RECAP: The Rainies score a run in the 5th and 6th inning to take a 3-1 lead and held on as Tacoma defeated Albuquerque 3-2 on Friday
night. 2B Chris Taylor (2x4, R, 2B) and 1B Jesus Montero (2x4, 2 RBI) each recorded 2 hits, while SS Ketel Marte (1x3, BB, SB), DH
Carlos Quentin (1x4, R, 2B), RF Stefen Romero (1x4), 3B Patrick Kivlehan (1x4, R, SB) and C John Baker (1x3, RBI) each had 1 of the
Rainiers 9 hits. Starter Jordan Pries (6.1,2,2,2,2,7,HR) earned his first win of the season, allowing 2 run on 2 hits over 6.1 innings. RH

WELCOME TO TACOMA CARLOS: Seattle Mariners announced on April 22 that the club has signed outfielder Carlos Quentin to a minor
league contract. Quentin, 32, has played nine Major League seasons with the Diamondbacks (2006-07), White Sox (2008-2011) and Padres
(2012-14). He was most recently with Atlanta, who acquired him in a six-player trade, before he was released on April 14. During his Major
League career, he has hit .252 (702x2790) with 416 runs, 173 doubles, 5 triples, 154 home runs and 491 RBI in 834 games while playing left
field (393 G, 388 GS), right field (328 G, 310 GS) and designated hitter (64 G, 61 GS). He was a two-time American League All-Star with the
Chicago White Sox in 2008 and 2011 and finished 5th in the A.L. MVP voting in 2008. In 2014, he was limited to a career-low 50 games after
injuries led him to two stints on the disabled list, including a 39-game sting at the start of the season with a bone bruise in his left knee, and a
60-day DL stint due to left knee soreness that caused him to miss the final 58 games of the season. Quentin attended Stanford University,
where he was one of five finalists for the 2003 Golden Spikes Award. He helped the Cardinal advance to the College World Series in 2001-03,
including the finals in 2003. He earned All-America honors from Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and USA Today/Baseball Weekly. He
was originally drafted by Arizona in the 1st round (29th overall) pick in the 2003 June draft.

Friday night. Diaz (5.1,1,0,0,3,2,WP,HB) earned the win and improved to 2-0 on the season, allowing only 1 hit over 5.1 scoreless innings. RH
Brett Ash (2.2,0,0,0,1,2) struck out 2 in 2.2 shutout innings, while Mathis struck out 1 in a 1-2-3 9th inning. DH Marcus Littlewood (2x2, R, 2
BB) and 2B Tim Lopes (2x3, R, RBI, BB) each recorded 2 of the teams 10 hits. RF Tyler ONeill (1x4, R, HR, 2 RBI) recorded his 2nd home
