Eligibility criteria:
For item A, B & C: Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted
as equivalent thereto with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum
of 50% marks in mathematics and 50% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together
For item D: Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent
thereto with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum of 60% marks
in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together, with at least 55% in mathematics separately.
For item E :
1. Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent
thereto with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average
of not less than 60% marks & minimum 50% for mathematics alone. Should have obtained 50% marks
in English at 10th or 12th standards. This is applicable to the SC/ST candidates also.
2. Medical fitness Certificate obtained from Medical Examiners approved by DG Shipping is required
3. Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply.
4. The Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.
5. Eligibility for admission is based on the directions from the DG Shipping (Govt. of India)
For item F :
Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto
with a First Class (60%) securing a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics as well as for mathematics,
physics and chemistry put together.
For item G:

Pass in Plus 2 examination with 60% marks in Science / Commerce group or 55% marks in Arts /
Humanities.
2. Should not have completed 20 years of age on July 1st of the year of admission. 22 years in the case
of SC / ST and OBC candidates.
For item H
1. Pass in Plus 2 examination with 60% marks in Science group or 55% marks in Commerce / Arts /
Humanities

(Students who have taken their 10+2 or degree through distance or correspondence method are eligible to apply

1.2 POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
Eligibility criteria:
3 year LLB
Pass in Bachelors degree with not less than 40% marks in the aggregate in any discipline of a University recognized by
CUSAT (35% for SC/ST candidates)
Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination may also apply, in anticipation of results. However, the mark
lists obtained in the qualifying examination shall be produced at the time of admission. Those who fail to produce mark lists
shall not be considered for admission.
LL.M.
Bachelors degree in Law with at least 45% marks.
M.A. Hindi Language and Literature
B.A./B.Sc. degree with Hindi as a subject of study with at least 45% marks in Hindi.
M.B.A. (Full-time )
Bachelors degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
M.B.A. (Part-time )

50% of the seats are reserved for candidates having 3 years of supervisory / executive experience
after taking the degree

Bachelors degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
M.B.A.(International Business)
Bachelors degree in any discipline recognized by the University with 50% marks in aggregate.
M.A. Applied Economics
Bachelors degree in Economics with 55% marks in Part III (Economics and Subsidiaries) or 60% marks
with B.Com., BBA, BBM with Economics as one of the subject or B.Sc. Mathematics or Statistics with 65% marks.
M.C.A. (Regular and Cost Sharing)
Any graduate with mathematics as one of the main or subsidiary subjects or graduate in Electronics/
Computer Science/Computer Applications/Engg./Technology with aggregate 55% marks in all subjects
other than Languages and Humanities.
M.Sc. Chemistry
B.Sc. degree with Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry/Environmental Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/
Petrochemicals (main), with Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects with at least 55% marks in the
main subject.
M. Sc. Biotechnology
Bachelors degree in any branch of Life Sciences including Agricultural and Medical Science or Chemical Science
or Chemical Engg. with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

NOTIFICATION
Recognized Institutions of the University are to obtain application forms from the University Departments/
Schools dealing with the discipline of their choice.
SC/ST candidates are eligible for admission, if they have pass marks in qualifying examination
unless otherwise specified separately

http://cusat.nic.in before submitting online application.

In the second stage the candidate should login using this user-id and password. Immediately they will be
asked to change their password. Now submit all other details required in the online registration form and
upload your recent passport size (color) photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with the file size between 4 KB
and 100 KB and signature (3.5 cm x 1.5 cm with file size between 1 KB and 30 KB)

Please note that once the application is confirmed by pressing the CONFIRM button, no
further changes are possible.
In the chalan payment mode, choose your bank first and then take printout of the chalan form
along with the instructions page and make payment in the bank after two working days from
the date of registration. Make sure that the journal number is correctly entered by the bank
in the space provided in the chalan form before leaving the bank. Payment can also be made
from any Internet Banking enabled SBI/SBT a/c: Login to the internet banking account.
Choose Payments/Transfers. Choose Power Jyothi Fee Collection (PUL). Enter the fee type
as printed in your chalan and then click Submit button. In the Validation Date box enter
your date of birth as printed in the chalan. In the Fee Reference No box, enter your
registration no as printed in the chalan. Then click confirm button to complete the
transaction. Note down your transaction number for future reference.
After completing the registration process you should logout.

Kindly note that once you give your present educational qualifications you will be shown all the programmes
for which you are eligible to apply. You can add as many programmes as you like to the box on the right
side of the form. You can also remove the selected courses, if you wish.

The registration number should be quoted in all communications with the University.

You should check your application status after two working days from the date of payment
of fee. If your application is approved, you should take printout of the application confirmation
page from the web site.
If the application submitted by the candidate is not approved within the time, the candidate
should take necessary action as indicated in the status page.
Candidates for MBA/M.Tech programmes who are awaiting results of CMAT/ MAT/CAT (IIM)
or GATE can apply online during the extended period also ie from 01-03-2015 to 30-04-2015.

7 ALLOCATION OF SEATS
Of the total seats for B.Tech (Self-Financing) programmes 50% are State Merit seats, 40% are All India Merit seats and 10% are
NRI payment seats.. The State Merit seats are earmarked for Keralites only. Communal reservation is applicable only for
candidates who are the natives of Kerala as per Kerala Govt. Rules.. For B.Tech. in Naval Architecture & Ship Building,
Instrumentation and Polymer Science & Engineering 10% of the seats are reserved for students on all India basis (All India
Quota) and the remaining seats for Keralites. For all regular Post-Graduate Programmes including subsidized Post-Graduate
programmes like M.C.A., M.B.A. (International Business), and 5 year Integrated M.Sc. in Photonics programme 10% of the seats
are set apart for students on all India basis (All India Quota) and the remaining for Keralites.
A candidate will be considered as a Keralite for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission, if
a) He/she or his/her father/mother was born in Kerala OR
b) He/she has been a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years within a period of 12 years OR
c) He/she has undergone his/her school studies from standards VIII to XII in educational institution(s) in
Kerala OR
d) Children of All India Service (AIS) Officers (Non Keralites) allotted to Kerala circle are deemed to be
Keralites [GO (Rt) No.822/H.Edn dated 29.05.2008]. But they will not be eligible for Communal/Special
Reservations.
Rules for communal reservation framed by the Government of Kerala and implemented in the University from time to time will
be applicable to the various academic programmes. Besides communal reservation, specified number of seats are set apart
under Special Reservation. For details see prospectus in website www.cusat.nic.in or cusat.ac.in.

M.Tech. Marine Bio-Technology: Selection of candidates is done by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)
on behalf of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India through a National Test along with all such
examinations conducted by the University (JNU) . GATE Score is not considered for admission. For details
visit www.jnu.ac.in and www.ncaah.org .

Candidates applying simultaneously for both B.Tech Programmes and Lateral Entry Programmes online
should submit separate applications, remitting the required fees separately for each programme.
Entry requirements for each Programme are given under Eligibility Criteria in Prospectus. The responsibility
for ensuring satisfactory compliance to the prescribed Eligibility Criteria is vested solely with the applicant.
Claims found untenable upon subsequent scrutiny shall result in summary disqualification of the applicant
concerned and cancellation of any or all admission processes undergone.
The choice of the Test Subject/Test Centre is the responsibility of the applicant alone and the selection once
exercised in the online registration shall be final and irrevocable. Allotment of centre is made by Computer
and there is no human intervention. Under no circumstances the choice of centre filled in the
application form shall be changed by the University

Online Option registration for admission to various academic programmes of the University
will commence immediately after the publication of CAT results on the same website
