James Hugh Calum Laurie, Known As Hugh Laurie Is An Actor, Comedian
writer, musician and director. The mulit-talented Hugh Laurie was born on June
11, 1959, in Oxford, England. He skyrocketed to fame playing the brilliant but
rude and arrogant Dr. Gregory House in the TV drama House.
Laurie's father, William "Ran" Laurie, was a medical doctor and Olympic Gold
Medalist in rowing. His mother, Patricia Laurie, was a writer. The youngest of
the family Laurie has two older sisters and an older brother. Their names are
Susan, Janet and Alexander
Hugh Laurie is currently married to Jo Green. The couple has three children,
and the family resides in Los Angeles, California. Longtime best friend Stephen
Fry served as best man at Laurie's marriage to Jo Green (1989).
He likes to play the piano, guitar, saxophone, drums and harmonica. Also, his
passion for music led him to join the Band from TV organization, which seeks to
raise funds to help poor people
In 2004, Laurie scored the role that would make him famous in the U.S.A. for
his portrayal of Dr. Gregory House in the television medical drama, Dr. House,
his performance earned him Golden Globe awards in 2006 and 2007
His character is based on a doctor egomaniac, strong and distinctive
personality. Is an expert in infectious diseases along with a specialty in
nephrology, and directs the department to make diagnosis. Gregory House is
addicted to Vicodin because of chronic pain in his right leg muscle necrosis
derivative (caused by an aneurysm) and has a misanthropic character, but has
a great sense of sarcasm and irony.
