City of the seven hills

Art in all its forms: sports, literature, science, culture, gastronomy . All you can find

What to visit?
St. Peter's Basilica - Basilica in Piazza San Pietro is located in Vatican City. Baroque
facade is dominated by statues of the Saviour, St.. John the Baptist and 11 Apostles. Form
basilica is in the form of a Latin cross with three ships, in the middle which is the main
altar of the Popes. Of great value is the sculpture of Michelangelo - "Pieta".
Church of Santa Maria Maggiore - Fundamentals church were laid in the year 352
after Christ and is dedicated to St.. Maria. In medieval bell tower is the tallest tower in
Rome, reaching 75 m.
Fontana Di Trevi - Fountain built in rococo style and decorated with marble aquatic
creatures, dominated by an impressive Oceanus. Well water comes from spring Aqua
Vergine, called it the legend that a virgin has revealed the source of thirsty soldiers. It says
you have to throw a penny in the fountain to be sure that you will return to Rome, and
made arucarea penny desires come true. Fountain is a true splendor both day and night.
Pantheon - It was originally built as a temple to the seven deities of the seven planets
governing religious state of Ancient Rome sec. VII. Dome with a diameter of 43 m was the

widest dome in the world until the construction of Florence.


Colosseum - The largest Roman amphitheater ever built, the gladiators fights were held
in the time of Nero. Colosseum The term comes from the colossal statue of 36 m which
represents the Nero in the guise of the sun god.
Vatican Museums were founded under the patronage of the two popes of the
eighteenth century - Clement XIV and Pius VI. They were among the first allowed access to
public art collections, thus promoting culture among the masses. The first building in the
museum complex, Pio-Clementine Museum was named after these two pontiffs.
Piazza di Spagna - Market is an important international meeting which starts famous
luxury shopping streets and antique shops. It is famous for the large scale, called "Trinita
dei Monti Scalinata of" at the foot of which is a fountain in the form of boat called "Fontana
della Barcaccia". In the top of the stairs there is an obelisk and a church. It was declared
the "Piazza di Spagna" in sec. XVIII, when the entire area was considered the territory
belonging to Spain.

- traditional cuisine; Antica Pesa - in the seventeenth century ate peasants who came here
to sell grain to Rome, now one of the most famous restaurants in the city; Il Convivio Italian cuisine.
