Task based learning
Task based learning is a teaching method which aim to put Ss in a situation where they need to
communicate to reach a goal. The teachers role here is to choose a task, based on an analysis of students needs,
that are appropriate to the level of the Ss and to create pre-task and task follow-up phases that are in line with
the abilities and needs of the Ss. The teacher also monitors the students performance and intervenes as
necessary. The role of the Ss here is to communicate with each other to complete a task. This method is another
example of the strong version of the communicative approach, where language acquired through use.
Learner autonomy
Learner autonomy is the learners ability to do things in the class without relying on the teacher in
everything and to continue studying and learning new things out of the class because as we know not everything
can be taught in the class.

Write a short composition entitled: How I have developed as a teacher.
techniques and linguistic issues and we also share successful teaching methods and ideas..
I have worked for 5 years in IHB and in 2010 I did a six months teaching training course online called IHC and
that course included assignments about teaching methods / dealing with Ss in the class according to their number ,
age, nationality and background / there were also assignments about how to teach skills ( reading, writing, listening
and speaking ) and system ( grammar, vocabulary and function ) and the tests was through 8 observation classes, 4
of them system and 4 skill. In these observation classes you can choose any level you prefer, on condition
that if your lower level was elementary your higher must be at least intermediate and so on; to ensure that
the trainee covers both high and low levels of teaching ESL. After I finished the course I started doing
everything by the book especially the lesson plans because I dont want to forget anything I had learnt.
At that time, there was a friend of mine who was doing a master in teaching in England and he helped me
a great deal in improving myself . I used to ask him about the things they were studying there and the
books they were reading and I tried to do the same. For me teaching is a passion more than a job;I love
teaching. I love when I enter the class and see all the Ss looking at me waiting for their teacher to start the
class with a story or an interesting activity that makes them forget the world outside. I like looking at the
student as a mystery that I challenge myself to solve. People and the world are changing and teaching
methods are changing with them and if I dont keep up to date I will come to a point where I will be a
boring teacher. And this is exactly what I will never allow to happen.
