Eponine

A rose in Misery
Eponine is a girl who lived in Paris with her sister, Alzema, and her parents, Mr and Ms
Thernardier. She live in a small run-down apartment after her family's bankruptcy of the inn
bussiness. They live next door to the apartment of Marius Pontmercy,a handsome guy who
was the one of the guys who want to start France Revolution agants France government .
She and Alzema help their father beg for money, who writes to rich people under different
names. Eponine hate to do that but she and her sister dont have any choice. While the two
sister is going to deliver the letter, they saw Marius and his friend Enjolras having a speech.
Later then the police coming to disperse the crowd. People around become panic ad start to
runaway. Unaware of what she carried, Alzema dropped their package of forged letters
begging for alms. Marius find and takes the package back to his apartment.Eponine tell her
sister to deliver the remaining letters while she search for the other letters.
The next day, Eponine visits Marius at his apartment and gives him a letter from her father
begging for money. Marius notes that the handwriting and the stationery are identical to the
letters in the package. ponine looks around Marius' room and goes to look at Marius' mirror
while singing to herself. Marius hands her back the other letters. ponine is grateful to him
for finding them. Pitying her, Marius gives her five francs, and she thanks him then she
leaves. Eponine starts to fall in love with him.
After eponine leaves, Marius observes her family in their apartment next door. They live in
utter squalor. Marius hears ponine claim that she has arranged for a philanthropist from the
local church to come to their home and give them money to help pay the rent. The
philantropist true identity is Jean Valjean as yet unrecognized by the Thnardiers and known
by a different name. He visits to inspect Eponines house condition. He is accompanied by
Cosette, with whom Marius is in love.
After the philantrophist leaves, marius beg to Eponine to give Cossetes adress and identity.
Eponine who is jealous by Cossete at first dont want to tell him about Cosette address, but
Marius promises to give everything she want to get Cosette adress. She then search for
Cosette adress and give it to Marius. Marius then acquainted with Cosette and meeting each

other everyday ini Cosettes house gate, while Eponine secretly peep them. She even get
more jealously. One day when the situation in France become more unstable and dangerous,
Jean Valjean intend to move to a saver place. In a hurry situation, Cosette secretly go to
Marius apartement to tell him about her moving adress but Marius isnt in his place that time
so Cosette entrust her letter to Eponine. Eponine that jealous to Cosette keep the letter and
dont give it to Marius.
As always, Marius go to meet Cosette in her place but When he arrives and discovers that
Cosette has departed, ponine from a hiding place tells Marius that his friends are expecting
him at the barricades, and she returns there.Marius and his friends had a battle in barricade
and while Marius is searching for a new weapon, a soldier makes it inside the barricade and
aims at Marius. Eponine shields Marius and got shoot in her chest. Marius dont recognize it
untill later. When the battle is over, Marius find out that Eponine is lying there dying.Epoine
then tells Marius that she covers him from the bullet. As she dying, she confess that she is
keeping Cosettes letter from him. She think that Marius will get angry to her but he doesnt.
She then confess to her love for him. Lying on Marius knee, Eponine died.
