This Week

Last week, Miss Dykes finished up her two full

weeks of teaching! The kids have learned so much
with her! She has done digraphs /sh/, /ch/ and
/th/ and taught them all about kinkajous! This
week she has been meeting with small groups and
construction for the kinkajou is well underway!
They have gotten so far, I cant wait for you to see
pictures on the blog!
For theme this week weve been learning about
market/stores/products. We are going to be
having a kindergarten-wide market on May 7th,
where each class is a store. Our class has been
brainstorming products to make in our classroom
store. So far, we have anaconda bracelets, jungle
juice, coffee filter butterfly magnets, rainforest
pointers and rainforest notepads (kids after my
own heart with that last one)! We really need your
help with these, be sure to check your Friday
folder for volunteer opportunities!
For shared reading weve been comparing fiction
and non-fiction books while learning about life
cycles. We spent two days on the chicken life
cycle (check out the blog for pictures of some that
we made), and Wednesday was butterfly life cycles
(I hope your child could answer Wednesdays
homework Q) and lastly Thursday was the frog life
cycle!

Next Week

We will continue our kinkajou construction, and

market preparation for theme/centers!
For shared reading, we will begin our very last
author studydrum roll please.on Eric Carle! He
is SO MUCH FUN! We will be making some
awesome crafts/writing activities with our study
on E.C.
We have our fingers and toes crossed for our trip
to the zoo on Friday, April 24th! If you can
chaperone, please let me know, we only have 2 so
far! We need you!!!

Mothers Day Tea!

On Monday, May 11th, please make plans to join us

(moms) for a special Mothers Day tea! It will be
at 7:15-8:00 in the am! You will get a formal invite
next week, but I wanted you to save the date!
