets
blurry in the flash and struggles to readjust.

SCIENTIST (CONTD)
I cant believe it!
LAB SUPERVISOR
Alright everyone stay back, stay
off the machine.
SCIENTIST
Confirm the test, Donald.
As the buzzing light particles die down the camera can focus
again, there are two SWAT GUARDs standing next to each other.
They look at each other surprised, they are the same person.
LAB SUPERVISOR
Test number 1, particle
multiplication test, subject number
3, successful.
CUT TO:
A small dog is standing on a table against the lab wall.
LAB SUPERVISOR (O.S.) (CONTD)
Test number 47, .
The emitter charges up off screen and fires the ray, the
screen flashes with energy. The dog yelps and there is a
splash. We cannot see the results as something has splattered
the camera.
LAB SUPERVISOR (O.S.)(CONTD)
Test number 47, weaponized
application of the ray successful.
CUT TO:
A small cylinder sits on the table, it has radioactive
warnings printed on it.
LAB SUPERVISOR (O.S.) (CONTD)
Test number 189, cloning of weapons
grade enriched plutonium.
SCIENTIST (O.S.)
Emitter in place.
The emitter starts to charge up off screen.
SCIENTIST (O.S.) (CONTD)
Lab crew, brace yourselves.

SCIENTIST (CONTD)
Three, two, one...
The screen flashes with the ray and slowly fades to dark.
LAB SUPERVISOR (O.S.)
Gentlemen, we have a weapon.
The lab supervisor declares in disbelief.
CUT TO:
INT. JOHNSONS APARTMENT - NIGHT
A light and classy tune is playing in a tidy room (PP).
JOHNSON is getting ready.
JOHNSON slowly puts on his leather gloves and stretches them
against his fingers.
JOHNSON gently tosses a handgun on the table, with the
momentum of the toss we pan across the same table to see a
set of passports. There is a Russian, Kazakh, Iranian,
Indian, Turkish, Israeli and Chinese passport in an arranged
row.
He pours a can of Dr. Pepper into a glass of ice, then swirls
a few Adderal pills inside with it before sipping from it. In
the barely lit room, he reads a document which sits on the
table, we get a look of its content from behind his shoulder.
The document reads Kennedy Research Labs Top Secret Device
In the document there are several pictures of the government
video tape that displayed the prototype tests. There is also
a drawing of the device. He closes the file.
The picture of a scrawny scientist sits on the table
workstation that JOHNSON has forged an ID on, cut out with a
precision knife. Glue, tweezers and cut up bits of paper sit
on the table as well. JOHNSON picks up the ID and tucks it in
a pocket.
JOHNSON gently pushes his tie into place with finesse as he
has his black gloves on.
As he lights up a cigar, thick cigar smoke twirls around his
workstation and his suit as he types out a message on his
phone (CGI the message appears next to him in phone graphics:
Im on my way to the lab.)

He leaves the room as he closes the door behind him and walks
down the hallway.
CUT TO:
EXT. KENNEDY RESEARCH LABORATORIES - NIGHT
JOHNSON walks past the camera toward a building, the Kennedy
Research Laboratory. It has the colors of the US government
and its emblem above its entrance door.
After entering the security gate JOHNSON is stopped by a
STANDING GUARD while another sits alert at a table looking at
them both. SITTING GUARD has a serious gaze.
In close-up we see JOHNSON reach inside his jacket and
reveals the ID. In an over the shoulder shot we see STANDING
GUARD looks at him and waves him on.
INT. KENNEDY RESEARCH LABORATORIES - NIGHT
JOHNSON approaches a biometric security device and takes out
a finger and places it on the scanner (camera stationary of
tripod, JOHNSON slowly guides a crew members hand onto the
device, then moves off screen for a clean plate, then use
masking to achieve the effect). The device beeps green and
the glass doors are unlocked. He pushes past the door,
walking into a hall where a US government eagle is printed on
the entrance wall.
Approaching another door he waves the fake ID in front of the
ID scanner and pushes past the next door.
He walks down the hall towards two guards which are sitting
next to each other in a big lobby. One of them is reading a
newspaper and smoking, the other is texting on his phone and
his text appears next to him in graphics. He is talking to
his girlfriend, as Lancaster approaches they do not notice
him approaching them. He quickly unloads two silenced shots
into the guard who is texting from behind the chair of the
one who is reading a paper, the text bubble quickly fades
out. Then he jabs the others neck with his knuckles. There
is cracking sound and the guard is paralyzed, his cigarette
still between his lips. SMOKING GUARD 1 is dead, but SMOKING
GUARD 2 stares at Lancaster who picks up the newspaper from
his hands. SMOKING GUARD 2s eyes are slowly turning red, he
makes muffled noises with his throat as JOHNSON looks at him
from an elevated angle.
JOHNSON
Project Marker Man, where?

SMOKING GUARD 2 makes more noises as his eyes are getting


redder and redder. JOHNSON grabs the cigarette from SMOKING
GUARD 1s mouth and puts it between SMOKING GUARD 2s lips.
SMOKING GUARD 2 looks down at the cigarette burning near his
lips as the smoke now bothers his eyes. He makes more noises.
JOHNSON nods.
SMOKING GUARD 2 makes some more noises as he has only his
eyes to move with. He looks down at the cigarette thats
burning dangerously close to his lips.
JOHNSON reaches towards the cigarette and hovers his hand
around it.
JOHNSON (CONTD)
Where?
SMOKING GUARD 2 looks down the hall to another direction and
makes noises.
JOHNSON pulls the cigarette out and tosses it. Then he walks
in the direction the guard pointed at with the newspaper as
SMOKING GUARD 2 follows him with his red eyes and makes more
uncomfortable noises, blood trickles down his nose.

JOHNSON slowly walks down the hall as another guard


approaches him, JOHNSON is holding the newspaper up and
reading it. As the guard is passing JOHNSON in the hall
JOHNSON punches the man and wraps the newspaper around his
head. Then smacks his head into the wall with a loud thud.
JOHNSON lets go of the man and he slids down the wall
smearing it.
JOHNSON Approaches a glassed room labeled Research Hall. He
enters the door. We hear two silenced gunshots before we go
in with JOHNSON.
JOHNSON zigzags between the tables inside the room and
approaches a specific one. He aims his gun at something that
is off screen and shoots. We hear metallic clanking, then he
bends down to pick something up. We hear some more metallic
noise as a door is being forced open. When he stands up he is
holding a folder. He puts the thick folder on the table and
opens it to flip through. it has Project Marker Man in
black and Top Secret in red printed on the cover. Inside
it, the Marker Man machine is described with diagrams,
pictures, lists and etc. He flips through a few pages of the
bookmarked sections in the file. He looks at the picture of
the guard and the cloned guard and nods.

Then he flips a page and sees the small dog test and smiles
calmly. He closes the file and heads to the door.
Leaving the research office he exits by turning a corner at
the end of the hallway.
EXT. KENNEDY RESEARCH LABORATORIES - NIGHT
He approaches the two guards, shooting the one sitting at his
desk first, then the one standing in the middle of the lobby.
The guard who was standing in the middle of the lobby crawls
towards him as JOHNSON passes him, moving to the exit. The
guard pulls out a handgun but JOHNSON quickly bends down and
grabs it from his hand.
JOHNSON
We dont want to wake the
neighbors.
JOHNSON kicks the wounded guard in the stomach. Then he
leaves the building as we see him walk away from the entrance
of the building behind the revolving doors.
CUT TO:
INT. NEWSROOM - DAY
A TV host speaks in the newsroom.
NEWS ANCHOR
The break-in happened late
Wednesday evening as a surprise to
the security personnel which were
undergoing management change.
Sources say top secret weapons
blueprints were stolen. The chief
of security at the lab was unaware
of the changes made to the security
measures. This follows after
president Cruz replaced domestic
security officials following a bill
pushed by through by Congress
earlier this year.
INT. MEETING ROOM - DAY
TED CRUZ
I told them something like this
could happen. They didnt listen.
Now this puts me in a weak
position.`

President TED shuts the TV with the remote as he turns his


chair to his table of generals and ministers. We slowly move
backwards on the meeting table as the attendees nod in
agreement.
TED CRUZ (CONTD)
I was told, Mr. Lyndon, by your
office, that the Kennedy Labs were
secure!
One of the tie-clad officials, the minister of intelligence,
MR. LYNDON answers him.
MR. LYNDON
A month ago security was so tight
that if you stuck coal in those
labs Id hand you diamond! But I
had to pull men out because of the
security bill.
TED CRUZ
What direction are we heading now?
MR. LYNDON shifts in his seat uncomfortably.
MR. LYNDON
Ill be blunt Ted. If youre
looking to run reelections with a
security campaign, dont. Those
blueprints are out to kill you.
We see quick close-ups of the expressions of the attendees as
they think nervously.
MR. LYNDON (O.S.) (CONTD)
The reaction we will get when
people find out we have a master
weapon like this... China, Iran,
Russia, Venezuela, I could go on
but the first three are enough to
put the fun in funeral!
President TED scowls.
TED CRUZ
The machine clones things for Gods
sake! It doesnt launch rockets!
MR. LYNDON (O.S.)
The Soviet Union collapsed because
it didnt have enough washing
machines, cars, and vibrating
dildos to go around, it had plenty
of ICBMs. No shortage, no end!

SPECIAL AGENT SMITH who is sitting next to MR. LYNDON turns


to him. LYNDON sits forward excitedly.
MR. LYNDON (CONTD)
Lets say on the other hand some
dirty terrorists get their hands on
it. Believe me it is much easier to
train an airforce when you only
have to teach them to take off!
There is an awkward silence as the ministers play with pens
and run their fingers over the side of their water glasses.
TED CRUZ
You people didnt paddywaddle your
way to the White House, you are
here precisely so we can deal with
a crisis like this together. Now I
need you to tell me, what is it
exactly we need to do to get out of
this.
The foreign minister turns to the president.
JULIA KOCH
We need to recover the weapons
blueprints.
MR. LYNDON sits back and scratches the side of his mouth. TED
fires the next question.
TED CRUZ
Whats our intel?
MR. LYNDON
We have chat logs all over the
place, but from what we managed to
pin together, the plans are on
their way to leave the US.
TED CRUZ
Where to?
MR. LYNDON
A team calling itself The Tiger
Group is involved. They either have
the plans, or are a middleman. They
take dirty jobs for pay,
assassinations, industrial
sabotage, money laundering. Theyre
based in Cape Town, but weve
followed them into China in the
past weeks.

TED CRUZ
Next time congressman Murray gives
me a bill, Im going to break the
veto stamp on it. Now that it
caused blunders like this it will
definitely blow up in his face.
MR. LYNDON
Kennedy Labs were under the direct
oversight of the White House.
Congress doesnt even know of the
project! I suggest you decommission
it now. Murray would simply accuse
you of running this project under
the security radar! Congress might
even bring up impeachment
TED CRUZ
Well, that's not about to happen.
We need an action plan and we need
to make sure that those blueprints
are destroyed.
MR. LYNDON
We must send our best men, people
who will be smart on the ground. A
big team will make the Chinese
suspicious. We dont have the
luxury of time either. This file
landed on my desk this morning, I
think we have our men.
MR. LYNDON throws a small folder to the middle of the table.
TED CRUZ
Who are these men?
CUT TO:
INT. LANCASTERS APARTMENT - MORNING
LANCASTER doing pushups on the ground in a white T-Shirt.
(very slow vertigo effect)
LANCASTER
Seventy seven...seventy
eight....seventy nine...eighty!
LANCASTER collapses on the ground panting. He gets up tiredly
after a few seconds.
He then walks past the camera to place a bag of popcorn into
the microwave.

After he closes the microwave door he leans against the


counter and opens up a TWIX chocolate bar. As he bites into
it, his phone rings. He picks it up.
LANCASTER (CONTD)
Lancaster speaking.
US OPERATIONS SECRETARY
There is a mission.
LANCASTER
Is this about what Im hearing
about Kennedy Labs?
US OPERATIONS SECRETARY
It is precisely that. You are going
to China with Mayes.
LANCASTER
When and where?
US OPERATIONS SECRETARY
The airport. In one hour.
LANCASTER hangs up the phone.
As he is leaning against the counter he thinks as he bites
the chocolate bar again. Then he dials a number on his phone.
LANCASTER
Its me. I need you to bring the
file to me. There has been a change
of plans, Ill bring the blueprints
to Tiger myself.
He hangs up.
We focus on Lancasters eyes. A slight dutch angle offsets
the mood as he chews. The microwave is still running,
suddenly it *dings*.
CUT TO:
EXT. AIRPLANE - DAY
A passenger airline jet zips past the camera.
FADE TO BLACK.
We see text. 12 Hours Later.
FADE IN:

INT. AIRPLANE - NIGHT


The airplane is in flight at night. (CGI)
Inside Lancaster is sitting by a window with the wing visible
as well. The camera is stationary and only focuses on
Lancaster and Mayes in their seats. (CGI, Green Screen)
MAYES
Well, back in the big games. It
never gets old.
For LANCASTER its very different, he has been an experienced
agent so none of this is new to him. He thinks to himself as
he looks out the window. Then he replies very flatly.
LANCASTER
Yeah.
The in flight announcement plays over speakers.
FLIGHT ATTENDANT (V.O.)
Ladies and gentlemen, now were on
our final approach to Dalian
Airport where the local time is
11:45 PM and the temperature is 12
degrees below Celsius. We thank you
for flying ___________.
CUT TO:
EXT. DALIAN AIRPORT - NIGHT
LANCASTER and MAYES walk out of the airport coldly and wait
on the sidewalk as LANCASTER speaks on his phone. With him,
he has a small briefcase.
US OPERATIONS SECRETARY (V.O.)
We have an agent waiting for you
at the airport. He is familiar with
the locals and his network is
crucial. Work with him and keep in
the shadows.
Just then, LANCASTER spots a man further ahead holding a sign
that says LANCASTER next to a very big black car.
LANCASTER
I spotted him. I guess he doesnt
know about keeping in the shadows.
Ill call you when we are set.

LANCASTER and MAYES get into the backseat and shut the doors.
The driver looks around and gets in.
CUT TO:
INT. KIDNAPPER CAR - NIGHT
Immediately after the driver gets in and shuts the door
behind him, the car doors lock, the man sitting in the
passenger seat turns around and points a gun at LANCASTER and
MAYES.
AGENT 7
Be quiet now.
CUT TO:
EXT. DALIAN AIRPORT - NIGHT
As the car pulls away from the sidewalk the camera pans to
reveal SPECIAL AGENT JAMESON shutting a taxi door and
approaching the airport gates from the sidewalk, on his
phone.
JAMESON
I just got off the cab.
He stops and pauses to look around.
JAMESON (CONTD)
What do you mean? No, I just got
here. It wasnt me Lancaster met.
CUT TO:
INT. KIDNAPPER CAR - NIGHT
In the car, AGENT 7 talks as AGENT 8 is driving. AGENT 7 is
pointing a gun at LANCASTER. LANCASTER frowns.
MAYES
Whats all this?
LANCASTER
Be calm. They are from Tiger Group.
AGENT 7
Thats right. Now hand over the
case.
LANCASTER reluctantly hands the case over.

