Decentralization
with manufacturer-independent interfaces
1
2
The use of decentralized systems in extensive industrial plants is the present state-ofthe-art and is continually growing. The cost benefits of decentralized installation are
based on a reduction of expenses for project planning, installation and startup and are
decisively influenced by the design of the interfaces and plug connectors. Today, these
interfaces are still designed mostly for specific manufacturers or user groups. The installation interfaces of decentralized components have not yet, or only to a limited extent,
reached the desired uniform standardization level across manufacturers.
3
4
5
However, the vision of a universal and generally available standardized interface specification cannot be implemented by individual businesses only. For this reason, it is
imperative that as many leading businesses as possible with the widest possible range
of components come together as system partners to completely implement all functions
in an automation system. The available product range must cover all components
required in production automationfrom drive units via installation components to controller systems.

Safety Instructions
ECOFAST compliant AC motors
Safety Instructions
5.1
Preliminary
information
5
1
2
The following safety notes are concerned with the use of motors. If using gearmotors,
please also refer to the safety notes for gear units in the corresponding operating
instructions.
Also consider the supplementary safety notes in the individual sections of these operating instructions.
General
information
4
5
During and after operation, motors and gearmotors have live and moving parts and their
surfaces may be hot.
7
8
9
10
Transportation
Improper use
Removal of required protective covers or the housing when this is not permitted
11
12
Inspect the shipment for any damage that may have occurred in transit as soon as you
receive the delivery. Inform the shipping company immediately. It may be necessary to
preclude startup.
13
14
Tighten installed eyebolts. They are only rated for the weight of the motor/gearmotor; do
not attach any additional loads.
15
The built-in lifting eyebolts meet DIN 580. Always observe the loads and regulations
listed in this standard. If the gearmotor is equipped with two suspension eye lugs or
lifting eyebolts, then both of the suspension eye lugs should be used for transportation.

Never install damaged products or take them into operation. Submit a complaint to
the shipping company immediately in the event of damage.
Only specialists with the appropriate accident prevention training are allowed to
perform installation, startup and service work. These specialists must also comply
with the regulations in force (e.g. EN 60204, VBG 4, DIN-VDE 0100/0113/0160)
when performing this work.
52
The unit meets all requirements for safe isolation of power and electronic connections in accordance with EN 50178. All connected circuits must also satisfy the
requirements for safe disconnection.
Before removing the MOVIMOT inverter, it must be disconnected from the power
supply system. Dangerous voltages may still be present for up to one minute after
disconnection from the power supply.
As soon as supply voltage is present at the MOVIMOT unit or field distributor, close
the terminal box or field distributor and install the MOVIMOT inverter.
The fact that the status LED and other display elements are no longer illuminated
does not indicate that the unit has been disconnected from the power supply and no
longer carries any voltage.
Mechanical blocking or internal safety functions of the unit can cause a motor standstill. Removing the cause of this problem or performing a reset can result in the motor
re-starting on its own. If, for safety reasons, this is not permitted for the driven
machine, the MOVIMOT inverter must be disconnected from the power supply
before correcting the problem.
Safety Instructions
Field distributor
MFZ26.
Before removing the terminal box cover for the power supply connection, disconnect
the unit from the power supply system. Dangerous voltages may still be present for
up to one minute after disconnection from the power supply.
Important: The switch only disconnects the MOVIMOT unit from the power supply
system. The terminals of the field distributor are still connected to the power supply
after activating the maintenance switch.
3
4
During operation, the terminal box cover for the power supply connection and the
plug of the hybrid cable must be connected to the field distributor and fastened.
The DC link capacitors and the capacitors of the EMC filter in the MOVIMOT can
maintain a charge for up to 1 minute after disconnecting the supply voltage.
Do not disconnect the plug connection at the field distributor on the supply voltage
side during this time period and until the MOVIMOT inverter was disconnected
from the supply system via maintenance switch. Touching the pin contacts of the
HAN Q4/2 power plug poses the risk of an electrical shock.
For this reason, the plug connection on the supply system side must be locked so
that an inadvertent interruption of the plug connection and unintentional contact
of the plug pins can be safely avoided.
If the field distributor is used in a system that features additional plug connections
or contact locations, all of these connection locations must be protected against
inadvertent interruption and unintentional contact and equipped with a warning
note to avoid a potential transfer via the power line.

