Are you a doctor wondering how to interact with the media, or a nurse wondering how to
treat patient information in difficult circumstances? Are you an ambulance driver unsure
of what your responsibilities are? Are you a hospital administrator wondering what to do
with overwhelming numbers of deceased patients? If so, the Health Care in Danger
project's new e-learning module on the responsibilities of health-care personnel is for
you.
The module introduces health-care personnel to the principles underpinning ethical
considerations when working in conflict situations and other emergencies. Using an
engaging multimedia interface, the module presents various dilemmas that medical
personnel face every day. Users can explore these issues in depth by interacting virtually
with experts in the field, studying real-life issues, and receiving guidance that helps them
to make decisions in difficult situations. The module allows learners freedom to explore,
and for each chapter includes documents with more detailed information on topics of
interest to the user.
How to register:

successful advocacy campaigns. Access this full course for free from anywhere with an
internet connection and anytime no matter your time zone.
Launch Course
Course Summary:
Advocacy is the action or process by a person or group to support a particular cause or
policy. Many capacity building programs seek to develop the advocacy knowledge, skills
and experience of individuals and emerging groups. But how do we know that the
capacity building support is empowering the group to push forward their cause? We can
measure what they learned, but how do we know they actually are putting into practice
their new skills?
In this self-paced course, we present tools, resources, and lessons learned on strategies for
improving advocacy skills in your organization, as well as a tool for measuring advocacy
capacity within an organization.
This training, funded by USAIDs Bureau of Policy Planning and Learning (PPL), and
created by TechChange in collaboration with the Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) in
Lebanon, is part of a larger effort to encourage USAID and implementing partners,
specifically project managers, implementers local organizations, and academic
institutions, to think strategically about advocacy and civic activism programming and
share best practices to improve collective activism efforts around the world.
What Will I Learn?
This course will develop your advocacy skills by teaching you how to build broad
support for your advocacy campaigns among community stakeholders. Key topics are
covered in 6 modules of approximately 20 minutes each using a combination of
presentations, examples, videos, self-examinations, and other interactive elements:
