Out of town? Home sick? Want grandparents in another state to see

your child sing? Eastminster worship services can now be viewed live via the
church website. During worship hours, simply go to eastminsterpres.org and click on Sermons in the lower right and the live feed should appear. Also, following those same instructions and scrolling down the page will enable you to view recent sermons.

Interested in After School Care for K-5th Graders?

Eastminster is planning to begin after-school care for children either this fall or in January,
2016, depending on interest. Bus transportation would be provided to bring the children to
Eastminster. Lucy Corley is leading this effort. Please contact her at lcorley@eastminsterpres.
org if you think you would be interested.

Get Involved with Eastminsters Childrens Ministry

Sundays sermon encouraged people without children and empty-nesters to join in Gods
work of shaping children. Three ways you can help are: volunteering with VBS (June 22-25),
keeping infants-2-year-olds during worship, and helping teach Sunday School for 3-5-yearolds. Talk with Croskeys Royall at 256-1654 or croyall@eastminsterpres.org to find the opportunity and frequency that work best.

In Temporary Need of Medical Equipment?

File this away for future reference: Eastminster has canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs,
bedside commodes, and shower chairs that are available for use. This equipment, donated by
members, can be accessed by contacting the Rev. Lynn Grandsire or Shelli Knapp at 256-1654
or sknapp@eastministerpres.org.

So as to give serving proper emphasis, Eastminster is now conducting Time & Talent each
spring with service beginning this fall. Please read the mail piece you received last week, pray
about how you would like to serve Christ beginning this coming fall, and submit your completed T&T sheet May 17.
As I write these words, I am again grateful to God for all of you that contributed to our
Vision 2020 process. Those dreams and visions continue to guide us as we move forward in
Christs ministry and mission. Each of the above listed ministry ideas have roots in Vision
2020.
Blessings,

Brad

Jesus Rocks Almost Lock In

Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus Was a Kid

Join us the week of June 22 - 25 to experience a day at

Hometown Nazareth, as we focus on Jesus as a child. Each
day is filled with stations where kids and adults are transported to Jesus hometown! Kids meet Mary and see firsthand
Gods Word at work in a persons life. Gods Word comes
alive through engaging interaction with Bible history! We
will have VBS T-shirts for the children! A closing ceremony
will take place on Thursday evening, June 25. Registration is now open and runs through
June 5. Register on the church website, www.eastminsterpres.org.
Volunteers are needed! To volunteer to help with VBS this summer, e-mail Ashley, ashleylidikay@gmail.com. Worried about child care? The drop-in will be available at no cost to
VBS volunteers.

Eastminster Offers Live Streaming of Services

Many of you have taken advantage of Eastminsters sermon link

on the website to re-watch/hear a sermon, if you were not able
to attend the service and want to catch up. Eastminster is pleased
to announce that you can now watch the sermons via the website
through live streaming. You can use this link (http://eastminsterpres.org) or go to the home page and click on sermons. The live
streaming will be at the top of the page.

On-Line Giving

Some of you have benefited from your ability to give through the on-line giving link on
the EPC website. Using the link you can sign up for drafting, give to the general fund, make a
memorial or honoraria donation, and/or make a donation the Capital Campaign. Not only is
this easy and handy, but with the summer months rapidly approaching, even while away you
can continue to fulfill your pledge in a timely manner.

Jesus Rocks - Almost Lock-In - May 8

The last Jesus Rocks of the year will be May 8, from 7:30-10:00 p.m. Pizza! Games! Bible
Study Blast! Movies! Popcorn! Midnight Basketball! Bring $3.00 for pizza and wear sneakers. Parents, we need your help for this night. If you can help, please e-mail Croskeys at
croyall@eastminsterpres.org.

Needed: Letter Ladies

Do you enjoy writing notes and letters? And mailing them the old-fashioned way? Then
the Prison Ministry needs you to join a group of Eastminster members already involved. This
correspondence project within the Evangelism and Membership ministry seeks to match
Christian letter writers with incarcerated women in US prisons who are screened first for
eligibility and interest. Requirements are penning a note every other week, and desiring to
share in writing about the love and hope of Christ with these women in jail. Questions? Email
Annie Scott (anniescott@synovus.com). Hebrews 13:3 says, Remember those in prison as if you
were together with them . . .

