I write this Tuesday morning, and the glow of our risen Lord continues to shine. The lively
chirping of birds and the stretching of colorful new blooms are just outside my window. The
richness of Sundays worship declaring Christ is Risen and the warmth of people gathered to
share the Good News is still echoing in my heart and mind. Christ is Risen indeed!
But today, tomorrow, and all the days after will each pose their own question for us. Will
we live the Jesus way, the resurrection life, day by day, or will we leave Easter behind? You see,
rightly understood, Easter is not merely a day, but a way of living. Rather than giving in to
what Eugene Peterson calls the culture of death where the daily news beats the drumbeat of
despair, Gods victory over sin and death beckons and emboldens us to respond by intentionally giving our lives to the One who has given his life for us.
Years ago I remember hearing that the light of Christ is not like a spotlight fixed at a certain
place, but a lamp we carry that illuminates our paths wherever we may be. The 5th century
missionary known as St. Patrick, after being imprisoned for six years, wrote:
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
In Jesus the Christ, God gives us The Light of the world. Walk in him. Today. And all
your todays.
Resurrection Blessings,

Brad

Feeding Children Everywhere

Church-Wide Service Project
April 19, 4:00-5:00 p.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Eastminster Presbyterian Church and Feeding
Children Everywhere are partnering together for
the Eastminster Presbyterian Hunger Project. This
one-day, church-wide service project will be held on
Sunday, April 19, in the CLC Gym. Participants will be
hand-packaging a goal of 40,000 meals that will be distributed to hungry children
in Haiti. There will be great music, good fun and the chance to make a tangible
difference in the life of a hungry child. Currently, 842 million people struggle with
hunger every single day. Through this Hunger Project, YOU are helping feed those
hungry bellies. Two one-hour shifts are available: 4:00-5:00 p.m. and 5:30-6:30
p.m. Children ages 6 and older can help package food at the event; child care will
be provided to children 5 and younger. To sign up for a one-hour shift, go to
www.eastminsterpres.org.

Supper together. If you desire a quiet place of worship, join us at 5:00 p.m. in the
Adult Reception Hall. A nursery is available in the Drop-In Nursery rooms in the
