BOXING
The
sport
of
boxing
can
teach
a
range
of
key
skills
such
as
teamwork,
motivation,
structure,
fitness,
weight
control,
healthy
lifestyle,
routine,
problem
solving,
discussion,
research,
confidence,
discipline,
anger
management
skills
and
improving
ones
own
learning
process.
During
the
health
and
fitness
session
the
youngsters
will
be
taught
Olympic
based,
Non-
Contact
boxing
skills
with
the
assistance
of
an
experienced
(CRB
checked)
level
2
ABA
boxing
instructor/coach
with
rules
that
are
set
by
the
code
of
the
ABA
(English
Amateur
Boxing
Association.)
My
name
is
Steven
Connellan
and
I
am
head
coach
at
Hamer
Amateur
Boxing
Club.
Due
to
funding
from
the
NHS,
we
are
in
a
position
offer
six
FREE
one
hour
award
schemed
boxing
sessions
for
up
to
30
pupils,
plus
at
any
one
session.
The
sessions
will
touch
on
a
productive
physical
training
programme
which
will
involve
circuit
training,
shadow
boxing,
skipping,
combination
punches,
defence,
technique,
footwork,
question
and
answer
sessions
and
practical
demonstrations
in
pad-work
while
learning
basic
punching
routines.
The
session
will
also
encourage
youngsters
to
live
a
healthy
lifestyle
when
we
touch
on
the
subject
of
diet
and
nutrition
as
well
as
covering
the
subject
of
anger
management,
social
cohesion
and
emotional
issues
which
will
help
them
gain
the
ability
to
make
a
positive
impact
on
their
personal
and
social
lives.