MAYES silently but furiously looks at LANCASTER. He


distastefully says.
MAYES
You are a traitor.
LANCASTER tightens his lips and sits back while he nods.
MAYES (CONTD)
Dont you know what those plans can
do?
LANCASTER looks out the window instead of looking at MAYES.
LANCASTER
Its not important what they can do.
MAYES
DAMMIT LANNY! They could destroy
the world with it!
MAYES grabs LANCASTER from his collar and shakes him. He
pulls LANCASTERs face closer.
MAYES (CONTD)
WHY? WHY? Tell me why you had to
ruin everything!?
MAYES has a bewildered face and is panting.
LANCASTER is looking MAYES in the eye as he slowly reaches
for MAYES hands and pulls them away from his collar.
LANCASTER
You wouldnt care!
MAYES retreats to his corner slowly as he still looks at
LANCASTER with hostility.
AGENT 7
No worries, were going somewhere
nice where you will forget about
all of this nasty business.
The driver laughs silently.
An aerial shot follows the car driving along in the dark and
empty road.
CUT TO:

INT. DARK ROOM - NIGHT


AGENT 7 is sitting across from LANCASTER and MAYES as AGENT 8
paces behind them.
Both LANCASTERs and MAYESs complexions are pale tired. On
the other side of the table, AGENT 7 playing with a big
metallic syringe, sitting on the table in front of him is a
container with a green fluid, one with blue, and one with
yellow, while two empty containers are there as well.
AGENT 8
There we go. Two shots for each of
you. Feeling drowsy? Stay with me
princess, this is just the
beginning.
AGENT 7 points the needle at the green fluid.
AGENT 7
When I stick you the green one you
will blabber away every little
thought you have.
He moves the syringe onto the next one, the blue one.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
Then the blue one, you will slowly
pass out into a temporary form of
Alzheimer's...
He sets the needle onto the yellow one. A closeup of him as
he says
AGENT 7 (O.S.) (CONTD)
... the yellow fluid will make sure
when you wake up, your memories are
as clean as a whistle.
LANCASTER leans forward drowsily.
LANCASTER
You already got what you want. Why?
Even if you wipe us they will find
you, and theyll throw you in a
ditch!
AGENT 7
I dont know if you watch it, but
in the MMA there is this first
moment, this moment where your
rival feels the impact of your
first jab.
(MORE)

AGENT 7 (CONT'D)
Its nauseating when he realizes
that the pep talks the hype, and
psyching himself up before the
match had been a delusion all
along.

AGENT 7 (CONTD)
When president Ted comes out for
the first news conference to
announce what has been stolen from
America, you are going to see that
in his face. When he reveals that
he also lost his agents will only
make that look stick on for longer.
AGENT 7 plays with the needle as he goes.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
Some vote, some run campaigns, some
heist billion dollar weapons
blueprints, there are many ways to
play politics... Yes...
A closeup of AGENT 7s face as he enunciates each word slowly
and adamantly.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
...I like, playing, politics.
CUT TO:
INT. CAFE - NIGHT
AGENT 4 approaches JAMESON who is sitting inside a cafe,
having a video conversation with US OPERATIONS SECRETARY as
he smokes.
JAMESON
He never showed up. His phone is
also dead.
US OPERATIONS SECRETARY responds, but we see their
conversation from behind the screen so we only hear her voice
but we dont see her.
US OPERATIONS SECRETARY
Jameson you are our only connection
to him on the ground. You need to
find him.

AGENT 4 sets down a plate of cheese cake in front of JAMESON


and shoots him twice in the chest with a silenced handgun as
he gets close. AGENT 4 leans JAMESON back against his chair
before leaving.
AGENT 4
Nighty night.
JAMESON is facing the video chat screen with his mouth open,
and the rest of the room bluntly out of focus.
US OPERATIONS SECRETARY
What was that? Jameson?
CUT TO:
INT. NEWSROOM - NIGHT
A news anchor speaks in the studio room.
NEWS ANCHOR
America Under Attack! The shooting
comes next in a series of attacks
on American security installations
and personnel. The recent break-in
at the Kennedy Research Laboratory
raised eyebrows at the security
bill passed last month. Our news
correspondent in China has more for
us as the story develops.
CUT TO:
INT. MEETING ROOM - NIGHT
President TED is watching the news anchor speak. He stands up
and turns off the TV with the remote.
TED CRUZ
Find the blueprints. Find them no
matter what it takes. Otherwise the
press is going to steamroll through
KRL.
He walks away.
The meeting attendees look at MR. LYNDON nervously, who says.

MR. LYNDON
Constructive input is all Im
accepting now.
CUT TO:
INT. DARK ROOM - NIGHT
The yellow needle is held in front of the blurry camera. The
view is blurry and represents Lancasters vision.
We cut out of LANCASTERs point of view to discover that
AGENT 7 and LANCASTER are alone in the room.
LANCASTER is trying hard to stay awake.
LANCASTER
Where is Mayes?
He mutters.
AGENT 7
Hes with number eight. Hes having
the yellow needle, dont worry,
youll get your turn. But first I
want to tell you something. When
Mayes asked you dont you know
what those blueprints can do?...
7 does a silly impression of MAYES facing towards the camera.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
...You you said its not important
what they can do. I took that as a
bit offensive to my line of work.
So let me tell you what we are
going to do with those plans.
There is a pause. Lancaster asks again.
LANCASTER
Where is Mayes?
AGENT 7 punches LANCASTER in the face with a heavy blow.
LANCASTERs face is bruised.
AGENT 7
I assume you read stories, and you
watch movies, correct?
We see a Medium Close Up of Agent 7 as he speaks.

AGENT 7 (CONTD)
Well you see, there is always the
underdog and the big brother. Big
Brother keeps winning over the
underdog, again and gain, until our
underdog does something that shifts
the balance of the story. That
moment when the underdog looks at
Big Brother...
We see a Closeup of 7.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
...and sees himself.
He pauses for a second as he ponders, and continues again in
a Medium Close Up.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
The underdog and Big Brother are
both little people, with little
figures, who want to climb to the
top and stay there even if they
have to do something undignified.
We pull out and see AGENT 7 sitting next to LANCASTER at the
corner of the table, 7 reaches to a pale, dizzy and bruised
LANCASTER and holds hid chin up and speaks with zeal.

7 grabs LANCASTER around his head and pulls him forward as


they almost touch foreheads as he becomes more enchanted in
his own words and shakes with every sentence. (Similar to
Agent Smith in MATRIX interrogation scene) It is from the
point of view of LANCASTER as he sees 7 very close to his
face.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
We give the underdog that moment of
clarity. We tell him, that Big
Brother is his equal. And you
watch, as he strikes blow after
blow and brings the beast of our
story to his knees!...
LANCASTERs vision blacks out momentarily and his ears ring
with a beep. He comes back to the situation moments later.