The DC link capacitors and the capacitors of the EMC filter in the Compact
MOVIMOT can maintain a charge for up to 5 minutes after disconnecting the supply
voltage.
Do not disconnect the plug connection at the MME on the supply voltage side
during this time period, because touching the pin contacts of the HAN Q4/2 power
plug poses the risk of an electrical shock.
For this reason, the plug connection on the supply system side must be locked so
that an inadvertent interruption of the plug connection and unintentional contact
of the plug pins can be safely avoided.
If the Compact MOVIMOT is used in a system that features additional plug
connections or contact locations, all of these connection locations must be
protected against inadvertent interruption and unintentional contact and equipped
with a warning note to avoid a potential transfer via the energy line.
54
The fact that the status LED and other display elements are no longer illuminated
does not indicate that the unit has been disconnected from the power supply and no
longer carries any voltage.
Mechanical blocking or internal safety functions of the unit can cause a motor standstill. Removing the cause of this problem or performing a reset can result in the motor
re-starting on its own. If, for safety reasons, this is not permitted for the driven
machine, the Compact MOVIMOT must be disconnected from the mains before
correcting the fault.

Installing the
motor
The motor or gearmotor may only be mounted or installed in the specified mounting
position on a level and torsionally rigid support structure that is not subject to shocks.
Carefully align the motor and the driven machine to avoid placing any unacceptable
strain on the output shafts (observe permitted overhung load and axial load!).
Ensure an unobstructed cooling air supply and that air heated by other apparatus
cannot be drawn in or reused.
Balance components for subsequent mounting on the shaft with a half key (motor
shafts are balanced with a half key).
Any condensation drain holes will be sealed by plastic plugs and should only
be opened when necessary; open condensation drain holes are not permitted,
as this would invalidate higher classes of enclosure.
If using brake motors with manual brake release, screw in either the hand lever (with
self-reengaging manual brake release) or the setscrew (with lockable manual brake
release).

The brake is released electrically. The brake is applied mechanically when the voltage
is switched off.
Comply with the applicable regulations issued by the relevant employers liability
insurance association regarding phase failure protection and the associated
circuit/circuit modification.
Note: In view of the DC voltage to be switched and the high level of current load, it
is essential to use either special brake contactors or AC contactors with contacts in
utilization category AC-3 to EN 60947-4-1.
After replacing the brake disc, the maximum braking torque is reached only after
several cycles.

You should always apply relevant standards. You also need to consider the following
points:
Equipotential bonding
Low-impedance HF-capable potential compensation must be provided independent of the functional ground (PE terminal) (see also VDE 0113 or VDE 0100 Part
540), for example through
flat contact surface connection of metal (system) components
flat grounding strips (HF litz wire)
4
5
6
7
8
9
03643AXX
Do not use the cable shield of data cables for equipotential bonding.
10
These lines must be routed separately from cables subject to interference (e.g.
control cables for solenoid valves, motor feeders)

The rated voltage and frequency of the MOVIMOT inverter must correspond to the
data for the power supply system.
Line cross section: according to input current Imains for rated power (see Technical
Data).
Install line fuses at the beginning of the supply system line behind the supply bus
junction. Use D, DO, NH fuses or circuit breakers. Select the fuse size according to
the line cross section.
In accordance with EN 50178, a second PE connection (with at least the same cross
section as the supply system lead) is required parallel to the protective earth via
separate points of connection. Leakage currents > 3.5 mA may arise during operation.
Use contactor switch contacts from utilization category AC-3 according to IEC 158 to
connect MOVIMOT drives.

Installation
Field distributors MQP../Z26. and MQP../Z28.
Installation at 1000
meters above sea
level (msl)
Protective devices
MOVIMOT drives with supply voltages of 380 to 500 V can be used at altitudes above
1000 msl up to 4000 msl under the following peripheral conditions.
The rated continuous power is reduced based on the reduced cooling above 1000 m
(see MOVIMOT operating instructions).
Above 2000 msl, the air and creeping distances are only sufficient for overvoltage
class 2. If the installation calls for overvoltage class 3, you will have to install additional external overvoltage protection to limit overvoltage peaks to 2.5 kV phase-tophase and phase-to-ground.
3
4
The permitted rated supply voltage of 3 x 500 V up to 2000 msl is reduced by 6 V for
every 100 m to a maximum of 3 x 380 V at 4000 msl.
MOVIMOT drives are equipped with integrated protective overload devices, which
means that external devices are no longer required.
7
8
UL compliant
installation of field
distributors
Use only copper cables with the temperature range 60/75 C as connection lead:
The permitted tightening torques for MOVIMOT power terminals are: 1.5 Nm
(13 lb.in).
MOVIMOT are suited for operation on voltage supply systems with grounded star
(TN and TT systems) supplying a maximum supply current of AC 5000 A and having
a maximum voltage of AC 500 V. To ensure UL-compliant installation, the power data
for fuses installed in MOVIMOT units may not exceed 35 A/600 V.
10
11
Use only tested units with limited output voltage (Vmax = DC 30 V) and limited output
current (I = 8 A) as external DC 24 V voltage supply source.

