IIM Lucknow's Manfest-Varchasva Day 2

The Icons series, the most awaited event of IIM Lucknows Manfest-Varchasva kicked off on the second
day of one of the biggest b-school festivals in India. It was an intellectually stimulating discourse in which
organizational leaders and industry experts shared their perspective with students on the dos donts for
becoming an icon. Mr Rajesh Garg, CFO Cipla Ltd and Dr. Subir Gokarn, Director, Research at Brookings
India, graced the event with their presence. They enlightened the students with () while answering
questions on (..). .Another main speaker was Dr. Jagdish Seth, a renowned scholar and professor of
Marketing at Emory University. He has published more than 40 books, the recent one being The
Accidental Scholar. He shared his ideas on () and motivated the students to ().
Management events included Vodafone Excelsior and Snapdeal- the next CEO. The purpose of
Vodafone Excelsior was to identify the true future leaders. Students from () were awarded a cash prize of
() along with 6 interview opportunities. Snapdeal- the next CEO tested the mettle to shine in multitudes
including marketing, operations, finance, strategy and HR. Best of the top 15 individuals shortlisted by a
series of interactive rounds, were awarded INR 1,50,000.
Cipla sponsored Stategica engaged students to solve case study while Mr. Rajesh Garg, CEO Cipla, judged
them on the management strategies applied. A total cash prize of INR 1,50,000 along with 6 interview
opportunities were awarded. UP Tourism Travel Trails, a sales and marketing case study competition
engaged students in formulating strategies to win a prize worth INR 80,000.
The largest rockband competition, Stairway to Hell brought together talent from around 150 colleges
across India. The magical dance show Imperio offered a platform to the dance groups to compete for
awards worth (). Joust, the debate competition; Antarnaad, face of the art of theatre; Vivakshita,
group dance competition for Indian forms; open quiz and spent quiz, were other highlights of the
day.
The Prerna fellowship program invited young entrepreneurs with sustainable ideas for social cause, to
nominate themselves for being recognized as Preraks and seek guidance from the industry leaders.
Sports matches included () amongst () colleges. To swipe the crowd off their feet, Coke Studio ended the
day in a perfect blend of music and class, by Mr. Javed Ali, the virtuoso behind classics like Jashn-eBahara of Jodha Akbar and Kun Faya of Rockstar.
Following the legacy, this years Manfest Varchasva continued to urge and inspire the students through its
numerous interactions and workshops to move forward in the quest for inordinately great opportunities.