From behind LANCASTER we see an over the shoulder angle of


their conversation as LANCASTER is still struggling to stay
awake.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
When these plans reach the right
people, the world will change! The
ones stuck in a desert, living
under a gun, when they get their
hands on this...
7 nods his head as he looks at LANCASTER.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
You cannot run, you cannot hide.
Its like Santa Claus has come to
town! People like Ted will finally
realize, that the world that you
and I live in are very fragile.
LANCASTER looks at 7 through a pale expression and says
LANCASTER
Youre talking about terrorists.
AGENT 7
They wont be terrorists when you
vote for them, when they collect
taxes, when they run oil fields.
LANCASTER
Number 1 did say you were crazy.
AGENT 7 smiles.
AGENT 7

Closeup, LANCASTER lets his head down and stares at the


ground.
LANCASTER
She didnt even to come and see me
In a weird twist, 7 sits forward and says in a comforting
tone.
AGENT 7
No. She sent us to do that.
LANCASTERs beeping in his head comes back as the room falls
dizzy and out of focus.
LANCASTER
Back stabbers. Back stabb...
LANCASTER cant find the energy to finish his sentences.
Suddenly the sound of a door crashing in breaks the silence.
Some gunshots echo through the hall. 7 sits up and looks at
the rooms door as he pulls out his handgun.
Again we see the room from LANCASTERs blurry view style.
Everything has a trail of light behind it as its blurry.
(High camera shutte speed to give choppy view before added
blur) Suddenly the door is kicked open and two Russians step
in.
AGENT 7 quickly gets up to shoot but the Russian agents shoot
at him. He sways as he stands for a moment and then falls
backwards onto the ground.
Two figures step inside the room. They speak Russian between
themselves.
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI (SUBTITLE)
Grab the two Americans.
RUSSIAN AGENT 1 (SUBTITLE)
What about these two?

The one on the ground might still
make it. Grab him.
Now we jump into LANCASTERs POV vision which is still blurry
and he can hear his own loud internal breathing and heart
beat, but he can see RUSSIAN AGENT 1 pick Agent 7 up from the
ground and carrying him out.

SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI (CONTD)


Now you, stand up.
NIKOLI grabs LANCASTER from behind and pulls him up,
LANCASTER is dizzy and stumbles a few steps behind RUSSIAN
AGENT 1. We follow RUSSIAN AGENT 1 from behind as he carries
AGENT 7 over his shoulder. As they pass another room,
LANCASTER looks inside to find MAYES passed out over a table.
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI (CONTD)
Can you walk on your own? I need to
take your friend.
CUT TO:
EXT. HEI XI JIAO - MORNING
NIKOLI is holding MAYES over his should as LANCASTER walks
behind RUSSIAN AGENT 1 towards a car. RUSSIAN AGENT 1 is
carrying a passed out AGENT 7 over his shoulder. RUSSIAN
AGENT 1 sits AGENT 7 in the backseat of the car. NIKOLI then
sits MAYES next to him. In the opposite angle to the car we
see NIKOLI assist LANCASTERs head into the car as LANCASTER
sits next to MAYES. NIKOLI then slam the door shut and sits
in the passenger side and closes the door. RUSSIAN AGENT 1
puts on his sunglasses and paces around the car to the
drivers seat. We see the back of the car, the backlights and
the plate in the middle. The car plate has been painted over
with smooth black paint (CGI). The engine roars and the car
races away. (vertigo effect)
CUT TO:
Further away on the street two men watch as the car races
away.

I think that was the Russians.

A telephone dial tone is heard. Someone picks it up.

Russians agents raided the base.
Mayers is wiped, but Lancaster only
got as far as the blue needle.
From an aerial shot look inside an empty office building in
rush hour time, completely lit and completely empty.

The deal is tomorrow. The Russians
cannot find out what Lancaster
knows. Even the Americans dont
know about the deal.
AGENT 4

A slowly moving aerial pan of an unmoving street of traffic.

The line ends and the conversation is over. We hear a beep


for a few seconds more as tension is built over the red
traffic glow.
CUT TO:
INT. PADINGTON PUB - NIGHT
BURAK who is smoking sits across form ARSHAD, a table
attendant puts a basket of fries and another basket of onion
rings between them. Except the two, the pub is mostly empty.
The barman is cleaning the counter and chatting. Their
conversations starts in Turkish.
SPECIAL AGENT BURAK (SUBTITLE)
Thank you for meeting with me. What
exactly brings you to Dalian?
ARSHAD smiles and nods.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD (SUBTITLE)
The same thing that brings you here
knocked on our door.
Burak continues the conversation in English.
SPECIAL AGENT BURAK
So is it safe to assume you know
what we are looking for?
ARSHAD picks up a fry and eats it.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
More than safe.
The two pause as the table attendant puts a two piped hookah
between the two of them. The table attendant then leaves.
ARSHAD picks up one end of the hookah and tries it. They
continue their conversation.
SPECIAL AGENT BURAK
Do you know who else is here for
the blueprints?
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Lots of people would look for such
a thing. Only few would know how to
use it though.
As BURAK starts talking again ARSHAD keeps the hookah
boiling, so that their conversation is not stale and they
have something to do while they are listening to the other.

After the table attendant leaves BURAK looks at ARSHAD.

We need to tell them. They can stop

ARSHAD smokes some more and nods.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Ive already talked to the Chinese.
They have an agent working with us,
he knows three people flying into
Dalian tomorrow, I think they are
the buyers. Finish the fries...
then we can call the Americans.
ARSHAD keeps smoking the hookah and Burak thinks some more as
he pulls the fries to himself. We zoom out in a medium
closeup of the table as they continue their conversation.
SPECIAL AGENT BURAK
We have friends in the American
embassy in Beijing, I can ask to...
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Dont worry, we have friends too.
If we tell them about the deal,
well go above all diplomatic
channels. We cannot let the

ARSHAD nods, there is a pause as they carry on more of their
activities. Then BURAK sits forward to tell ARSHAD about

an abandoned office building across

Suddenly two gunshots outside break their conversation.

Speak of the devil!
ARSHAD stops smoking. BURAK stops talking and looks at the
door which starts to open.

In slow motion, the figure of AGENT 4 is revealed and a


booming ambience takes over. As he spots the two agents
sitting at the table he takes out a handgun from his jacket
and starts to take aim (slow Vertigo effect). The camera is
pointing at the table from the angle of AGENT 4 as ARSHAD
slowly turns back to look at AGENT 4. AGENT 4 fires and we
cut to BURAK who is shot and falls sideways on the leather
seat (Extreme Vertigo effect as we follow BURAK to the seat).
ARSHAD gets up and runs towards the man who shoots towards
ARSHAD. His run is in slow motion as bullet fly past his
head. In slow motion ARSHADs fist crashes into AGENT 4s jaw
and we immediately end the scene.
Outside the camera is pointed at a brightly lit sign that
says PADINGTON as we hear gunshots and things breaking which
shake the camera with each sound. (Vertigo effect)
CUT TO:
INT. TIMELINE PUB 4TH FLOOR - NIGHT
MAYES, LANCASTER, and a very wounded but patched up AGENT 7
are sitting at a big table, their hands are set on the table
surface with handcuffs. RUSSIAN AGENT 1 and RUSSIAN AGENT 2
stand over the table as SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI is talking to
the three.
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI
Tell me everything you know about
the blueprints.
LANCASTER
I dont know anything.
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI
They sent you to investigate it,
didnt they?
LANCASTER doesnt know what to say.
LANCASTER
I cant remember.
AGENT 7 laughs.
AGENT 7
He doesnt know anything. We wiped
his head.
NIKOLI turns to him and scowls.

