ABSTRACT
The objective of the Travel and Tourism Management System project is to develop a
system that automates the processes and activities of a travel and the purpose is to design
a system using which one can perform all operations related to traveling.

INTRODUCTION
Tourism is travel for recreation, leisure, religious, family or business purposes, usually
for a limited duration. Tourism is commonly associated with international travel, but may
also refer to travel to another place within the same country. The World Tourism
Organization defines tourists as people "traveling to and staying in places outside their
usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other
purposes"
Tourism has become a popular global leisure activity. Tourism can be domestic or
international, and international tourism has both incoming and outgoing implications on a
country's balance of payments. Today, tourism is a major source of income for many

countries, and affects the economy of both the source and host countries, in some cases
being of vital importance.

PRODUCT DEFINITION
The objective of the Travel and Tourism Management System project is to develop a
system that automates the processes and activities of a travel and the purpose is to design
a system using which one can perform all operations related to traveling.
EXISTING SYSTEM:

In the present system a customer has to approach various agencies to find details of
places and to book tickets. This often requires a lot of time and effort. A customer may
not get the desired information from these offices and often the customer may be
misguided. It is tedious for a customer to plan a particular journey and have it executed
properly.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:

The proposed system is a web based application and maintains a centralized repository of
all related information. The system allows one to easily access the relevant information
and make necessary travel arrangements. Users can decide about places they want to visit
and make bookings online for travel and accommodation.

MODULES:

The system is proposed to have the following modules:

Administrator module, travels module, routes module, reservations module and

Testimonials module.

ADMINISTRATOR MODULE:

This module provides administrator related functionality. Administrator manages all


information and has access rights to add, delete, edit and view the data related to places,
travels, routes, bookings, etc.

TRAVELS MODULE:

This module provides the details of various travel agencies. A user can select the
appropriate agency depending on convenience and accessibility.

ROUTES MODULE:

This module provides information related to various routes connecting sources and
destinations. For each route, information such as source, destination, fare, reservation
details, pick up points etc are provides. Only administrator can add, delete, edit and
manage the data. Users can only view the information.

RESERVATIONS MODULE:

This module provides functionalities that allow a user to book tickets or cancel
previously booked tickets. The module maintains the details of all reservations made so
far and allows administrator to either confirm or reject the bookings.

TESTIMONIALS MODULE:

Users of this application can post their opinions, complaints and suggestions regarding
this portal and services to the administrator. Accordingly, the administrator can take
various steps to act on the complaints and suggestions.

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION
Main Function of Blog management is:
Category Management:- Categories allowed for a broad grouping of post topics, but
when you wanted to describe a post in more specific terms, more categories were
required. Tags are similar to categories, but they are generally used to describe your post
in more detail. User can manage category edit, update, delete.

Post Management:- You can spice up your blogs front page by making the different
types of content you share visually distinct from one another. User can post category
wise also edit, update, delete. Publisher can also post and edit, update, delete their post.
Viewers can export particular post in the form of PDF format.
Comment Posting:- Comments allow your website's visitors to have a discussion with
you and each other. When you activate comments on a Page or post, System inserts
several text boxes after your content where users can submit their comments. Once you
approve a comment, it appears underneath your content.

FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS
Preliminary investigation examine project feasibility, the likelihood the system will be
useful to the organization. The main objective of the feasibility study is to test the
Technical, Operational and Economical feasibility for adding new modules and
debugging old running system. All system is feasible if they are unlimited resources and
infinite time. There are aspects in the feasibility study portion of the preliminary
investigation:

Economical Feasibility

The system contributes to the overall objective of the organization by allowing the new
users and services provided by the Organization in an easy and effective way. Also it
allows the company to have a strong bond with their customer along with their valuable
feedback.
The system will be implemented in PHP. Also, the system will be developed within the
given cost and schedule constraints.
The system can be integrated with any other system already in place but currently the
system works independently with its own specifications and interfaces.

Any work may not be always perfect. There may be some errors or some defects in the
work.We have taken enough care to make the project user friendly and more attractive
and interactive.
The following functionalities will make this system more flexible and user friendly.
