Arthritis is the inflammation of the joint which is caused by metabolic abnormalities,
injuries, genetic factors or infections. It affects the human body joints. The most
common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arhtitis.

The chart is telling us there are millions of people are suffering from arthritis only in
USA & UK.
 CDC’s study says the no. of cases will increase dramatically in the next 25 years.
 The difference between the statistics that was collected in 04-05 and the very recent data is
23.6 million in USA.
 CDC’s study claimed that by 2030 the no. of cases will be 67.0 million
 4 years passed and the no. has already hit the roof & exceeded the expectation.
 In the population of 1000 women there will be 227 women with arthritis.
 In the population of 1000 men there will be 113 men with arthritis.
 The data means women are double men regarding developing arthritis. More

Factors that affect the probability of developing arthritis are:
i. Family History of arthritis.
ii. Aging.
iii. Joint injury.
iv. Obese people.
v. Women.

 Enlargement of the joint.
 Redness of the affected area.
 Fever.
 Night Sweating.
 Dry Eyes.

Treating arthritis depends on the type of arthritis & there are three ways to treat
it:
 Medications:
 Analgesics “Pain Reducer”.
 Counterirritants: Ease irritations.
 Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NAIDs): Reduces the pain & inflammation.
 Physical Therapy: Useful for particular types of arthritis.
 Surgical Methods:
 Synovectomy: Surgical procedure to remove the synovium.
 Joint replacement or Fusion.

There is no particular way to prevent arthritis, however, monitoring your health and
doing some sport couple of times a week can do the work.
People who has gout should stay away from:
Alchochol, Meat organs , Sardines, Anchovies & Gravy.

Finally, we can conclude that arthritis is a disorder which can affect any joint in the
human body. The cause varies depending on the type and each has its resulting
disorder. If the patient is severely affected it may harm his/her everyday life. Arthritis
is treated either by medications, physically or surgically. In order to prevent this
disease you’d have to do some sport frequently.