Connecting supply
system leads
Installation at 1000
meters above sea
level (msl)
The rated voltage and frequency of MOVIMOT must correspond to the data for the
supply system.
Leakage currents > 3.5 mA may arise during
operation.
Use contactor switch contacts from utilization category AC-3 according to IEC 158 to
connect MOVIMOT.

MOVIMOT drives with supply voltages of 380 to 500 V can be used at altitudes above
1,000 msl up to 4,000 msl under the following conditions1) .
The rated continuous power is reduced based on the reduced cooling above 1000 m
(see the section Technical Data and Dimension Drawings).
Above 2,000 msl, the air and creeping distances are only sufficient for overvoltage
class 2. If the installation calls for overvoltage class 3, you will have to install additional external overvoltage protection to limit overvoltage peaks to 2.5 kV phase-tophase and phase-to-ground.
12
13
14
15
The permitted rated supply voltage of 3 x 500 V up to 2,000 msl is reduced by 6 V for
every 100 m to a maximum of 3 x 380 V at 4,000 msl.

Protective
equipment
MOVIMOT drives are equipped with integrated protective overload devices, which
means that external devices are no longer required.
UL compliant
installation
Use only copper cables with the following temperature ranges as connection cables:
Temperature range: 60/75 C
MOVIMOT are suited for operation on voltage supply systems with grounded star
(TN and TT systems) supplying a maximum supply current of 5000 AAC and having
a maximum voltage of AC 500 V. The performance data of the fuses must not exceed
35 A/600 V.
Use only tested units with a limited output voltage (Vmax = DC 30 V) and limited output current (I 8 A) as an external DC 24 V voltage source.

Add the fieldbus interface module under the name "MFP/MQP + MOVIMOT" or
"MQP(DPV1) + MOVIMOT" into the PROFIBUS structure and assign the PROFIBUS
address.
Select the process data configuration required for your application (see the section
"Function of MQP \PROFIBUS Interface").
Enter the I/O or periphery addresses for the configured data widths. Save the configuration.
Expand your application program by the data exchange with the MQP. Process data
transfer is not consistent. Do not use SFC14 and SFC15 to transfer process data;
they are only required for the parameter channel.
After saving the project, loading it in the DP master and starting the DP master, the
"Bus-F" LED of the MQP should go out. If this is not the case, check the connections
and terminating resistors of the PROFIBUS and the configuration, especially the
PROFIBUS address.

Parameter setting
The two fixed setpoints n11 and n12 are factory set to n11 = 100 % and n12 = 20%. The
speed setpoints are specified as a percentage value in reference to the maximum speed
set with the f1 setpoint potentiometer (MOVIMOT). They are stored in the MQP and
each is accessible via index. This setup allows for changing the percentage values for
n11 and n12 at a later point in time.

nsetp = r (n11 - n12) + n12
r = (nsetp - n12) / (n11 - n12)
r = (16384/2-3277) / (16384-3277)

Fault responses
An interruption of the connection between MQP module and MOVIMOT leads to shutdown after 1 s. An error is indicated in the process input data. Since this system fault
generally indicates cabling problems or a missing 24 V supply of the MOVIMOT
inverter, RESET via control word is not possible. As soon as the communication
link is reestablished, the fault automatically resets itself.
An interruption of the connection between fieldbus master and MQP module, following
the fieldbus timeout interval, causes the MOVIMOT process output data to be set to 0.
This fault response can be deactivated using parameter 831 in MOVITOOLS Shell.
Process data
configuration
The MQP PROFIBUS interface allows for different DP configurations in the data
exchange between DP master and MQP.
The following tables contain additional information on the DP configurations of the MQP.
The "Process data configuration" column shows the name of the respective configuration. These texts also appear as a selection list in the project planning software for the
DP master. The parameter channel is used for setting the parameters of the MQP and
can be forwarded to the corresponding MOVIMOT stations when operating with
PROFIBUS-DPV1.