Then you are going to tell me what
you know about the blueprints.
7 smirks as he shifts in his bloody bandages.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
Id say Im already in as much pain

SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI
I dont have any tools with me, and
the bartender is a good friend of
mine. I dont want to make a mess
of his place. So lets stick to
something traditional. Condiments?
NIKOLI nods to RUSSIAN AGENT 1 who asks for salt and pepper
from the bartender. The bartender gives him two shakers.
RUSSIAN AGENT 1 shakes some of both shakers into his palm and
pours the salt and pepper onto
RUSSIAN AGENT 1 picks up a salt shaker and shakes some salt
onto 7s wounds.
AGENT 7
DAMMIT! STOP! ILL TELL YOU!
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI
Go on.
AGENT 7
The blueprints are a new technology
that can deploy an invasion force
anywhere in the world. Its a
weapon.
MAYES and LANCASTER listen.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
A month ago we made contact with
Lancaster. He was on security
detail at Kennedy Research Labs
then. MAYES wasnt into this, he
wasnt even supposed to be here.
MAYES looks at LANCASTER.
AGENT 7 (CONTD)
When Congress passed the security
law, they pulled Lancaster out of
KRL, along with a big chunk of the
security.

East, Agent 1 planned the operation
and Lancaster had someone steal the

condiments onto AGENT 7.

MAYES looks to LANCASTER

The plan was to get the blueprints
smuggled to Dalian after the
Americans found out, we sent out a
few fake chat logs over the net to
get them interested in Dalian. We
thought the safest way to get the
blueprints here was with an
American agent.
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI
I want to know where you keep these
blueprints.
AGENT 7
Theyre with number 1. I really
dont know where she is..
CUT TO:
EXT. TIMELINE PUB - NIGHT
AGENT 4 and AGENT 5 who are wearing long coats pace through
the uncrowded outside of a pub.

We follow them from a very low angle on the ground, and


observe their shoes as they hurry towards the pub. They enter
the pub one after the other. We only see their backs so far.
The two agents walk past the first floor which is a shop
decorated in posh wooden furniture.
INT. TIMELINE PUB STAIRCASE - NIGHT
They climb the stairs up as they reveal two Kalashnikov
rifles from under their coats.
Suddenly they meet RUSSIAN AGENT 3 who is having a smoke in
the staircase. He is shocked to see the two agents. He
quickly pulls out a handgun and shoots at them, the bullet
whizzes past AGENT 4 before he could fire .
Higher up, at the end of the staircase, we see bright flashes
of light and hear the pumping of AKs as bullets fly past.
(done with LED light flash rack) Shortly after, the two
agents climb up the staircase and keep going up the next set
of stairs at the other side of the room.
CUT TO:
INT. TIMELINE PUB 4TH FLOOR - NIGHT
NIKOLI is on the phone with his supervisor. Their
conversation is in Russian.
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI (SUBTITLE)
We found out what was stolen from
the Americans! They are assaulting
the building!
RUSSIAN OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
Leave them, get our men out, keep
them safe, thats priority one!
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI
Understood.
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI hangs up the phone and stands up.
SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI (CONTD)
Orders are to leave them. Find a
back exit somewhere!
NIKOLI moves towards a backdoor and pushes it open as his
agents pass through.
The agents leave, leaving much of their gear behind.

SPECIAL AGENT NIKOLI (CONTD)


Fight another day.
CUT TO:
INT. TIMELINE PUB - NIGHT
AGENT 4 and AGENT 5 are moving up the stairs still when all
the lights go off. The entire hall is empty except for the
light which comes in through the windows. They stop for a
moment and continue up the stairs at a slower pace.
AGENT 4
They killed the power.
AGENT 5
Shoot anything that moves.
As they arrive on the top floor, the 4th, they discover a
deserted room. They carefully raise their rifles and aim in
silence. 7 yells through the darkness.
AGENT 7
THEY HAVE A GUN!
Suddenly out of nowhere a shot is fired and one of the agents
goes down. AGENT 5 is dead on the ground with blood pooling
at AGENT 4s feet.
AGENT 4 raises his gun and starts shooting at the direction
of tables, firing in the blind dark. (mount GoPro at end of
gun, use light rack and shockwave to simulate AGENT 4s face)
He stops after his rifle runs out of bullets. He reaches
inside his coat to pull out a fresh magazine but as he is
doing that, LANCASTER jumps out of the dark and punches the
man, bringing them both down to the ground hard. MAYES runs
down the staircase.
LANCASTER rolls off of AGENT 4 and scrambles towards the
stairs, climbing them down as the agent trails behind him,
fidgeting with his rifle. He raises the rifle and fires a
barrage down the stairs just as LANCASTER leaves. Running out
of bullets, he drops the gun and chases after him.
They both exit the building running.
CUT TO:
EXT. SHUMA - NIGHT
LANCASTER and AGENT 4 dash out of the pub corridor running.
MAYES runs in a different direction.

32.

LANCASTER runs up some stairs with AGENT 4 following closely


behind him. Further down the sidewalk LANCASTER dodges a man
who is reading something on his phone, AGENT 4 pushes the man
to the ground as he passes him. CHINESE BYSTANDER is angry
and shouts after them.
LANCASTER comes to a dark dead end as the agent slows down
behind him.
AGENT 4
You are fast! The stereotypes about
Americans arent true at all!
LANCASTER turns to him panting.
AGENT 4 (CONTD)
You keep running and running. There
will be nowhere to run to after
tomorrow.
LANCASTER
Tomorrow?
AGENT 4
Your memories are still gone.
Thats probably for the best.
LANCASTER looks at the agent with scared disgust.
LANCASTER
How was... I was on a mission for
you. I took some plans, some
blueprints, you used me!
AGENT 4
It must be the adrenaline. Are you
remembering?
LANCASTER looks to 4 accusingly.
LANCASTER
You wiped my memory.
AGENT 4
Thats the idea, yeah.
LANCASTER pants and rests his hands on his knees as he
remembers more. He looks up at AGENT 4.
LANCASTER
You are going to sell them. Its
tomorrow!
AGENT 4 pulls out a dagger while still panting.

AGENT 4
Your memories should have been gone
for a bit longer, like Mayes. No
worries, Im here for that.
Suddenly, from the dark blur that is behind the agent, a new
voice says.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Drop that knife.
AGENT 4 turns slightly to see SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD standing
behind him, bleeding from his forehead, we re-focus to reveal
him, raising a handgun towards AGENT 4.
AGENT 4
You will not get your hands on
those blueprints.
AGENT 4 lets go of the knife and it drops to the ground.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Youre doing business with the
devil.
AGENT 4
Damn Iranians, we do business with
the highest bidder.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
But you dont do it for the money.
As 4 is still panting, he says.
AGENT 4
You are right. Everyone has their
hands clenched around everyones
throat, but terrorists are the only
ones who would squeeze if we gave
them the power to.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Save your socio-philosophy bullshit
for yourself.
AGENT 4
There is nothing you can do to stop
us.

are, drop that gun and fight me!
AGENT 4 hold his fists up for a fist fight.
We see ARSHAD look at him from behind the aimed handgun. He
then tosses the gun away and steps forward with his fists
raised.
Section 1:
A fast paced music slowly builds up to the next punch, before
that we see a shakey medium closeup of AGENT 4 which shows us
his serious eyes setting on ARSHAD and him getting mentally
ready to fight. Then we see a shakey medium closeup of ARSHAD
who is serious and calm as he holds his fists near himself,
also getting ready.
(1) AGENT 4 throws a punch with his left fist, ARSHAD catches
his left punch with his left hand and (2) pulls 4 towards
himself as he throws a counterpunch with his right hand which
hits 4 in the face. (3) 4 catches ARSHADs right fist with
his right hand after the punch and pulls him down with the
momentum. (4) Then he kicks ARSHAD in the chest with his
knee. (5) 4 hits ARSHADs back with his elbow.
(6) As ARSHAD is bent down, he grabs AGENT 4s right leg and
pulls it sideways, AGENT 4 falls backfirst on the ground. (7)
ARSHAD kicks him in the chest with his left foot. (8) AGENT 4
holds onto ARSHADs foot after the kick, then twists his own
feet up into the air and lands them on the other side, then
pulls ARSHADs feet and forces him to fall onto the ground.
(9) AGENT 4 stands up fast and as ARSHAD looks back he throws
a punch which lands in ARSHADs left cheek. (10) As AGENT 4
is facing ARSHAD downwards, ARSHAD throws his two feet into
the air, kicking AGENT 4 in the chest and throwing him away.
He then stands up again.
Section 2:
(11) ARSHAD jump kicks AGENT 4 in the shoulder and forces him
to stumble.
(12) Then ARSHAD lunges for a heavy punch to AGENT 4s head.
AGENT 4 stumbles after the punch. ARSHAD quickly beats
another punch into 4. (13) ARSHAD grabs AGENT 4s arms and
crosses them as he pulls 4 into a headbutt. (14) 4 throws a
high punch with his left fist, ARSHAD dodges it downward and
punches 4 in the stomach with his right.

(15) AGENT 4 pulls back and throws a punch with his right
arm, ARSHAD dodges it by leaning back and (16) punches 4 in
the face. 4 turns back walking away with his hand on his
face.
SECTION 3:
(17) AGENT 4 charges ARSHAD and throws a heavy punch with his
right arm. (18) ARSHAD pushes the punch outward with his left
hand and grab 4s arm in a lock, making them stand chest open
to each other. (18) ARSHAD punches 4 in the chest. (19)
ARSHAD then lands two punches in 4s face. (20) As ARSHAD is
going in for another punch 4 catches ARSHADs right arm and
holds it in a lock. (21) AGENT 4 then hits ARSHAD in the
stomach with his knee. (22) ARSHAD pushes 4 backwards until
he hits the wall behind them.
SECTION 4:
(23) ARSHAD headbutts 4 into the wall, which leaves a bloody
mark. (24) AGENT 4 kicks ARSHAD back with his right foot and
stumbles forward himself. (25) ARSHAD spin kicks AGENT 4 with
his right foot in the head, and 4 collapses to the ground
with the kick. (Vertigo effect)
ARSHAD then goes and picks up his handgun. He then turns to
LANCASTER and fixes his shirt.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
I need a few band-aids.
CUT TO:
INT. SHUMA - NIGHT
LANCASTER is walking with ARSHAD as he is texting. As he
texts, his writing and their details appear in CGI next to
him like on a phone.
Mayes, where are you? - Sent 10:47 PM
He looks around while waiting for a response.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Come on, hurry. I dont know how
many more of them there are.
LANCASTER hurries his steps behind ARSHAD.
Why should I trust you? - Received 10:48 PM
Lancaster types out his response on his phone.

Lancaster writes out his response again.

Lancaster shakes his head as he knows where this is going, he
lowers the phone into one hand.

Lancaster looks at the phone, then he stops as the camera
still keeps moving with ARSHAD further away from LANCASTER.
LANCASTER
Wait. I need to see Mayes.
ARSHAD turns back, facing away from the camera.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Where is he?
LANCASTER
I need to see him alone.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Alright. Ill wait here.
LANCASTER walks towards ARSHAD and the camera. We zoom into a
medium closeup.
LANCASTER
Can I have a gun?
ARSHAD looks at LANCASTER. Then he reaches for his handgun
and holds it out to LANCASTER. LANCASTER reaches for it, but
ARSHAD pulls back slightly.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Its my only gun.
LANCASTER nods, then takes the handgun from him.
He turns and walks away to a shadowy corner as ARSHAD takes
out a pack of cigarettes and lights up.

MAYES approaches LANCASTER in a sidewalk.
MAYES
Secret agents.
LANCASTER

LANCASTER looks at MAYES but doesnt say anything.
MAYES (CONTD)
Youre afraid theyll find out you
took the plans. I know you are.
LANCASTER looks at MAYES who is standing facing sideways from
him.

LANCASTER
Then why did you come to see me?
MAYES
I dont know this country, I dont
speak their language. The only
other American here... is you. Now
your gonna shoot me?
LANCASTER waits for a moment and says in a hoarse voice.
LANCASTER
On the ride here you told me its
good to be back in the field. You
know the game, you know the rules,
you just forgot. Mayes. Turn
around.
MAYES slowly turns around, quite fearful.
LANCASTER pulls the handgun from behind his back and holds it
half raised. They both look at it for a moment, then
LANCASTER tosses it.
LANCASTER (CONTD)
I didnt do it for money. I swear.
LANCASTER says sadly.
MAYES who is surprised by the sudden change in LANCASTERs
tone asks
MAYES
Then why?
LANCASTER
Agent 1... her name is Sarah Aziz,
She was... I did it for her.
MAYES looks at LANCASTER with a disappointed expression.
LANCASTER (CONTD)
It was foolish. They told me they
would kill her, she told me she was
scared... in danger. I didnt know
she was their leader.
MAYES
She blackmailed you?
LANCASTER
I shouldnt have cared if she was
killed.

LANCASTER (CONT'D)
We went into Cuba, Egypt,
Afghanistan, we came out without a
scratch, but now, here we are stuck
because of her. Im sorry Mayes.

LANCASTER looks at MAYES with a straight posture, but


apologetic eyes.
MAYES scowls and nods his head.
MAYES
What happens if they keep the
blueprints?
LANCASTER
They wont. They are selling it to
Arab radicals who have plans for
the Middle East and Europe.
MAYES
Then...
MAYES feels powerless.
LANCASTER
We cant just let them do what they
do. The world will grind to a halt,
it will rip apart if they leave
here with those plans.
LANCASTER looks around, then turns to MAYES again.
LANCASTER (CONTD)
We really need to get those plans
back.
MAYES
I dont remember anything, if you
really want to get those plans
back, I cant judge you. But if you
would have killed me, I wouldnt
have been killed by a friend.
LANCASTER nods.
LANCASTER
Ive lost my fair share of friends.
I could use a few now.
LANCASTER begins to walk, he turns to MAYES.

MAYES nods and follows behind him as they walk together.


MAYES
Lets get the bastards.
LANCASTER takes out a small photo from his wallet and looks
at it as they walk, its Sarah, AGENT 1. He tosses the picture
away as they continue in the dark past the camera.
CUT TO:
INT. SHUMA 3RD BUILDING UNDERGROUND LOBBY - NIGHT
ARSHAD, MAYES and LANCASTER walk into the shiny but empty
lobby floor as CHIANG stands up from a seat to greet them.
SPECIAL AGENT CHIANG
Ni hao. Welcome to China.
ARSHAD and shakes CHIANGs hand and speaks as LANCASTER and
MAYES follow behind him.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Pleasure to meet you. We dont have
much time
SPECIAL AGENT CHIANG
Im aware. We have tracked 3
suspicious individuals who are
flying from Baghdad to Saudi Arabia
then to Dalian, they arrive
tonight.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Arrival time? Hotels? Bookings?
SPECIAL AGENT CHIANG
Other than the date we got nothing.
Our informant in Baghdad was found
with a Desert necktie... as the
report put it.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD

ARSHAD nods understandingly of CHIANGs dilemma.

CHIANG looks at LANCASTER then at MAYES, then back at ARSHAD.

Its not exactly by the book, but
what the hell, lets do it. I got a

CHIANG walks off screen to make a call and leaves the 3 in
the scene.
LANCASTER
Hey, about earlier.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD

LANCASTER

ARSHAD nods and smiles.

INT. MEEING ROOM - NIGHT
TED is on the phone.

We cant trust the Iranians to keep
this technology a secret.
LANCASTER
Sir, its hardly a secret anymore.
Everybody is after it. The Tiger
agents just broke in, in the middle
of a Russian interrogation, to stop
them from finding out. Its chaos!
TED CRUZ
Where have you been for so long?
A close-up of TEDs face reveals how tired he is from the
ordeal that has dragged on since Wednesday.
LANCASTER
Its a long story. We were kidnapped
and drugged, and the Tiger agents
had us for a while.
TED CRUZ
How did they even find out you were
there?
We see a closeup of TEDs face as there is a slight silence
between the two of them. LANCASTER finally speaks.
LANCASTER
Im sorry.
TED CRUZ
Sorry for what?
LANCASTER
I let you down. I would do things
differently if I got the chance to
do them again.
TED CRUZ
What are you talking about?
Again there is a slight silence between the two of them.
LANCASTER
Ill explain later, but they still
have the plans and we need to stop
them. The Iranians say Tiger Group
wants to sell the blueprints.
TED sits forward as his curiosity peaks.

To them?
LANCASTER
Not them, to crazy radicals.
TED CRUZ
Then why are they there?
LANCASTER
To stop the deal. If Tiger sells
the plans, they have a war on their
door steps.
TED looks at MR. LYNDON who is scowling, but nods.
TED CRUZ
How many men do they have?
LANCASTER
Mayes, myself, two of them, and a
Chinese agent. He knows where the
deal is going to happen.
TED CRUZ
How many men does Tiger have?
LANCASTER sighs.
LANCASTER
Well...
TED awaits an answer.
CUT TO:
INT. EMPTY STUDIO HALL - NIGHT
In slow motion three representatives of the buyers ,BUYER 1,
BUYER 2 and BUYER 3, walk alongside each other in a line as
they approach the three agents. AGENT 1, AGENT 2, AGENT 3
and 7 are waiting for the men at the end of the room. 7 is
still wounded and smoking.
BUYER 1
We thank you for your work.
AGENT 1
Your vision is what makes us happy.
BUYER 1
After this, the world will see
itself in a new way.

AGENT 1 nods her head and smiles pleasantly.

BUYER 2 hands BUYER 1 a suitcase, which he opens to reveal
neatly stacked 100 dollar bills.
BUYER 1
The first of the five cases. You
will receive the second and third
when the blueprints arrive in
Baghdad, and the other two when the
device is operational. As we
negotiated.
In a very nonchalant, feminine voice AGENT 1 says
AGENT 1
You pay as you please, we have
monitors everywhere, we trust your
word. I must say though, 10 million
dollars looks so small stacked in a
suitcase.
BUYER 1
Indeed it does.
AGENT 1
Here are the blueprints.
AGENT 2 hands AGENT 1 a suitcase, which she opens to reveal a
file folder marked TOP SECRET PROJECT.
BUYER 3 who is wearing glasses takes the folder and flips
through its content, nodding at BUYER 1.
BUYER 1 turns to AGENT 1.
BUYER 1
It seems we can do business.

The suitcases are exchanged.


AGENT 1
Our agent in Baghdad will contact
you for the proceedings once you
land.
We look at their conversation from a distant pilar in the
hall, where a small microphone is taped to the wall pointed
in their direction.
CUT TO:
INT. STUDIO HALL STAIRCASE
LANCASTER and ARSHAD climb up a staircase holding rifles.
Behind them, MAYES, CHIANG and DAVID follow. They emerge just
outside the hallway that leads to the empty concrete studio.
As they walk down the empty hallway, ARSHAD who is walking at
the front of the group with LANCASTER and DAVID briefs them.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
These people are loyalists, they
dont negotiate. Theyve made up
their minds to their cause.
Anything could happen. Keep your
fingers on the trigger, and dont
let them out of your sight.
CUT TO:
INT. EMPTY STUDIO HALL
BUYER 1
Very good. The time of our arrival
is 3:40 at Terminal 3 of Baghdad
International Airport.
AGENT 1
Our person will wait for you in the
parking lot.
We cut back to the closeup of their conversation.
BUYER 1
Thats great. You know my dear,
once we take Baghdad, you are
welcome to come visit.
AGENT 1 smiles politely but signals negativity.

Suddenly LANCASTER, ARSHAD, MAYES, DAVID and CHIANG enter the


studio hall, each holding a high powered rifle.
LANCASTER
Did you ever get the feeling that
your guardian angel went out for a
smoke?
SPECIAL AGENT CHIANG
On behalf of the Peoples Republic
of China, I order you to surrender.
The 3 Buyers turn and raise their hands into the air. BUYER 1
turns to AGENT 1 and whispers.
BUYER 1
This wasnt part of the deal!
AGENT 1
I had no hand in this!
SPECIAL AGENT CHIANG
Slowly move forward with your hands
in the air!
They approach the agents with their hands raised high.

AGENT 1 nods to 2 and 3.


The cameras shutter speed is around 100 as the frames are
very rapid and the action seems violent and choppy.
They quickly take out their handgun and start shooting. The
buyers who are now close to the agents take out handguns of
their own. LANCASTER shoots BUYER 3 who is approaching him
with a gun. ARSHAD shoots BUYER 2 as he is aiming his gun and
quickly punches BUYER 1 as he points his gun at MAYES. He
then slams the BUYER into a pilar and steps back to shoot,
blood splatters on the pillar as the man falls to the ground.
The special agents move behind pillars and walls into
defensive positions.
At the other end of the floor AGENT 1 and 7 hide behind
pillars as 2 and 3 walk towards the special agents with their
guns raised. They shoot towards the foreign agents as they
pace.
LANCASTER
with each
LANCASTER
ground at

directed by cameraman). Bullet casings drop to the
LANCASTERs feet in slow motion.

We cut back to him as he yells as he fires. (regular speed)


He ducks behind a pillar.
ARSHAD stands away from the wall and starts firing from where
he stands (Camera fixed at end of gun). The casings are
pumped out of the gun (CG). ARSHAD steps back behind the
wall.
DAVID stands away from his pillar and in a Medium Close Up.
He starts shooting as he paces sideways away from the pillar.
He is hit by a bullet and falls down.
In the next pillar MAYES steps away to help DAVID. As MAYES
crouches down to grab DAVID he fire his gun towards the
agents. He drags DAVID back towards his own pillar but just
before he reaches it, he is hit with a bullet himself and
falls backwards in slow motion.
ARSHAD looks at LANCASTER, who looks past the pillar to MAYES
and DAVID on the ground. Furhter away from them, AGENT 2 is
on the ground, dead, but AGENT 3 firing as he is near a wall
and firing his gun towards LANCASTERs pillar. AGENT 3 runs
out of bullets and reaches inside a pocket to reload.
CHIANG who is ducking further back jumps out of his hiding
spot and shoots at AGENT 3. AGENT 3 is hit, but he stumbles
forward, CHIANG keeps firing, AGENT 3 stumbles sideways and
falls backwards.
Shooting stops, then LANCASTER yells.
LANCASTER
Surrender now!
AGENT 1 yells from across the room.
AGENT 1
You messed everything up!
LANCASTER
You lied to me!
AGENT 1
I will never surrender to you!
In the opposite end of the floor AGENT 1 nods to AGENT 7 who
is hiding behind another pillar.
LANCASTER
Its all over! Youll never get the
plans!
AGENT 1 counts to three with her nods to AGENT 7.

48.

Suddenly 7 jumps out from his hiding place and starts


shooting.
LANCASTER and ARSHAD start firing towards AGENT 7.
AGENT 1 runs away and exits the big open space through
another door that leads to the back hallway.
LANCASTER starts running towards the other door that they
came in from, he covers his head in fear as he dodges AGENT
7s bullets. In slow motion, LANCASTER runs towards the
camera as he is covering his head and yelling.
CHIANG jumps out of his hiding spot and starts shooting
towards 7. ARSHAD also walks away from the wall as he shoots
towards 7.
CHIANG AGENT 7 is hit, he leans backwards onto a pillar but
keeps shooting at the special agents, he is again his many
times and drops on his knees, slowly leans forward until he
falls to the ground face first.
AGENT 1 is running down the hallway with the 10 million
dollar suitcase as LANCASTER crashes into the door frame at
the other end of the hallway. AGENT 1 fires her gun towards
him. The bullets whizz past LANCASTER who is kneeling and
scared and miss. He raises his rifle and fires. (Camera
mounted at end of rifle again) AGENT 1 goes down as 100
dollar bill bundles fly in the air from the opened suitcase.
(vertigo effect) The booming music grinds to an ambience.
Dark red blood pools around the 100 dollar bundles.
We see AGENT 7 bleeding on the ground. Next to him AGENT 2.
And the buyers also on the ground. ARSHAD steps away from the
wall MAYES and DAVID.
MAYES slowly drags himself against the pillar and stands up.
ARSHAD nods to MAYES as MAYES limps towards LANCASTER.
ARSHAD helps DAVID up. As they walk towards the window DAVID
looks down at his bloody shirt and shakes his head. (slow
vertigo effect)
SPECIAL AGENT DAVID (SUBTITLE)
You got a band-aide?
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD (SUBTITLE)
Real men dont cry.
SPECIAL AGENT DAVID (SUBTITLE)
Get lost.
MAYES slowly sets himself down next to LANCASTER at the door
frame. They look down the hall at AGENT 1.

(slow vertigo effect. as if the world is escaping Lancaster,


pull in, zoom out)
MAYES
That was her. Number 1.
LANCASTER
That was her.
CHIANG walks past ARSHAD and DAVID towards 7 and kicks the
handgun away from him.
ARSHAD pulls DAVID up to stand. He walks him towards a window
at one end of the studio floor and sits him down against the
wall under the window. CHIANG picks up the file suitcase and
approaches the two.
SPECIAL AGENT CHIANG
So whats in this thing?
LANCASTER interrupts him as he help a bleeding MAYES walk.
LANCASTER
Bad. Something bad.
LANCASTER helps MAYES sit down and lean against the wall next
to DAVID.
DAVID pulls out cigarettes and offers them to MAYES who takes
one. (so that they have something to do) As MAYES lights up,
he looks up at LANCASTER and asks him.
MAYES
I cant remember anything. Tell me,
is this the end of it?
LANCASTER shakes his head.
LANCASTER
They are still in Baghdad.
MAYES
This never ends.
LANCASTER nods.
SPECIAL AGENT CHIANG
Hold on. I got to report back.
CHIANG walks away from the group and outside the door as he
dials a number on his phone.
As MAYES and DAVID share a smoke, LANCASTER turns to ARSHAD.
They both turn to look at the mess at the end of the room.

ARSHAD picks up the suitcase.


We see a Medium Close Up of LANCASTER and ARSHAD. DAVID and
MAYES are talking in the background.
LANCASTER
The guy in Baghdad, we need to get
him together alright?
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
We already got a ride for today.
LANCASTER slowly breaks his gaze away from the other side of
the room and looks at the camera, breaking the wall between
him and the audience.
CUT TO BLACK:
We hear airplane engine running.
CUT TO:
EXT. AIRPLANE - NIGHT
A Mahan Air airplane flies through the sky.
FLIGHT ATTENDANT
Ladies and gentlemen, in a few
moments, the flight attendants will
be passing around the cabin to
offer you hot or cold drinks, as
well as dinner. Now, sit back,
relax, and enjoy the flight. Thank
you for flying with Mahan Air.
INT. BAGHDAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PARKING LOT - NIGHT
Green digital text fades on. 13 Hours Later
A man is sitting in the driver seat of a car inside a parking
lot. The car plate has Iraqi digits.
LANCASTER
Thats the one.
LANCASTER and ARSHAD walk past the camera towards the car.
(Very slow vertigo effect focused on the car) Arshad has a
suitcase.
LANCASTER sits in the passenger seat and ARSHAD takes the
backseat.

LANCASTER (CONTD)
You parked your car in a bad
neighborhood buddy.
The car shakes slightly as a gunshot flashes inside the car
and echoes through the lot, the driver falls forward onto the
steering wheel. The car horn goes off, but LANCASTER pulls
the man back in his seat and it stops.
LANCASTER opens the door and gets out. ARSHAD gets out of the
backseat and walks behind LANCASTER with the suitcase.. They
both walk towards and past the camera. (Slow vertigo effect)
ARSHAD laughs.
SPECIAL AGENT ARSHAD
Bond, Jamal Bond.
The car is left in the scene as it slowly shifts with the
vertigo effect.
CUT TO:
INT. MEETING ROOM - NIGHT
A very tired LANCASTER sits in front of an exhausted
president of the United States in an empty meeting room.
TED CRUZ
I dont know what to say.
LANCASTER sits forward and puts his hands on the table from
under the table, revealing handcuffs around his wrist.
LANCASTER
Im just very sorry. Whatever
decision you make, I will
understand.
TED CRUZ
From what you are telling me, the
only reason Tiger Group got its
hands on the plans... is you.
LANCASTER nods. The president sits back in his chair and
thinks.
TED CRUZ (CONTD)
You are leaving me with a real
dilemma. I dont know whether to
give you a medal or throw you
behind bars.

The president stands up from his chair opposite to LANCASTER


and paces.
TED CRUZ (CONTD)
What you did out there was very
brave, I want you to know that.
LANCASTER looks down, still ashamed and unmoved by the
compliment.
TED CRUZ (CONTD)
But I cant let this slide. I just
cant.
LANCASTER looks at the president.
TED CRUZ (CONTD)
This morning I got off the phone
with the Iranian foreign minister.
Mr. Zarif says the operation was a
wake up call over there, he hopes
it was a wake up call here.
TED sits down again adjacent to LANCASTER.
TED CRUZ (CONTD)
I cant. I just cant let it go. A

administration and it has to start

SPECIAL AGENT SMITH steps inside the room. LANCASTER looks at
him and slowly gets up to leave. As he approaches the door
and AGENT SMITH is about to guide him outside, the president
stands up.
We see him from outside the doorway LANCASTER in the middle.
TED CRUZ (CONTD)
Hold on. Zarif also said something
else.
LANCASTER turns and smiles.
LANCASTER
Enlighten me
TED CRUZ
He told me a profound little poem.

EXT. BEACH - DAY
A man is holding a magazine up against his face as he reads,
sitting on an empty warm beach in a sand chair.
A pretty lady walks up to him.

LANCASTER lowers the magazine to reveal himself.
LANCASTER
Ehhh. Yeah its 6:45.
JULIA

LANCASTER
