Introduction

What is Self compacting concrete ?

Self-compacting concrete (SCC), which flows under its own weight and does
not require any external vibration for compaction, has revolutionized concrete
placement.

SCC, was first introduced in the late 1980s by Japanese researchers, is highly
workable concrete that can flow under its own weight through restricted sections
without segregation and bleeding..

Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is an innovative concrete that does not

require vibration for placing and compaction..

Curing :

Curing of concrete is the process of maintaining the proper moisture

conditions to promote optimum cement hydration immediately after placement.

Proper moisture conditions are critical because water is necessary for the hydration of
cementitious materials.
Curing techniques and curing duration significantly affect curing efficiency.

With long mixing time of concrete,

the pores in concrete are increased. That is

CONCLUSION

YEAR

For a selected water cement ratio

(0.32) the optimum dose are
1.2%, 1.3% and 1.1% for SP1,
SP2 & SP3 respectively.
It can be inferred from
experiment that all the three SPs
are compatible with the cement
used for the project.
As SP3 i.e. Glanium B276
Supertec gives the minimum
%age of dose for the sample, and
the rate of SP1 & SP3 does not
differ much, SP3 can prove more
economical.

Salient features of literature reviews :

With similar water/cement ratios and coarse aggregate content, SCC and NSC can be
expected to have similar mechanical properties
Longer curing time improves the geo-polymerisation process resulting in higher
compressive strength
Comparison and Optimization of Dosage of Different Super-Plasticizers for Self
Compacted Concrete Using Marsh Cone - Glanium B276 Supertec gives the
minimum %age of dose for the sample compartive to other sample.
Compressive strength of concrete increased with the increase in curing temperature
from 60C to 70C
