Re: Request for Title and Summary for Proposed Initiative


Pursuant to Article II, Section 10(d) of the California Constitution, this letter respectfully requests that the
Attorney General prepare a circulating title and summary of the enclosed proposed statewide
constitutional amendment initiative: "The President of California Act" which amends the California
Constitution by striking each occurrence of the term 'Governor' and replaces it with the term 'President'.
Also enclosed are the required signed statements pursuant to California Elections Code sections 9001 and
9608, and a check in the amount of$200.

Whereas California is a Republic;


Whereas California is a nation in the context of following dictionary definitions:
"A large body of people, associated with a particular territory, that is
sufficiently conscious of its unity to seek or to possess a government
peculiarly its own."
"A community of persons not constituting a state but bound by common
descent, language, history, etc.: the French-Canadian nation."
"A community of people composed of one or more nationalities and possessing a
more or less defined territory and government."
"Community or race of people with shared culture, traditions, history, and
(usually) language, whether scattered or confined to one country."
Whereas the leader of a nation with a Republican fonn of goverillnent is known as a President;
The People of California submit the following initiative constitutional amendment replacing the
title of 'Governor' with the title of 'President' as the chief executive of the California;

The following Articles of the California Constitution are hereby amended, striking the term
'Governor' and replacing it with 'President'.
