Franklin Gutierrez (1x4, R, HR, 2 RBI, BB) hit his 2nd home run of the season with a 2-run blast as part of a 4-run first inning. 2B Ketel Marte
(2x3, R, RBI, 2 BB), LF Patrick Kivlehan (2x5, 2 R, 2B), 3B Leury Bonilla (2x3, BB) and CF Julio Morban (2x5, 2B) each recorded 2 of the
Rainers 12 hits. Starter Jordan Pries (5.0,7,5,5,1,5) allowed 5 runs, all in the 4th inning, on 7 hits over 5.0 innings, but did not factor into the
decision. LH Joe Saunders (2.0,3,4,4,1,1) recorded the loss after allowing 4 runs in the 8th inning. RH Mark Lowe (2.0,2,0,0,0,5) recorded the
final 6 outs of the game, including 5 by strikeouts.

Dominic Leone (RHP), Mark Lowe (RHP), Lucas Luetge (LHP), Jesus Montero (1B/DH), Shawn OMalley (INF), Carlos Rivero (INF),
Stefen Romero (OF) and Joe Saunders (LHP). Four of the Mariners top-30 prospects and two of the top-four made the Rainiers Opening Day
roster. INF Ketel Marte and OF Patrick Kivlehan check in at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, and are joined by No. 13 John Hicks (C) and No.
26 Myckol Guaipe (RHP). No. 29 Ji-Man Choi (INF) and No. 30 Danny Hultzen (LHP) are both on the Disabled List.
COACHING STAFF: Pat Listach is in his first season as the Rainiers manager and is the 30th manager in Tacoma history. Listach served as
the manager PCL Iowa Cubs in 2002 and 2008, when he was named PCL Manager of the Year. He led those teams to a combined 110-87
(.558) record. He has also manged two seasons in the Southern League with West Tennessee, going 148-130 (.532). Listach spent the 2014
season as the third base coach for the Houston Astros. He has over 20 years of experience in professional baseball as a player, Major League
and minor league coach, and minor league manager and coordinator. Prior to last season, Listach was the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league
infield coordinator in 2013 and coached on the Major League staffs for the Chicago Cubs (2011-12) and Washington Nationals (2009-10) for
two years apiece. Originally drafted by the Mariners in 1987 out of McLennan College, Listach began his 11-year professional career with the
Brewers after they drafted him in the fifth round of the 1988 draft. Listach was named American League Rookie of the Year in 1992 after hitting
.290/.352/.349 (168x579) with 47 RBI. Pitching coach Jaime Navarro, who is in his 7th season with the Mariners organization and hitting Cory
Snyder, who is in his 5th season with the organization, are each in their second season with the Rainiers. Tom Newberg and Tyler Moos are
part of the training staff, while Will Lindholm is the teams performance coach.

and 1 stolen base. After going 2-for-19 in his frist 5 games this season, OF Gabby Guerrero has hit safely in each of his last 3 games, batting
.385 (5x13) with 2 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 home run and 3 RBI. OF Jordy Lara has hit safely in 7 of 9 games with 3 multi-hit contests,
batting .313 (10x32) with 4 runs scored, 1 triple and 4 walks. Jacksons Opening Day roster features 17 players who played for the Generals in
2014, including Matt Anderson (RHP), Steven Baron (C), Patrick Brady (IF/OF), James Gillheeney (LHP), Moises Hernandez (RHP), Kyle
Hunter (LHP), Stephen Landazuri (RHP), Jordy Lara (INF/OF), Trevor Miller (RHP), Julio Morban (OF), Dan Paolini (INF), D.J. Peterson
(INF), Tyler Pike (LHP), Dario Pizzano (OF), Jordan Shipers (LHP), Tyler Smith (INF) and Carlton Tanabe (C). Paolini and Peterson each
led the Generals last season with 13 home runs, while Paolini finished second on the team with 65 RBI after appearing in a team-high 116
games.
COACHING STAFF: James Horner is in his second season as manager of the Mariners affiliate in the Southern League, the Jackson
Generals. Horner is in his 9th season with the Mariners (2005-10, 2013-current), but third as manager since returning to the organization in
2013. Pitching coach Lance Painter and hitting coach Roy Howell round out the staff in Jackson. Painter enters his 10th season with the
Mariners, including his fifth with Jackson (2010-12, 2013-current). Howell returns to the Generals after managing the Tacoma Rainiers in 2014.
He guided the Rainiers to 74 wins in his first season leading the field staff, which was tied for the 9th-most victories collected by a manager in
his first full season at Tacoma. The rest of his staff include athletic trainer BJ Downie and performance coach Derek Mendoza.

RECAP: The Blaze scored 4 runs in the top of the 9th inning, including a solo home run by C Marcus Littlewood, as Bakersfield defeated San
Jose 10-7 on Sunday afternoon. RF Tyler ONeill (2x5, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, SB) and Littlewood (1x3, 2 R, HR, RBI, 2 BB) each recorded their first
home runs of the season with solo blast in the 4th and 9th innings respectively. ONeill recorded the teams only multi-hit game, while
Littlewood, CF Ian Miller (1x4, 2 R, BB), 2B Tim Lopes (1x4, 2 R, 2B, BB), 3B Jay Baum (1x3, RBI, BB) and 1B Kyle Petty (1x4, 3B, 2 RBI,
SB) each recorded 1 of the Blazes 7 hits. Starter Edwin Diaz (2.2,3,4,4,3,2) allowed 4 runs on 3 hits over a season-low 2.2 innings, but did
not factor into the decision. Relievers Paul Fry (2.1,4,2,2,1,3), Rafael Pineda (3.0,1,0,0,2,3) and Brett Ash (1.0,2,1,1,0,0) combined to allo 3
runs over the final 6.1 innings. Pineda earned his first win of the season after tossing 3.0 scoreless innings in relief.
OF NOTE: RHP Edwin Diaz allowed a run in the first inning on April 19 at San Jose, snapping his scoreless inning streak at 11.0 innings to
open the season. It also snapped a string of 16.0 scoreless innings dating back to his final start of the 2014 season on Aug. 29 at Quad Cities
(w/Clinton). Overall this season, Diaz is 1-0 with a 2.63 ERA (4 ER, 13.2 IP) in 3 starts with Bakersfield. C Tyler Marlette has hit safely in 7 of
8 games he has appeared this season, batting .464 (13x28) with 8 runs scored, 1 double, 2 home runs, 7 RBI, 2 walks, 2 stolen base and 1
HBP. Among California League leaders, Marlette ranks 1st in the league in average (.464) and on-base percentage (.516), T2nd in slugging
percentage (.714). OF Tyler ONeill has hit safely in each of the last 4 games he has appeared, batting .333 (6x18) with 3 runs scored, 2
doubles, 1 walk and 3 stolen bases.
COACHING STAFF: Manager Eddie Menchaca, who managed the High Desert Mavericks last season returns for his second season leading
the Mariners California League affiliate. He enters his seventh season in the Mariners organization, including five as manager. Menchaca has
led his squad to the postseason in four of the last five seasons. Pitching coach Andrew Lorraine and hitting coach Max Venable each return
to Menchacas staff for the second consecutive season. Lorraine is in his sixth season as a pitching coach in the Mariners minor league
system, while Venable returns for his second season as hitting coach. Geoff Swanson, who served as the Clinton LumberKings trainer in
2014 is in his first season with Bakersfield and first-year performance coach Aaron Reis round out the Blaze staff.
