Minutes

Meeting called to order at 6:40 pm.

1. Welcome
a. Attendance

2. Business

a. New positions
The committee accepted the appointment of Lorne Applebaum as Treasurer and Richard
Cendejas as Coffee House Manager.

b. Formal
Liza Steele talked about dance lessons and the music at the formal, as well as the location of
the bar.
c. Laundry view/card readers
Noah Jafferis was looking further into real-time laundry view. The annual fee is $1000 (for
both OGC and NGC laundry rooms), but some older machines would not work; we simply
need to replace those machines with new ones. As for card readers, an individual reader on
each machine costs $125. We will also need to spend around $3250-$6000 for a big card
machine (to add money to cards). There is a $1500 one-time installation fee.

d. Theft:
Daniel Raburn reported that a number of incidents have occured in the coffee house. He is pursuing
the issue of prox card access for the old GC, or at least for the coffee house.

Funds for outdoor grills and picnic area have been cut. New purchases won’t be made.
Funds for maintenance and and lights have been approved.
New sinks in the OGC kitchen will be installed by next month.

• Assistant Chair—Sethi

Currently working with the kitchen to design a dining survey.

• Athletic Chair – Nellore

Several students had problems joining teams; they found the free agent option confusing.

• Special Events Chair—Steele

Formal logistics.

Ran Social Hour ( the one during spring break was cancelled)

Salary issue is resolved.

• Assistant Chair—Sethi
Attended housing planning meeting.
Went through previous year dining hall survey and planned a fresh survey.
• Athletic Chair – Nellore
Has been helping people get on teams for IM sports.

• Bar Czars – Keets & Skizim

-we have hired 4 new bartenders and 3 new door men.
-our annual health inspection was last week, which we passed.
-We have recieved our food handlers license.
-the floor behind the bar was painted last night. It looks very nice and
makes the bar look cleaner overall.
-April 2nd will be the house party

Check the NGC laundry room as usual
and refunded residents who had quarters eaten by our change machine.

• Special Events– Bienia & Steele

Liza and I have been working on the Formal. Our preparations are mostly
complete.