Ident number
Process data transfer is not consistent. Do not use SFC14 and SFC15 to transfer
process data; they are only required for the parameter channel.
Diagnostic alarms may also be triggered by the PROFIBUS-DP system in the DP master
at any time by other stations if the external diagnostic generation is deactivated. As a
result, the corresponding organizational blocks (OB82) should always be created in the
controller.
4
5
Each DP master and DP slave must have an individual identity number assigned by the
PROFIBUS user organization (PUO) to clearly identify the connected unit. When the
PROFIBUS-DP master starts up, it compares the identity numbers of the connected DP
slaves with the identity numbers the user has entered during configuration. The user
data transfer will only be activated after the DP master has ensured that the connected
station addresses and device types (ident numbers) correspond to the project planning
data. This procedure achieves a high degree of safety with respect to project planning
errors.
The identity number is defined as an unsigned 16-bit number (Unsigned16). The PUO
has defined identity number 6001 hex (24577 dec) for the MQP modules.

Structure of the
parameter
channel
It is necessary to recreate the most important functions and services, such as READ and
WRITE for reading and writing of parameters, to set the parameters of peripheral units
via fieldbus systems that do not provide an application layer. You will have to define a
parameter process data object (PPO) for PROFIBUS-DP. This PPO is transmitted
cyclically and contains the process data channel as well as a parameter channel that
can be used to exchange acyclical parameter values.

channel
The entire parameter setting sequence is co-ordinated with byte 0 (Management). This
byte provides important service parameters such as service identifier, data length,
version and status of the service performed. The following figure shows that bits 0, 1, 2
and 3 contain the service identifier and define which service is performed. Bit 4 and bit
5 specify the data length in bytes for the write service; it should be set to 4 bytes for all

Status bit
0 = No error during service execution
1 = Error during service execution
Bit 6 is used as an acknowledgment between the controller and the MQP. It triggers the
execution of the transferred service in the MQP. Since the parameter channel is transmitted cyclically with the process data particularly with PROFIBUS-DP, the execution of
the service in the MQP must be edge-triggered via the "handshake bit." For this purpose,
the value of this bit is altered (toggled) for each new service that is to be executed. The
MQP uses the handshake bit to signal whether the service has been executed or not.
The service was executed if the handshake bit received in the controller is identical with
the transmitted handshake bit. The status bit indicates whether it was possible to carry
out the service properly or if there were errors.

Data range
As can be seen in the following table, the data is contained in byte 4 through byte 7 of
the parameter channel. This means up to 4 bytes of data can be transmitted per service.
The data is always entered with right-justification; that is, byte 7 contains the least significant data byte (Data LSB) whereas byte 4 is the most significant data byte (Data
MSB).

The status bit in the management byte is set to signal that a service has been executed
incorrectly. If the received handshake bit is identical to the transmitted handshake bit,
the MQP has executed the service. If the status bit now signals an error, the error code
is entered in the data range of the parameter telegram. Bytes 4 through 7 provide the
return code in a structured format (see the chapter Return Codes).

Return codes for
parameterization
In case of incorrect configuration, the MQP returns various return codes to the configuration master providing detailed information on the cause of the error. All of these return
codes are structured in accordance with EN 50170. The MQI distinguishes between the
following elements:
Error class
Error code
Additional code

3
4
Class (hex)
Designation
vfd state
application reference
Meaning

Definition error
resource

other
Error class is generated by the communication software of the fieldbus interface in the
event of an error in communication. The error can be more precisely identified using the
elements Error code and Additional code.
Error code
The error class element provides a more exact classification of the error type. The MQP
supports the following error classes defined in accordance with EN 50170(V2):
The error code element provides a means for more precisely identifying the cause of the
error within the error class. It is generated by the communication software of the MQP
in the event of an error in communication. Only error code 0 (Other error code) is defined
for error class 8, "Other error." In this case, detailed identification is made using the
additional code.

