Instituted new & comprehensive Inspection Formats for JNTUH in tune with AICTE, UGC, State Govt.
and University norms and standards and implemented the assessment and grading of colleges for AYs

PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR DRDO, New Delhi- Numerical Simulation of Planar Flow Melt Spinning
Process using CFD analysis and optimization of process parameters for obtaining good quality amorphous
ribbons of Fe-Si-B alloys. Amount Rs. 26,85,000/-. Duration: Three years
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR - Advanced System Laboratory-DRDL- CFD Simulation of Ejection System in
High Attitude Test facility for different Gas and Steam Inlet pressure and for different Gas flow rates and
optimization of Ejector Geometry. Award date: 30th March 2010; Amount Rs. 4,97,600/PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR, for All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, India funded project
under Research Promotion Scheme titled CFD Analysis of flow of molten metal in a Casting Cup for manufacture
of Amorphous Metal Alloy Strips. Fund awarded: Rupees 800,000 during 2007-08.

Research Center, Cleveland, U.S.A. PROJECT (US $ 180, 000; 1981-85): "Thermal Stability of Distillate
Hydrocarbon Fuels, under Research Grant Award No. NAG 3-183, June 1985. Doctoral thesis on above cited topic
resulting in one NASA report and several international refereed journal papers and international conference
papers.
RESEARCH EXCELLENCE

EXCELLENT PAPER AWARD: ICMO 2013 held during 16-17th September 2013, New Delhi,
India. Sowjanya Makarla, doctoral research scholar working under the supervision of Prof. T. Kishen
Kumar Reddy, JNTUH, research paper presented in the International Conference on Manufacturing and
Optimization 2013 was adjudged as Excellent paper in the conference.
