Two major things happen as we leave April and head into

May. First, you will receive in the mail this week a list of men of
the church that can be nominated for the Office of Deacon. Each
church member can nominate up to ten men. The nominations will
cease at the end of May and all names will be given to the Deacon
Screening Committee for consideration. During June and July those
who qualify will be contacted and asked to serve. On the first
Sunday in August a ballot of candidates will be presented of those
men who have agreed to serve if elected.
Please take the time to review the qualifications of a Deacon
as presented in Acts 6, and in I Timothy 3.
You will also find during the month of May brief
information sheets for volunteering to serve on various committees
of the church. We are asking each person to prayerfully consider
the areas where you can best be used of God. The Nominating
committee will then seek out those who are to serve on the various
committees and ministries of the congregation. These nominations
will be voted on by the body of the Church in the September
meeting.
Committees are a vital part of this church as they do the leg
work to make recommendations to the congregation on key issues of
practice and policy.
Pray where God can use you and be here this Sunday to
worship Him.
Paul

JUBAL BRASS AT FBC BAINBRIDGE

The JUBAL BRASS, an instrumental ensemble which
accompanies the Sons of Jubal, will be in concert on
Thursday, April 30 at the First Baptist Church in
Bainbridge. It is composed of Ministers of Music and
church musicians from across the state of Georgia.
The concert begins at 7:00 PM and features a variety
of sacred music ranging from baroque to gospel and
even some jazz. The JUBAL BRASS has traveled the
world with the Sons of Jubal as they have ministered
in Moldova, Russia and most recently in China and
North Korea. An offering will be received to support
the ministry of the Sons of Jubal as they travel and
minister in Israel in October of 2015. Please bring
your friends and neighbors to this once in a lifetime
event for us at FBC Bainbridge.

SONS OF JUBAL REPORT

We had a surprisingly good group of folks who
traveled all the way to First Baptist Church in Tifton last Thursday night to hear the Sons of Jubal
in concert. Find one of them to hear their report!
FELLOWSHIP CLUB AT BOAT BASIN
Our traditional gathering at the Boat Basin will take place
on Monday, May 4th this year. We bring our covered
dishes and share them together at the pavilion just to the
left of the Chamber of Commerce promptly at noon that
day. A pontoon boat is available for those who might like a
leisurely trip up the Flint River to cap off a day of fun and
fellowship.

Please come and help us dress up our hallway.

Calling all artists!

Now that the Preschool Hallway has a new coat of paint, we would like to
share our vision with you. We invite artists of all ages in the church who are
members or regular attendees and who are inspired by Bible verses or stories
or God's beautiful creation to share their art on the hallway. Our intent is to
make the preschool hallway a gallery or museum, ever changing with the
seasons, and proclaiming God's glory. There are a few criteria for donating or
loaning work. If you are interested, please contact the church office.

AWANA Awards Night Sunday, May 3 6:30 pm Youth Building

Club accomplished this year.

Leading a Child to Christ Tuesday, June 2 6:30 pm

If you work with children at our church, are a parent, grandparent or
interested in ways to talk with a child about salvation, you won't want to miss
this time of training. There is no cost, but supplies will need to be ready for
you. Please call the office to sign up.

The month of April is coming to a close. As we

begin to enter the month of May, there will be a
number of events and dates that are important to
the student ministry. First of all, SNAC for the
month of May will be Sunday night May 3rd
following the evening service.
Game night will be Friday night May 8. This will
also be in the youth building. We will meet
together at 6:30, play some games, hang out, and
of course have some food!
The balance for Merge is due on Wednesday night
May 13. Also due this night is the balance for the
5th and 6th graders who will be attending the 5th
and 6th grade retreat.
Senior breakfast and recognition will be Sunday
morning May 17. Breakfast will be at 8:30 and
during the 11:00 service, we will recognize the
graduating senior. There will not be a 9:00
service on this day!
Finally, during the last week of May the Jr./Sr. trip
will be the 25-28 and the 5th & 6th grade retreat
will be the 29-30.