Reading and writing parameters with PROFIBUS-DP
Reading a parameter with PROFIBUS-DP (Read)
To execute a READ service via parameter channel, the handshake bit may be changed
only after the complete parameter channel was set up for the specific service because
of the cyclical transfer of the parameter channel. As a result, adhere to the following
sequence when reading a parameter:
1. Enter the index of the parameter to be read in byte 2 (Index high) and byte 3 (Index
low).
2. Enter the service identifier for the Read service in the management byte (byte 0).
3. Transfer the read service to the MQP by changing the handshake bit.
Since this is a read service, the sent data bytes (bytes 4...7) and the data length (in the
management byte) are ignored and do not need to be set. The MQP now processes the
read service and sends back the service confirmation by changing the handshake bit.

The figure shows the coding of a READ service in the management byte. The data
length is not relevant, you only need to enter the service identifier for the READ service.
This service is now activated in the MQP when the handshake bit changes. It would be
possible to activate the read service with the management byte coding 01hex or 41hex.

Writing a
parameter via
PROFIBUS-DP
(Write)
To execute a WRITE service via parameter channel, the handshake bit may be changed
only after the complete parameter channel was prepared according to the service
because of the cyclical transfer of the parameter channel. Observe the following sequence when writing a parameter:
1. Enter the index of the parameter to be written in byte 2 (Index high) and byte 3 (Index
low).
3. Enter the service identifier and the data length for the Write service in the management byte (byte 0).
4. Transfer the write service to the MQP by changing the handshake bit.
The MQP now processes the write service and sends the service confirmation back by
changing the handshake bit.
The figure shows the coding of a WRITE service in the management byte. The data
length is 4 bytes for all parameters in the MQP. This service is now transferred to the
MQP when the handshake bit changes. This means a write service to the MQP generally
has the management byte coding 32hex or 72hex.

Parameter setting
sequence with
PROFIBUS-DP
Using the WRITE service as an example, the following figure is used to show a parameter setting procedure between controller and MQP via PROFIBUS-DP. To simplify the
sequence, only the management byte of the parameter channel is shown in the figure.
The parameter channel is only received and returned by the MQP while the controller is
preparing the parameter channel for the write service. The service is not activated until
the moment when the handshake bit is changed (in this example, when it changes from
0 to 1). The MQP now interprets the parameter channel and processes the write service,
but continues to answer all messages with handshake bit = 0. The executed service is
acknowledged with a change of the handshake bit in the response message of the MQP.
The controller now detects that the received handshake bit is once again the same as
the one which was sent. It can now prepare another parameter setting procedure.

The acyclical read/write services can be used to exchange larger data quantities between master and slave (drive inverter) than it would be possible to transfer in the cyclical input or output data using the 8-byte parameter channel. The advantage of the acyclical data exchange via DPV1 lies in the minimum load on the cyclical bus operation
since DPV1 telegrams are only added to the bus cycle if required.

Procedure for
setting parameters via data set
47 for PROFIBUSDPV1
Parameter access takes place with the combination of the DPV1 services "Write" and
"Read". The parameter setting service is transferred to the slave with Write.req, followed
by slave-internal processing. The master now sends a Read.req to pick up the parameter setting response. The master repeats the read.req when it receives a negative response (read.res) from the slave. Once all parameters have been processed in the
MQP, it will respond with a positive response (read.res). The user data now contains the
parameter setting response of the parameter setting request that was previously sent
with Write.req (see following figure). This mechanism applies to both a C1 and a C2
master.

parameter orders
The parameter channel of the MQP is directly mapped in the structure of data set 47.
The Request ID 0x40 (SEW MOVILINK service) is used to exchange MOVILINK
parameter setting requests. Parameter access with MOVILINK services usually takes
place according to the structure described below. The typical message sequence for
data set 47 is used.

The actual service is defined by the data set element Attribute in the MOVILINK
parameter channel. The high nibble of this element corresponds to the service nibble in
the management byte of the DPV0 parameter channel.
The following tables give an example of the structure of the Write.req and Read.res user
data for reading an individual parameter via the MOVILINK parameter channel.

MME automatically reads the PROFIBUS-DP address only when the DC24V-NS is
switched on or with the "Restart" command and stores it permanently. The ID plug is not
needed again until you want to change the PROFIBUS DP address. If the ID plug is
installed, the PROFIBUS-DP address cannot be overwritten by data sets.
Invalid address
127
Important: If the identification plug is plugged with the invalid address 127 after switching
on the DC24V-NS, then MME resets the factory setting once. Additional information
about the basic factory setting can be found in the section "Basic Factory Settings".
If the ID plug with the invalid address 127 is attached before switching on the DC24VNS, MME reports "Group fault" and "Incorrect parameter value".

Control function
MME is used to control the speed of motors. MME enables applications that were previously implemented using multi-speed motors and tapped wound motors with at least
two speeds.
Determining the
number of poles of
the motor
You can connect 2-pole, 4-pole and 6-pole AC asynchronous motors. MME automatically determines the correct number of poles of the motor using the parameters "Rated
frequency" and "Rated speed".
Speeds
MME features
16 speeds that are set in the process image of the outputs. The speeds are switched
by the bit "Creep speed" in the PO or by the input action "Creep speed" (creep
speed = 0 corresponds to f1 (n11) active, creep speed = 1 corresponds to f2 (n12)
active). These two signals are combined with "OR".
by the "reduction factor" (3 bits in the PO or in data record 68). The reduction factor indicates the factor that the setpoint is lower than the configured setpoint f1,
f2 (n11, n12).
Ensure during motor selection that the motor is suited for operation with the frequency inverter!

Control via the corresponding data channel is dependent on the operating mode.
Operating modes
The following operating modes are available:
134

Set the "Manual Local" operating mode for a local control station at digital inputs
IN.1/2
For example, with a PC via local unit interface. Program the input n-actions "Motor
CW" and "Motor CCW". Disconnect the PC to activate the control via digital inputs.
With test plug (from test plug set) at the local unit interface. When the test plug is
recognized, the MME switches to the "Manual Local" operating mode. The digital inputs IN.1 and IN.2 are assigned with the input actions "Motor CW" (IN.1) and "Motor
CCW" (IN.2) regardless of their parameter setting.

With a digital input to which you can connect a switch for switching to the "Manual

Connection monitoring
Connection monitoring is active in operating modes "Manual Bus" and "Manual Local".
At least one writing data record must be sent within 5 seconds. Otherwise, the MME
switches off with the message "Connection aborted in Manual operating mode".
If you do not intend to send any commands or control commands, you can send an
"empty" data set instead. For this purpose, use the empty data set 93 "command".
Only the coordination is filled out accordingly and the commands are assigned "0".

Basic parameters
Description of unit
parameter "Basic
parameter"
Basic parameters are "central" parameters shared by several unit functions. The
number of unit functions and the performance level depend on the unit design and
cannot be programmed. You can set the following parameters:
The rated current specified on the nameplate of the motor (current limits, asymmetry,
thermal motor model)
In the MME, the rated operating current is factory preset to the maximum value. This
setting allows testing of the motor without fieldbus.
For safety reasons, the rated operating current is preset to the minimum value in the
GSD and the Switch ES software. That is the reason why you have to set this value
during project planning. Otherwise, MME would trip due to overload with the first
start.
Load type
Here you always specify that MME must protect a 3-phase load.
The asymmetry detection is activated with 3-phase load. The three phase currents
are compared to each other.

Group diagnostics
This parameter is used to determine whether the diagnostics via PROFIBUS-DP (error
type) should be released or blocked.

Thermal motor
model
The winding temperature of the motor is calculated from the measured motor currents
and the unit parameter "Rated operating current". This information is used to determine
whether the motor is overloaded or operating in the normal operating range.
Corrective
measures with the
control function
Changing the frequency and subsequently the motor speed also changes the speed of
the fan wheel of the motor. This change results in an increase or decrease of the fan
wheel cooling capacity and also of the rated power of the motor. This effect is taken into
account in the thermal motor model.

Switch-off class
The switch-off class (CLASS, trip class) indicates the maximum trip time in which a
protection device must trip with 7.2 times the current setting from the cold state (motor
protection to IEC60947).
2
3
Note: The switch-off class CLASS 30 must be set for the MME.
4
5
Recovery time
The recovery time is the specified time for the cooling-off behavior after which a reset
can be carried out following an overload trip. Voltage losses during this time period
extend the time base accordingly if the basic parameter "Non-volatility" is active. The
recovery time after an overload trip is at least 1 minute. The recovery time can be
programmed and extended.

Temperature sensors are located in the stator winding of the motor. They are used for
direct temperature monitoring of the motor windings. This information is used to determine whether the motor is operating normally or overloaded.
Description of
"Temperature

parameters
Temperature sensor
This parameter can be deactivated if no temperature sensor is present in the motor. This
parameter can be activated if a temperature sensor is present in the motor.
Two types of temperature sensors are supported:
Thermoclick (thermostat TH): This type of switch opens at a certain winding temperature.
PTC type A (thermistor sensor TF): This switch is a PTC thermistor with defined
characteristic curve to VDE 0660 Parts 302 and 303.
Setting range:
PTC type A (thermistor sensor TF): PTC thermistor with fixed resistance range
Notes:
We recommend selecting the setting "Thermoclick" (thermostat TH) or "PTC type A"
(thermistor sensor TF) in the equipment of the motor.

