Book Share
Mrs. Feaster introduced us to a new series
by Liz Kessler about a young lady named
Emily Windsnap who discovers . . . well, I
wont give it away, but you can ask Mrs.
Feaster about it! She also reflected on the
fact that her class is much quieter when she
reads along with them during SSR time.
Mr. McKie said that hed been laughing out loud while reading Smile in class, and Mrs. Anderson shared a
book about an ocean adventure that could be a good connection to a PurrFect Pick called The Great Wide Sea.
Mrs. Williams finished If Youre Reading This and gave it a great review, and is now hooked on the Gallagher
Girls series, thanks to Mrs. Ohlrogge. Mrs. Ohlrogge has been reading
Purrfect Picks in ISS and has caught the students attention. One girl was
so anxious to read The Compound that she brought the copy straight to the
media center when Mrs. Ohlrogge was done with it and checked it out for
herself. Another student was so interested in the book that he got an
overdue book from his locker, pooled his money with his friends, paid his
fine, and got The Compound as well. There was a lot of good conversation
about books and positive stories throughout the day!

Reader-to-Reader Shelf Cards

Teachers who read any books from the media center are encouraged to write up a brief revieweven if its just
the title and drawing some stars (Mr. Tharpe )so that we can get them on the shelves near the books for
students to read as recommendations. Kudos to Mrs. Ohlrogge for writing the first Reader-to-Reader! Teachers
can earn an extra entry in the drawing for the $25 Amazon gift card for every comment card they write.

Mrs. Barrow, Mrs. Williams, and Mrs. Tensley

won the door prizes for January 30.
