Re: Modifications in procedure for empowerment of Agents.

This is further to Central Office Circular-CO/CLIA/ZD/12/2008 dated

10.11.2008 and CO/CLIA/ZD/22/2009 dated 6.04.2009 in the captioned matter.

The following modifications are made in the procedure for empowerment

of Agents with immediate effect:

1. Eligibility conditions for Agents other than CLIA:

At present, all Corporate and Chairman’s Club Members with 10 years

standing, having a customer base of atleast 750 lives with total commission of
atleast 6 lakhs p.a. and equipped with office facilities of computer, printer and
internet are empowered to collect renewal premium on authorization being given
to them.

The above eligibility criteria is now revised as follows:

(1) He should be Corporate/CM/ZM Club Member;

(2) His total commission earning in the last financial year should be atleast
Rs.4 lakhs;
(3) His customer base in the last financial year should be minimum 500 lives;
(4) He should have an office with computer, printer and internet connection.

The Agent satisfying the above criteria should submit his application in
Annexure ‘B’ of the Circular CO/CLIA/ZD/12/2008 dated 10.11.2008 to
Branch office. The Branch office should forward the same to Marketing Deptt.
of Divisional Office which, on confirming eligibility norms for empowerment
as above and approved by Sr.DM(I/C), should send the details of such
agents in an excel sheet by e-mail to nbsathe@gmail.com The other
procedure will remain the same as mentioned in the Circular
CO/CLIA/ZD/12/2008 of 10.11.2008.

2. Invoice Collection by LIC Cashiers:

It is observed that sometimes LIC Cashiers by mistake, issue individual

receipts when invoice is submitted by the Empowered Agents. In order to
avoid such mistakes, the Empowered Agents may be advised to put a rubber
stamp of size 1”x2” on the back of each cheque collected by them before
submitting the invoice to LIC Branch.
