news! Cumbrae is offering its first full-day Summer
Intensive!

This year the program will be open to any student

entering Grade 4 ballet* in the fall (ages 10 & up).
Students will have the opportunity to take a variety of
dance styles to improve upon their training and
broaden their experience.

As in previous years, classes will predominantly be

taught by Miss Meghan Baker & Miss Amber Harvie
with the addition of one or two guest teachers (TBA).

*or equivalent

Summer Intensive includes:

classes in ballet, contemporary, jazz, improv,
progressions, choreography, dance
conditioning & hip hop
in-studio photo shoot
site-specific photo shoot (beach/parks etc)
transportation to and from photo shoot
locations
memory CD of the weeks photo sessions
seminars on pointe shoe fittings, injury
prevention and dance history
performance for junior program, families &
friends
pizza and a movie afternoon

Intermediate:

A FUN-FILLED WEEK OF
DANCE & DANCERELATED ACTIVITIES!

The intermediate level is for dancers entering ballet

grades 4-6 & foundation in the fall (age 10-13). Class
work will be geared to each individual dancer, and
students will learn an abundance of new techniques
and styles not yet offered for their age/level throughout
the year.
Students will have the opportunity to
choreograph routines with their peers, play
improvisational games, and learn new tricks - It will be
a week they wont want to miss!

Advanced:
The advanced level (age 12+) is geared to students in
Grades 7, 8, and higher vocational ballet levels.
Advanced dancers will be challenged both physically
and mentally as we work on perfecting technique and
artistic development. Improv and choreography classes
will include lighting and a variety of props. Interested
aspiring choreographers will have the opportunity to set
a piece on a group of their peers. Dont miss this
exciting event!
