WALT DISNEY
There is no one who has not heard of Walt Disney; he is without doubt one of the most famous

for a short time.

"El Norte" is an excellent and disturbing film about two immigrants to the United States. At the
beginning of the film we meet a family inGuatemala - mother, father, son, and daughter. When the father
is killed and the mother is taken to prison, the son and daughter decide to go to "El Norte" - the United
States - by way of Mexico. At first they have trouble finding someone to take them across the Mexican
border, but finally they find a way across and end up in Los Angeles.
However, life in the U.S is not as easy as they thought it would be. First, they have to find housing. Then
they need to learn English and get jobs. Eventually they succeed in accomplishing these three goals, and
life looks pretty good for them. Unfortunately, at the end of the film, tragedy strikes, and we are left
wondering if "El Norte" really is the land of opportunity after all.
