Ilonggos Run Against Illegal Drugs (IRAD) Activity

III. RATIONALE/JUSTIFICATION

The problem against illegal drugs in the province of Iloilo is like a wild beast
looming around and ready to attack and devour us. Seeing this problem at hand, IPPO
took the challenge and developed initiatives to address this concern. Iloilo Police
Provincial Office, thru its Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group
(PAIDSOTG) embarked on a holistic approach and engaged the cooperation of all
stakeholders for an effective and efficient Anti-Illegal Drug campaign.
The Launching of OPLAN Walis Droga paved way for a more comprehensive and
stronger battle against illegal drugs in the province. IPPO leads the conduct of
symposium, drug awareness campaigns and other initiatives participated by students
and people in the community.
Oplan Walis Droga, juslt like any other anti-illegal drugs campaign is divided into
three phases: pre-operation, operation and post operation phase. Since there was
already compliance on the pre-operation and operation phase, there was a need to
conceptualize activities to support the post-operation phase. Such activities include
sports events, symposia and other related events.
Ilonggos Run Against Illegal Drugs was first implemented by New Lucena
Municipal Police Station in order to raise funds to support their post-operation activities.
These activities include the procurement of sports equipment to be donated to youth
organizations and schools. Seeing the success of New Lucenas RAID, IPPO adapted
the said activity and renamed it as IRAID or Ilonggos Run Against Illegal Drugs. IRAID
is being implemented in the different towns in the Province of Iloilo as part of Oplan
Walis Drogas post-operation phase.
To date, ten (10) towns have already conducted their IRAID. These include New
Lucena, Ajuy, Duenas, Passi City, Dumangas, Alimodian and Concepcion, Lambunao.
Tubungan, Lemery. For 2015, it is expected that additional towns will conduct their own
IRAID.

IV. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

Iloilo Police Provincial Office adopted and introduced RUN AGAINST

ILLEGAL DRUGS (RAID) to Municipalities in the Province of Iloilo. Operational Plan
IRAID was then developed for the effective implementation of the activity. The
Municipal Police Stations were directed to create and Implementation Plan and
Completed Staff Work for the successful implementation of the activity. Information
dissemination through display of streamers, distribution of leaflets and plugging in local
radio and TV stations were conducted to increase awareness of the purpose and
importance of IRAID.

V. OBJECTIVES
1. IRAID aims to raise funds to support the post-operation phase of Barangay Illegal Drug
Clearing Operation.
2. IRAID aims to unify the stakeholders support in the campaign against illegal drugs.
3. IRAID aims to promote healthy lifestyle through running.
VI. COMPONENT

Acquisition of materials to be used in IRAID activity.

VII. PROJECT BENEFICIARIES

The beneficiaries are the Youth Sector, other stakeholders and the Municipal Police
Stations.
VIII. SCHEME OF IMPLEMENTATION
The Fun Run activity will be implemented by the one (1) component City and forty three
(43) Municipal Police Stations and Iloilo Police Provincial Office.

X. PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY
There is a need to maintain the Ilonggos Run Against Illegal Drugs (IRAD) activity in
order to raise awareness and support of the stakeholders in Iloilo Police Provincial Office
Barangay Drug Clearing Operations in the province of Iloilo.
Each Municipal Police Station to conduct IRAID will need the following:
