According to police, the victim was "flunking English last semester but currently has a
98 percent grade point average."
Police said the boy's mother asked the teacher not to contact her son outside of school
after she discovered texts from Thompson on his phone, but the suspect persisted.
High school staff found out about the relationship in April after two other students
saw Thompson in the victim's truck away from school, took photos, and reported it.

"You send your kids to a small town school thinking they're going to get a better

Thompson bonded out of jail Monday. Police say a second charge is likely.

Sex for exchange of money, favors or anything of value amounts to prostitution. I'd tack
this charge on her too. This kid is beyond the legal age for consensual sex. I'd nail him
with solicitation to prostitution. It was consensual and wrong. Charge them both.

What is with all these female teachers who can't control their sex drive? When a
teacher commits these types of crimes, the male teachers almost always get harsher
sentences than female teachers do.

This just adds to the complex I had growing up thinking I was ugly as sin - girls didn't
hit on me, gays didn't hit on me (would have said no but it would have been flattering)
and now I have to add to the list that the hot teachers didn't hit on me - gee thanks.