Basic factory
setting
The basic factory setting restores factory-based settings that the MME featured in its
delivery state. It provides a means of resetting the MME in case of an incorrect parameter setting.
Establishing basic
factory setting
Using the command "Basic factory setting". This option is only available if the
operating mode is set to Manual and the unit is locked.
Note: The fieldbus address and the baud rate will not be reset.
Installing the ID plug with the invalid PROFIBUS-DP address 127 (all DIP switches
to "ON", see the following figure) with DC24V-NS voltage present.
The basic factory setting is performed independently of the operating mode.

Note: The fieldbus address and the baud rate are also reset! These changes become
effective only with Power ON/OFF or the command "Restart".
After successful basic factory setting, the MME is in operating mode Automatic.

Definition of
process image
The process image is a component of the DP master system memory. At the beginning
of the cyclical program, the signal states of the inputs are transferred to the process
image of the inputs. At the end of the cyclical program, the process image of the outputs
is transferred to the DP slave as signal state.
The following process image is possible for MME with PROFIBUS-DP.

Inputs
Using the "Inputs" unit function, the MME can carry out different actions whose parameters can be set by the operator. For this purpose, the signals at the digital inputs are
analyzed. The inputs can be directly switched with sensors (PNP) in two-wire and threewire technology.
The input actions of the individual digital inputs affect the MME functions independent
of each other (= OR operation).
For interference immunity reasons, you can specify a debouncing time for the inputs.
Setting range: 10 milliseconds to 80 milliseconds
Input n-level
Input n-signal

This unit parameter is used to specify whether the input level of the digital inputs should
be stored or not.

Input n-action
Different actions can be triggered if an input signal is present. The following actions can
be programmed dependent upon "Input n-level", "Input n-signal" and "operating mode".

below) possible.
Control via fieldbus (Operating mode Automatic) is not possible!
Operating mode Automatic is possible again if operating mode
Manual Control is canceled and "Input
n-action: Motor CW or Motor CCW" is active.
Switches on the motor with ON switching command present
despite pending switch-off cause.
Also switches on the brake output with ON switching command
present for the brake output.
Only permitted as NO contact.
The MME must be in "Operating mode Manual Local" for these
actions.
The unit parameters of the braking procedures are analyzed.
Motor CW: Switch motor and brake output on and off at the same
time (CW rotation).
Motor CCW: Switch motor and brake output on and off at the
same time (CCW rotation).
Only permitted as NO contact.
St: The input action is triggered as long as the active level of the input
signal is present. The input trigger is deleted with "Quick Stop" input
action or group error.
Creep speed

Activates the creep speed, i.e. speed reduction of the motor. The
"Creep speed active" message is set.
The input action is combined with the "Creep speed" bit in the
PAA "OR".
St.: The input action reacts to the active flank of the input signal. This
allows for deactivation with an active input signal present.
The input trigger is cleared by
deleting the control commands/input actions "Motor CW" and
"Motor CCW" or
each edge change of the "Creep speed" control command
re-triggering with active edge of the input signal

Fieldbus diagnostics via MQP.. Diagnostic interface
14
14.3
06238AXX
Setpoint and actual values that are exchanged between MOVIMOT and the fieldbus
master can easily be diagnosed.
The MOVIMOT unit can be directly controlled in the "Controller" fieldbus monitor
operating mode. See the section "The fieldbus monitor in MOVITOOLS" on page 182.
Structure of the
diagnostics
interface
The diagnostics interface is located on potential level 0; the same potential as the
module electronics.
The interface can be accessed via a 4-pin plug connected RJ10. The interface is located
underneath the cable gland on the module cover.

Function of the
fieldbus monitor
14
1
The fieldbus monitor provides the user with a powerful tool for startup and troubleshooting. This tool displays and interprets all cyclical process data exchanged between
inverter and control.
The fieldbus monitor lets you monitor the bus operation as a passive participant or take
active control of the inverter.
To interactively take over control of the inverter in an existing system and check the
functionality of the drive.
