Bios
Eder Carvalhaes da Costa e Silva holds a Masters in Professional Administration (MBA) from EAESP FGV - Escola de
Administração de Empresas de São Paulo da Fundação Getúlio Vargas, a Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science from
the UFRJ - Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, education provided to Board Members by the IBGC – Instituto
Brasileiro de Governança Corporativa and has a specialization degree in Advertising and Marketing from ESPM RJ -
Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing, Rio de Janeiro.

Mr. Silva has a solid consulting experience of over 22 years in the human resources area with a focus on actuarial and
benefits, modeling, designing and implementing pension funds and retirement programs, both insured and trustees.
His career was developed in the top global consulting firms and through high management positions in Pension
Funds, Insurance Companies, and Multinational Organizations.

Mr. Silva played significant roles in managing projects involving traditional and flexible benefits programs, due
diligence of mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs and privatization processes, start up operations of multinationals in
Brazil and Global Benefits Project from companies such as Caterpillar, Duke Energy, Energias do Brasil (EDP), Ford,
General Electric, Hewlett-Packard, HSBC Banking Corp., NovoNordisk, Pfizer, Texas Instruments, Tractebel, TRW and
Wyeth-Whitehall.

He also has competency in prospecting and managing new business and has been responsible for supporting large
national, multinational and transnational clients.

Other professional activities includes: Professor of the Actuarial Valuations Course at the MBA - Financial and
Actuarial Risks Management from FIPECAFI USP (1998/2000); Board Member (elected) at the Brazilian Institute of
Actuaries - IBA (2000/ 2004); Member of the Benefits Committee from the ABRAPP – Brazilian Association of Closed
Private Pension Entities (1990/1994).

Mr. Silva is fluent in English, has international experience, lived abroad, and participated in global projects in the
Human Resources area.
