The following notes originated from JDSU for the purpose of locking

onto a specific technology. Additional details have been added in


support of locking UE onto CDMA 800 or CDMA 1900 for voice calls.

Obtain the JDSU QMIForcing App , copy file onto to JDSU PC folder and decompress file.
Connect only one UE at a time to PC when using this application.
Launch QmiForcingApp.exe.
Select the UE network interface from the drop down list and click Connect.

5. After clicking the Connect button, the currently enabled technologies and bands will be
displayed in the test application.

6. To enable only CDMA 1900 or 850:


a. Deselect LTE under Technology/Band Forcing

b. Click on Uncheck All CDMA Bands button.

c. Select only Band Class 1 to enable CDMA 1900. OR for CDMA 800, select Band
Class 10. Click on Apply Forcing button.

7. The changes should take effect after a few seconds without having to restart the phone.

8. Click Disconnect and OK to exit the application. The UE will stay locked until you revert
to UEs original settings via the locking application.
9. Within JDSU drive test application, ensure the correct modem, diagnostic, and network
ports are selected for the applicable UE(s). If they are not properly selected, JDSU drive
test application may hang, requiring a restart of the PC.

There are various call control options. It is important to select proper modem port for the
applicable UE. See example below:

Obtain the DFS application , copy file onto to your folder and decompress file.
Install Demo version of this program.
Connect only one UE at a time to PC when using this application.
Launch DFS.exe.

5. Go to the Ports

6. Double click on the ports of your phone(in my case they are 82 and 67)

7. Close Port manager.

8. Select one of the COM ports in the menu (in my case it is COM82), Change DM to
Samsung and you will see the information about that phone.

9. Put SPC or MSL code for your phone instead 00000. Usually you can find that code under
the battery

10.Put password 2012112120131219 instead FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

11.Go to the tab Programming -> NAM-> PRL->Local and click button READ and you will
see current PRL(in my example 54018)

12.Copy PRL which you need to upload to the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Telecom
Logic\DFS\PRL
13.Press Button load and select mentioned PRL which you need to upload(in my example
65003)
14.Click Write and wait 10 seconds
15.Disconnect phone from the laptop.
16.Reboot the phone and verify PRL.
17.On the phone : Dial ##33284#

18.Lock code is 777468


19.Go to configuration and find QLIC : Enabled PRL ver: in my example it is 65003

20.Your phone is ready .
