Technical Background
You need to meet certain requirements to be able to use the SAPUIFT software component and download the App
Activation user interface.
The SAPUIFT component is an add-on component on the SAP Fiori Frontend Server and requires the SAP_UI
software component.
The App Activation tile of the SAPUIFT component enables you to activate:
OData services
Replaces manual activation in transaction /IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE.
For general information about the SAP Fiori implementation process, refer to the application help on the SAP Help
Portal at http://help.sap.com/businesssuite

Requirements
To be able to use SAPUIFT (version 100), make sure you have installed the following components:
If you want to launch the App Activation tile from the SAP Fiori Launchpad, make sure the launchpad is set up and
configured in your system landscape and the required authorization roles are assigned to your users.
For more information about the SAP Fiori Launchpad, refer to the application help on the SAP Help Portal at
http://help.sap.com/nw-uiaddon
To direct HTTP requests from the App Activation user interface to the respective server, the SAP Web Dispatcher
must be installed and configured in your system landscape.
For more information about the SAP Web Dispatcher, refer to the application help on the SAP Help Portal at
http://help.sap.com/nw74
For more information about the configuration, refer to the application help on the SAP Help Portal at http://

Dispatcher .
To be able to use the App Activation tile, you need to set up catalogs.
For more information about catalogs, refer to the application help on the SAP Help Portal at http://
help.sap.com/nw-uiaddon
and Groups .
Use App Activation for easy configuration and activation of SAP Fiori applications within the Fiori implementation
process.
Prerequisites
Make sure the /UI2/FT_CONF_UI/BOM_UPLOAD virus scan profile is available and active.
For more information, refer to the SAPUI5 Developer Guide and the security information.
You need to assign the SAP_FIORITECH_ADMIN role to your user to be able to view the App Activation tile in
your Fiori Launchpad.
The following ICF nodes and OData services must be activated:
You can activate them manually or call transaction STC01 and use the SAP_FIORI_LAUNCHPAD_INIT_SETUP
task list for automatic activation.
For more information about these tasks, refer to http://service.sap.com/%7Esapidb/
012002523100008986102014E .
To view any logs, go to transaction SLG1 and select object /IWFND/. Enter the transactionid in the External ID
field to view the respective error message in the log. You can find the transaction ID in the error dialog of the App
Activation user interface.
Note
The logs displayed are related to SAP Gateway and not specific to the SAPUIFT component.
Context
The App Activation tile of SAP Fiori app implementation foundation allows you to configure and activate Fiori
applications for the SAP Fiori Launchpad. You can activate the ICF node that you need to run the respective Fiori
application from your launchpad along with the other required nodes and services.
In addition, you can configure the Gateway service routing and activate the required Gateway service.
For more information about SAP NetWeaver Gateway, refer to the respective Developer Guide for SAP NetWeaver
Gateway.
Procedure
1.
To download the implementation information from the library, click SAP Fiori apps reference library and save
it to a server or on your local hard disc.
The implementation information contains the Fiori apps and OData services and is available as an XML file in
the library.
2.
Note
You need to download the implementation information and upload it for use in the App Activation tile only
once. If changes are made to the content, you might have to update the information.
To upload the implementation information that you previously downloaded, click Update BOM. Select the
relevant file and click Upload BOM.
3.
Select the catalog with the required applications from the list.
4.
In the catalog, select the target system for your Gateway service routing.
5.
To activate the OData services and applications you require, select Activate in the relevant lines. If you want to
activate all applications and OData services in a catalog, select Activate All.
6.
In the Activate Service dialog, assign one or more service names. If you activate a whole application, select a
package, and, only if you want to transport your changes to another system, a transport and a Customizing
request.
Results
The Fiori applications you want to use can be launched from your SAP Fiori Launchpad.
Note
Make sure you assign the required roles to your users first.