Presbyterian Womens Honorary Membership

Presbyterian Women honored two of their own with Honorary Membership during the
Sisters In Christ luncheon on Tuesday, April 21: Betty Snyder, who joined Eastminster in
1966, and Nancy Scott who joined Eastminster in 1965. Both ladies have been explanatory
servants. Betty has served with the Kitchen Ministry, Prayer Shawl, Prayer Matters, Care
Teams, as a Deacon, CE Committee, and Count Team, just to mention a few of her services.
Nancy has worked tirelessly with Worship Discovery for many years, Circle of Giving, an
Elder, Clerk of Session, EPW Council, and Family Promise, to mention some of hers. Both
ladies continue to serve faithfully and quietly in the background. Congratulations to each of
these special ladies!

CARE & CONCERN

EPC Prayer List
Part of what it means to be a Family of Faith
is to be in prayer for one another. Contact
the church office at 256-1654 to be included
on this Prayer List.

MAY 24 - August 9

10:00 AM - Jubilee Service

10:15 AM - Sanctuary
9:00 a.m. - Sunday School (8:45 Coffee & Fellowship Gathering)

A combined Adult Sunday School class will meet in the Adult Reception
Hall. This class begins May 24, and will be held in the adult reception hall
from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Dr. Durrett will take us on a journey through The Life
and Letters of Paul: Gospel People and Places. Some of the places well visit are
Damascus, Tarsus, Cyprus, Galatia, Athens, Corinth, Ephesus and Rome. Well
meet Stephen, Ananias, Barnabas, Mark, Priscilla & Aquila and others. Mark will
be using information from two books, In the Steps of St. Paul by Peter Walker
and The Apostle by John Pollock. At this time there is no reading schedule, but
if you would like a book, please e-mail Julie McDaniel (jmcdaniel@eastminsterpres.org) or call her (256-1654 ext. 143).

Mothers Day Offering

On Sunday, May 10, Presbyterian congregations in the five presbyteries in South

Carolina will participate in a special offering benefiting Presbyterian Communities
of South Carolina (PCSC). The special offering is placed each year into a resident
escrow fund at each of the resident campuses (Clinton, Lexington, Summerville, Florence, and Easley) and is used to help with monthly costs for those who have lived
beyond their financial resources. In 2014 alone this important offering, combined
with other gifts received, assisted Presbyterian Communities in providing over
$1.5 million in charitable care for seniors. That is well over $4,000 each and every
day to support elder members of our churches and communities who have outlived the funds set aside for this purpose. Please use your separate pledge envelope
marked Presbyterian Communities or write this offering name on the memo line
of your check. Currently two EPC members, Bick Halligan and Robin Gorman,
serve on the Board of Directors of the SC Presbyterian Retirement Communities
Foundation.

Family Promise Returns May 31- June 6

Please save the date for your opportunity to serve this ministry. Family
Promise is a ministry that serves homeless families. Eastminster has joined 13 area
churches to host these families four times a year, one week at a time. There are
many volunteer opportunities, and all are family-friendly! Please contact Elizabeth
Barber (ebarber77@gmail.com) or Lucy Corley (lcorley2@sc.rr.com) for any questions, and watch for additional information coming soon!

Books for 4s

We have a magnificent small group, and our mission/

project is reading and distributing books to the four year old
child development classes in Richland One. In order to be
admitted to these classes, the majority of the children are
considered at risk. We intend to read to the class and then
give a book to each child. Many of these children have no
books at home. With so many children in need, we hoped to
make it a project for the congregation to share.
We will have boxes placed in the church for collecting gently used books appropriate for a four-year-old and would love for each of you to look through the
books in your home and share one or two with these children. Thank you! Liz Agee
and Becky Smythe
