APPLICATION TO YOUNG CHANGEMAKERS (YCM)


GRANT
PROPOSAL TEMPLATE
The Young ChangeMakers (YCM) grant, administered by the National Youth Council (NYC),
aims to provide seed funding for youths to implement projects for the community.
Application is open throughout the year.
Application is open throughout the year. Submission must be done at least 6 weeks
before project commencement date. Applicants must be able to meet ALL of the
following criteria:

Project should be completed within 6 months from date
of award of the grant.
Projects carried out by overseas Singaporean youths, for
the benefit of the overseas community, must meet the
objectives of creating awareness about Singapore and its
culture. (Note: The project organizing team should
include other overseas Singaporeans.)

FUNDING

Successful applicants can receive an in-principle grant quantum of up to


$3,000 or 80% of total allowable expenditure, whichever is lower.
The grant will only be disbursed on a reimbursement basis approximately 8
weeks from the receipt of a satisfactory Project Closure Report and relevant
supporting documents.
Total government funding (inclusive of YCM grant) cannot exceed 80% of
project cost.
The YCM grant funds only allowable direct project expenses of the approved
project. YCM grant cannot be used to cover start-up cost, operational cost of
an organization, capacity-building and other organizational strengthening
initiatives.
YCM grant does not fund gifts including tokens of appreciation, cash prizes,
vouchers and awards such as trophies, medals, etc and any fixed assets.

Project must not contain any inflammatory and/or discriminatory elements


that may disrupt racial and religious harmony.
Grant decisions will be made by a panel of youth volunteers. Each applicant
may be required to make a presentation of the project to the panel.
For each application, a mentor will be assigned to the project team. The
applicants will have to update their mentor periodically on the progress of
the project.
