WHATISRAMMS::ROCKFALL?
RAMMS::ROCKFALListhenewRockfallmoduleintheRAMMSSoftware(RApid MassMovementSystem).IncollaborationwiththeETHZrichwehave
developedanovelcontactalgorithmtomodeltherockfallsin3D.Themodelaccountsforrealrockshapes,computingtheirrunouttrajectoryover3D
terrain,includingtheirjumpheights,velocity,rotationalvelocity,totalkineticenergyandcontactimpactforce.Allpossiblemodesofrockfallmotion
(jumping,rollingandsliding)aredeterministicallysimulated.Dynamicsofsingletrajectoriescanbeindividuallyinspected or multipletrajectoriescanbe
statisticallyanalysed.Thehighlyuserfriendly interfacedoesnotrequireadditionalGISSoftware.Resultsareeasilyexportedandvisualisedin3D.
