Physician Assisted Dying Implications at the Point


of Care
On February 7th, 2015 the Supreme Court of Canada ruled
unanimously that competent adults with grievous and
irremediable medical conditions have the right to ask a doctor to
help them die. The ban on doctor-assisted suicide will be struck
down in 12 months.

This decision by the Supreme Court of Canada is a historic ruling
that has implications for patients and families, system leaders and
decision makers and clinicians at the point of care.

Emerging Health Leaders Nova Scotia in partnership with
Dalhousie Medical Students Society (DMSS) would like to invite
you to attend a panel discussion on April 30th, 2015 to discuss the
implications of this decision from a patient/caregiver, systems and
clinical perspective.
